Marc - I hope you have been able to get your game working - I looked into what I did over the weekend and I couldn't figure anything special out except that 1) I'm using patch 1.08, and 2) running in compatibility mode.

On a possibly related note, I have an older AMD K6/566 desktop computer, running WinXP Pro SP2. It has a GeForce MX400 PCI graphics card, and I recently updated the video drivers from the nvidia website. MISTAKE! I first noticed that OOTP6 would cause my system to crash and re-boot every time upon first running the program. Using the OOTP6 settings utility I disabled Direct3D, and then OOTP ran fine. Problem solved. Or not - tried to later run Rise of Nations and same thing - system crashed and re-booted upon running the game. Madden 2003 - same thing. Didn't try FBPro98 so I don't know if it would have been a problem or not. I did some research on the web and found that many people have problems with WinXP going into a loop with nvidia drivers, and although it's not a problem specific to the nvidia drivers (could be caused by anything from bad graphics card to bad memory to IRQ/memory page conflict to simple overheating), it seems to be more apparent with the more recent (last 12 months) nvidia drivers. I tried several older drivers with no success, finally dug out the CD that came with the graphics card and loaded the original driver set from 2002. Voila - works just fine now. Google 'mx400 xp crash reboot' and you'll find lots of forum messages on various sites dealing with this. Crazy that I have to use a 2+ year old driver set...
