2019/2020 Season Preview

1)Rangers
2)Philadelphia-Solid team but can't match up against us.
3)Avalanche-Along with Weber, Suzuki makes the team and they sign Gaborik. Also have Vince Dunn, this team may finally compete on an even kneel against me
4)Winnipeg-on the way down, but still dangerous
5)Edmonton-Vasilevsky Eichel, Hertl, DeAngelo JT Miller
6)Islanders, Stamkos and Panarin among others, just no D.

12)Carolina-Time has run out i think for Ovie.No major changes to this team that can never make a playoff run. Point Kucherov and Ovie can't get it done
19Columbus-Same with Crosby, I doubt either two superstars win the stanley cup, unless they wind up on a strong team when old. These

This is last season for Mika Zibanejad and Laine. Keller also at risk, as Necas Thomas and Bratt are NHL ready. But it might be that one of my top players who are 30 may need to be traded for cap space if they start declining, but thats unlikely.. So we shall see. Keller Laine and Meier are my 2nd line and on 2nd power play unit. This is so they can have a go at 100. Fox is on top line with Carlson now.

Expecting a drop off in goals as Tarasenko, Tavares and Barkov will all lose time on pp. Also losing Weber with Fox might result in a few less points as Weber was super elite, and Fox is not quite there yet.

2019/2020 Season

Will keep a lcose eye on Coloradi

1st Quarter
Montreal beat us in a shootout, but on pace for 609 goals. I'll take it. Not the 650 of recent years, but still its on pace for our 3 players, Keller,Meier and Laine to hit 100. We are 20-0-1. Colorado are a major dissapointment, theyare 12-8 to be 11th overall! They have no decent netminders and its showing as they can't win close games.

Halfway
We thump several teams, as we stay on target. Colorado are much better, in that quarter, going 16-4-1, and now 2 points behind Winnipeg with 2 games in hand. Kessel is fighting Arizona's Matthews for points lead. Kessel top scorer with 44. Stamkos 43.

3rd Quarter
5 players on 100. Meier excels on 2nd center duty. Tarasenko, 3rd line and 1st pp is just a machine, one of favourite players in this run. Colorado and Arizona a clear second, both 7 points ahead of 4th place Win and Min. Philadelphia are not the routine 115 points+ machine this year, already lost 4 games more than in any of their previous 6 seasons.

End of Season
All 3 players get 100, Only fox on this team doesn't ahve a 100 point season in the last couple of years. we end up with 10 players on 100 points or more. Kessel is overtaken by Arizona's Matthews with 3 games to go, he responds with a 5 goal, 6 point game, to retake the lead, but Matthews has 2 games in hand, and 3 points to make up. one game to go for both team, Kessel leads by 194 pts to 192. Kessel goes pointless, and Matthews ties him, but loses out on goals scored! kessel the maurice with 95 to Matthews 81. Arizona end up on 126, to our 159. Colorado 125. Philaldephia equal with Florida for last wildcard spot. Identical records, Phil should get it as they have less SO wins, lets see. Didn't update the playoff system so we ahve the covid version so thats irrelevant! We 635 goals, and concede 192.

2019/2020 Covid Playoffs

Forget about this, will change it to the 2 division format from now on

We win the mini group

Rnd1: We end up with Washington and sweep them

Rnd2:We get Tampa Bay, Ovechkins Carolina out, Stamkos Islanders meet Crosbys Columbus. Jets meet the Avs, whilst Arizona have MInnesota. We sweep veryt easily, Tampa has no great players and can't deal with any of our lines.

Rnd3: Colorado beat Jets in 5 and meet Arizona. We get the Crosby BJ's who escaped a 3-1 whole vseres the Islanders! They get beat 11-3 in the first game! Its a simple sweep as we enter into June! Arizona are through!

Stanley Cup Final: We meet with Auston Matthews who is on fire. Has 30 points Tarasenko 28 for us. Pettersson and Rantanen fill out their top line with Bouchard on D. They really shouldn't give us too much trouble.

Game1: 5-4 win for us . Arizona take 2-1 lead through 2 Rakell goals, but we score 4 in second to take a 5-2 lead and wether a spirited comeback for the win.

Game2: 7-4 Win for us with the Kopitar/Toews/Kessel line at its best

Game3: 6-4 win for Arizona, if this last 7 games we might run out of dates in calendar, as games are every 3 games! Bouchard with 2 goals is the Arizona hero.

Game4: 6-4 Rangers win,

GAme 5 7-5 Rangers win on the 20th June! Tarasenko with 4 points to win the cup! Matthews gets 37, Tarsenko leads us with 36. I'd love him to get an award for his stellar play over the years.

Hart: Kessel
Conn Smythe:Vladimir Tarasenko-FULLY deserved
Calder:Trevor Zegras
Norris:John Carlson
Vezina:Igor Shesterkin

Rangers get almost all major trophies. Auston Mathhews get Ted Linsay. otherwise Frank J selke, Jack Adams and even Lady Byng come to us!

2020/2021 Season Preview

The Toews-Kessel-Kopitar line are start to age a bit a but will still be my first line. Connor-Tavares-Bratt-Necas-Tarasenko will get pp time. Bratt is 22, and could have played two years ago, but not opening in my team. Fox is number 1 defender now.

1)NY Rangers
2)Colorado-Alex Lyon in goal a serious issues, but trade Forsberg for Konecny for budget reasons.
3)Edmonton-Vasilevsky, Eichel, Hertl, Deangelo, Sanheim, Boqvist, and JT Miller. Just lack forward depth
4)Philadelphia-Schiefle, Couturier and Krug.
5)NY Islanders, very similar to Colorado, Stamkos Panarin Gaudreau, Hemdan, but goalie is O'Connor, and they play in toughest division

Again we should dominate with ease. Colorado could provide oppositon inf we meet in playoffs.

Crosby CLB and Ovechkin Car are predicted to not even make playoffs

2020/2021 Season

Flying out the gates with 186 goals in the first 21 games, then 152 in second quarter, then 161 in the 3rd. MacKinnon is stupidly traded for Wheeler, 9 years younger, a 5star player and on 5 million. Wheeler is now 4 stars and on 6 million. Mackinnon actually leads the league in points, for a while, but Kessel takes the lead with 21 games to go. We had 13 players on course for 100 after 21 games, with 18 points in 21 games being the lowest any of my players had. We are 61-1-1. Colorado Philadelphia and Ny Islanders all around 44-18-1 mark. 10 players around the 100 point mark for the rangers with last quarter of the season to go.

End of Season, Rangers finish 81-2-1. 10 players get 100, 4 gets 80+ and the remaining 4 are all around 60. We score 669 goals! 170 in the final quarter.
Kessel get 198 points, and 96 goals to lead the leagues. 5 other tems get to 100 points. Should be an easy playoffs.

2020/2021 Playoffs

Rnd1: Almost hit 40 goals in a sweep of pIttsburgh

Rnd2: We get 2nd best team in league the Flyers who came threoughb the 3rd best team the Islanders! Colorado are through. Crosby's BJ's are out, and Ovechkin Hurricanes again missed the playoffs. Despite a shock gm2 loss, we beat the Flyers in 5 with an average score of 8-3.

Rnd3: Toronto meet us in the conference final, they have Patrick Kane, Gavrikov and Hintz. Colorado knocked out in rnd 2 by Dallas in a shock. We sweep Toronto including a 15-1 embarassment.

Stanley Cup Final: Buffalo Pastarnk gets 31 in 13, Tarasenko leads us with 24. our stanley cupn opponents Dallas, who knock out Arizona, have Larkin and Kyrou. They have decent depth, but no great stars, this should be a blowout. We won 11-2 and 7-3 in the regular season.

Game1: 12-1 Rangers. Yeah.

Game2: 4-2 Rangers, Dallas out shot 45-18 but Markstrom is superb.

Game3: 8-3 Rangers. Markstrom can't repeat his heroics, in a similar one sided contest.

Game4: 9-2 Rangers. Kessel tears them apart again and is top scorere with 37. Pastrnak finshed second with that incredible run.

I'll raise this on a more suitable thread but the reason we win so easily now, is the lack of palyer depth, with everyone declining fairly quickly, apart fomr the off few guys i change at the draft, there's little depth in teams and we can win easily. We need players and goalies to stay better for longer. There is not one goalie over the age 31 who is 4 star or more. There are 2 3.5 star. Bobrovsky for example is cannon fodder since the age of 27/28

Hart:Kessel
Conn Smyth: Fox
Calder: Cole Caulfield(MTL)
Norris:Carlson
Vezina:Igor Shesterkin

2021/2022 Expansion, Drafts and PreSeason

Seattle Expansion Draft-Doesn't happen strangely enough.

We trade Tavares to Detroit for 2 1st rnd picks to get under the salaray cap, Cosens takes his place. Lundkvist still in mionrs, no place for him. 18 season to go. In the draft we pick up 5 good players, Pickering Nemec, Michkov, Ohgren and Kokko. All of them have an aging of 9!

Lane Hutson goes to Seattle. They'll lose every game 10-0 as they didn't get an expansino draft and very few free agents

Season Preview

1)Rangers:
2)Oilers, Vasilevsky best goalie in game. Tony DeAngelo already declining at 25
3)Colorado- NO goalie, no hope, Weber didn't make them over the top.
4)Buffalo-Reinhart.Pastrnak.Thompson, not much else
5)Florida Tkachuk, Quin Huges, DEmko, Kuznetsov for best all round team.

20)Columbus, Crosby still here team a bit better, but still no chance of a SC
22)Carolina-0vechkin declining, Kucherov still great, but thats it.

Another romp ahead. Season highlight will be to see Seatlle's scores!

2021/2022 Season

Trading Tavares has had a negative effect, also Kessel-KOpitar-Toews, are not quite as porductive as before, they are all around 33. Last season for them as 1st liners it looks like. Seatle, just show how weak the league is from a depth point, as tehy have 10 wins from their first 41 games. That is ridiculous considering they have 0 players with a 2.5 star rating or above!

End of season, Seattle finish 31st, level with Nashville, and above Calgary.. Have the worst differential but not the worst defence. Colorado best next team by far this season. Toews doesn't get to 100, Kessel and Kopitar still excellent. Draisaitl wins Art Ross! McDavid 2nd

2021/2022 NHL Playoffs

Rangers and Avalanche fly through the playoffs. Avalanche drop 2 games on the way, the Rangers 12-0.

Can the McDavid/Draisaitl line come up big in their first big chance to win a Stanley Cup. Its the second time the McDavid's av's have made the sc final. They lost in 6 last time. Rangers won both regular season games

Game1: Its 2-0 avs after the 1st, McDavid and Suzuki all score, with Weber, Darisaitl and Sergachev getting assists. Those are their top players, and they turned up. Unfortunatley they haev Vladar in net, and he is lit up in the 2nd. 6 goals go in, 2 from Kessel. Brossoit comes in but he can't stop the bleeding, as he's responsible for 2 of those 6. Av's try to come back in the third, with Sergachev getting another goal and assist for 3 points in the game. However with 13 mins to go and the score 6-4 there's no further goals as the Rangers take game 1. Shots 46-26 Rangers

Game2: We switch off zone play from cycle to 1-2-1-1. Has the desired affect. Carlson get the only goal of the 1st period, before another 4 goals in the 2nd make it 5-1, as Drasiaitl from McDavid get the lone reply late in the 2nd. Rangers complete an 8-1 rout with 3 more goals in the 3rd.

Game3: Must win for Colorado you feel, but the off tactic change works again as its another rout 9-2. its our 4th line of Cozens, Thomas and Necas who combine for 4 of those goals.

Game4: Can we complete a 16-0 playoffs? Yep another rout 8-1. Kessel with a hat trick, Colorado were never in it, McDavid has an assist, but his line are an average -5 accross the 4 games . Thumping win. I'll stick with the 1-2-1-1 attacking line next year. Kessel leads playoff performers with 35 points

Hart: Connor McDavid
Conn Smythe: Kessel
Calder: Max Jones(SEA)
Norris:Shea Weber (COL)
Vezina: Andrei Vasilevskiy (EDM)

2022/2023 Pre Season

We have too many players ready to make the team. Raymond is the one player i keep, he'll probably replace Toews next year as i can't afford his contract.

Trades
Carlson is traded for Dahlin, but also costs me Aho.
IN a trade i deliberatley do to help Colorado become somone i can battle. I give them Hamilton for 1 st rnd picls. Gives them an excellent 1-2 punch in D.
tampa Bay, take Rossi, Kakko and Mercer, who are all good players, but won't make my team. I get their 23 and 24 1st rnd picks. TB have made the playoffs once in 10 years.

Draft

We have several 1st rnd picks, this is the connor Bedard draft. We have picks in the mid to late teens.

1)C. Bedard-Calgary they make no mistake

We get Gabe Perrault as the 15th pick, and Badinka who is weirdly rated a 15 at offence already as a defender at age 16

2022/2023 Preview

1)Rangers
2)Oilers-Overrated, but will be up there, Eichel/Burns/Vasilevsky
3)Avalanche-Get Forsberg back, so now have McDavid, Drasiaitl, Weber, Hamilton Sergachev, and Suzuki. Have Folwer in net who is at 3 stars. Hopefully they'll be a force to reckon with in the season and playoffs.
4)Senators:Makar-Carlson is a fearsome 1-2 punch on d, Aho, Verhaege and Jack Quinn upfront
5)Sabres: Reinhart.Thompson//Pastrnak, not much else though.

Crosby/Ovechkin still at Clm and Car who are ranked 20th and 24th.

2022/2023 Regular Season

With Toews on fourth line and our defence shaken up, we start off relatively slowly. By endf of season we are on 153 points and 603 goals, so still pretty dominant. Colorado ended up with 121, was expecting a bit more. Auston Matthews hits 200, Connor McDavid 2nd with 176, but win top scorer with Tarasenko both 81.

2022/2023 Playoffs

We get Tampa Bay rnd, 1, the threwe player we gave them puished them up in the league. Improved them from 81 to 97 points! We beat them easily. New Jersey, beated in 5, for the first playoff defeat in 25+ games for us. Colorado also rolling. We get Buffalo in the conference final, Colorado face Calgary, who make a miraculous run after being near the cellar for 4 years and have Binnington in net and not much else somehow! Buffalo put up a fight, they have a tough first line if not much else, but are beaten in 5. Although we won the 3rd in OT to go up 2-1. Could ahve been a different series if they have won in OT. Colorado sweep Calgary.

Stanley Cup Final: We've traded Colorado some decent players, They have a good defensive corp of Hamilton, Dunn, Sergachev and old starger Weber. McDavid, Draisaitl, Forsberg, Suzuki average 130 points between them. Last year we shut them down easily, with the talent balance swining a bit especially on def, will Colorado have a shot of giving McDavid and Draisaitl their first SC? Regular season was a 4-2 win for the Rangers in denver, then Colorado won a great game 8-7 at MSG.

Game1: Fireworks to being, as the teams share 6 goals in the first period. McDavid 2 assists. Kyle Connor with his second of the game makes it 4-3 after 2, and in the 3rd Suzuki equalises, but with just 13 seconds to go Rob Thomas wins it for us! Shots are 35-28, and this series doens't look like its the foregone conclusion last years was.

Game2: Oh well 8-0 Rangers, Fox three points, totally dominant game by the Rangers

Game3: Must win for Colorado. 2-2 after 1, and 3-3 after 2. goals are shared accross the teams top 3 lines evenly. In the 3rd, Rangers got 5-3 up, before MIkheleyv gets it to 5-4. kessel with the insurance, and then Sergahev scores with 30 seconds left to give Colorado a tiny thread of hope. But its in vain, this game dominated by Rangers 51 shots to 25. Vladar had an excellent game, Shesterkin did not!

Game4: SEVENTEEN TO 6. WHAT A WAY TO WIN! Highest number of goals we've scored in this playthrough. Fox 7 points and hat tricks for Tarasenko, Kopitar and Connor. McDavid ends up top points scorer in the playoffs with 37, Connor on 36.

Hart: Matthews
Conn Smythe: Fox
Calder: Marco Rossi (TB)
Norris:Fox
Vezina: Mads Sogaard (WPG)

2023/2024 Pre Season

Penultimate season before we go into future seasons. The salary cap years have been much easier than i thought, especially with more teams, the computer can not build super teams. There's few free agents, and players age too quickly. Needs a bit of tweaking ot make it harder.

Draft- there's very few palyers in this. In fact just 23.

Macklin Celebrini draft...goes to Nashville

Hopefully we'll have some fake players generated soon otherwise this playthrough is done

2023/2024 Preview

Jonathan Toews signs with Tampa Bay, further ruining my draft picks, but if no players what does it matter. I really hope there's players that get created by 2026. Lucas Raymond takes his spot.

1)Rangers
2)Edmonton-same team as last year
3)Colorado-no goalie still
4)Ottawa-Aho/Carlson
5)Florida-Tkachuk/Quinn Hughes, Stuztle

Kessel and Kopiar now fourth line, should have a drastic affect on my scoring, but still have a strong team.

2023/2024 Season

Connor McDavid gets his first Art Ross, goals per game in the nhl is now at 9. What i've learned is that if you want the NHL to score at about 8 goals a game, you need to modify the number for each era. Set it around 9 for the 60's, 8.5 for the 80's, 9 for the dead puck era, and at 8 for the McDavid era.

Tarasenko wins the top scorer race, Rangers go 79-1-4 with 639 goals, Colorado second on 129, they just need a goalie. On the 4th line Kessel and Kopitar put up 80 and 67 points respectively. Our new top line all hit over 170, so our goal production actually increased rather than decereased as i was expecting. 10 players got to 100. Playoffs should be a breeze again

2023/2024 Playoffs

Rangers win cup again, actually fall behind to Tampa Bay, 2 games to 1, but reel off 15 straight to win the cup. McDavid's av's fall to Matthews Coyotes in the conference final, but Arizona no match for the Rangers and get swept.
Matthews gets 43 points in the playoffs, as non of our players get past 34 as i roll 4 even lines.

Hart:McDavid
Conn Smyth:Matthews
Valder:Alex Beaucage(stl)
Norris:Fox
Vezina:Shesterkin

Onto next year, where i hope some young players will generate, but if not will give it one or two more season to see if they generate and if the game does indeed go into a custom game

2024/2025 Regular Season

Just going to sim this season, and put palyers who haven't got 100 points in the top 2 lines on pp-Thomas, Heiskanen, Cozens and Raymond. We are still dominating the league but shows having our 'weakest' players in the top lines and we are on course for 550 goal rather than 650. 39-2-1 record, Colorado a long way behind in 2nd.

Rangers 572 goals, 79-4-1, Colorado fell off to finish 6th. only 5 players get to 100, Raymong, Cozens, Hesikanen and Thomas all miss out. Rantanen top points scorer from McDavid and top scorer from Matthews
