I use AI alot for player pics now. I use a black and white and have it color it. I am also recreating Grisbys ballparks with ChatGPT. I like it.

For example, I couldn't find a pic of Monte Weaver as a Boston Red Sox. So I created. Here's what it came up with. I think it did a good job. FYI, you won't find a Monte Weaver pic as a Red Sox because he was only there 1 season. But now here's one.

The photography of Tom Berry on his BBref page was certainly taken long after his playing days, so I've work with the AI to make him looks like the age he was when he played.

Edit: My error I thought the photo was one of him much older... I did him again a couple of post under.

On the contrary, the baseball reference image is taken from the 1870 Philadelphia Athletics team composite. I've attached a better resolution version of it below. As to Berry's appearance, he was a Civil War veteran and his experiences may have caused him to appear older.

Really... I'm surprized. He didn't look at all like a 28 years old man, seriously I'm 55 and I look way younger than that... on the other hand I never fought in a war. Take two :-)

Here's an authentic photo of Weaver with the Red Sox.

I like the name at the bottom of the photo.
I added the year.
Do you think a players appearance would warrant enough change to
have ai do a photo of him for every year he played or maybe every 5 years.
Or if he changed teams

This is George Pipgras at 28 and 32 using the same photo i used to make the first one.
I'm not sure it matters what year a photo is taken to use as a base for the ai creation. A person should have the same characteristics in their face.

On second thought i think i prefer the photo without the name.
It may just be too hard to easily read in the game.

One thing this ai has done is to give me a different perspective on the age of players on these teams.
For example i always see players on the 27 Yankees at an older age.
But AI has reminded me just how young some of the players were for the 1927 Yankees
Gehrig and Lazzeri were still in their early 20s.
Its probably also vice versa as well.
You just see a common photo of a player and assume he looked like that his whole career.

See this is what I mean when I say that AI can be useful to create FG... Check the picture and next check what I have to work on Charlie Jones :-)

This has some tremendous potential to create photo sets that would be above and beyond facegen for replays.

Just curious, have you toyed with the idea of using a.i. for 2d stadiums? That might yield some stunning results.
