What contributes to the star ratings for units under the tactics tab? Offense, defense, and speed seem fairly self-explanatory to a certain extent, but what determines how "tough" a unit is, or how good their "skill" is?

Are there players that you can send down a level without having to subject them to waivers? If so, what are the criteria, or how can I see that on a player's profile?

I'm not sure of the criteria, but yes there are players that are not subjected to waivers. To see a players status. on his profile screen on the bottom left corner under contract there is a waiver eligible line that will tell you his status.

There should also be a column in the roster screen for waiver eligability.

This has probably been asked before, but is there any way to prevent players from retiring other than editing their age?

There is a hidden 'aging' attribute that would produce much the same effect without changing the age number displayed in game.

in FHM8 i have in european teams no transfer budget in Finances. So i cant buy Player from other Teams, i have only 4 $ for buy a player. How can i fix it?
