OOTP 24 patch (version 24.3.52) available!

Although it's easy to say the game was released too early, the start of the baseball season is a release date that can't be moved. Maybe the process should start as much as a month earlier, but that's one of those things that's easy to say - and quite different in reality.

Many of us have lived through 24 versions of "released on time" then a series of updates to stabilize the game. This year is really not that much different. PS: If I had to pick the worst release year, it would probably be Version 6 - that was a tough one.

The good thing here is the two year overlap of versions. This isn't the first time I've waited a bit to move everything over, but maybe the second longest one

Worst release ever = OOTP 2006 - the new engine. Nothing matches that one. It was a very rough but necessary step in the evolution of the game.

Just download this and unzip into your stats folder (overwriting the files already there, which should be found at yourootpinstalllocation\ootp24\data\stats

Then start a new historical game, and you'll get the updates (along with a bunch of other db fixes).

Thank you for the quick response and hopeful fix. I am not seeing much (if anything) changed however. I still see hundreds of guys with 4 years of service and 1880s stats added on. Am I doing something incorrectly? I downloaded and overwrote the old files in the stats folder.

Did you start a new game? It won't retroactively fix an old save. This also shouldn't fix an service time issues. Those would be more an importer fix.

What it should mostly do is get rid of the guys who play 100 years because of a wrong dob or where 70 year old guys import as active. Also fix a lot of merged players where guys wrongly have say 1800's stats (and stats from other eras). But I'm not sure from what you're describing if your issue with 1880s stats added on is the same or not. Can you give me an example of a guy with 1880's stats added on you still see?

Thank you again for the reply. Maybe I am describing a different bug in which case I am happy to move to the bug reports are, but here is what I am seeing. This is a 2011 save created with the Wizard after the only changes I made to the base game being the files you provided last night:

These are all real players with stats going back to 1884 added on to their (mostly) correct real stats. They also have seemingly wrong ratings too. None of these guys should have 20-25 stuff, 70-80 movement, and 60-70 control potentials along with very high contact and avoid K, and no power.

Matt Rogelstad is the screenshot I attached but all the stats look like his do. His stats from 2003-2011are there (2010/11 are being labeled as majors but the stats themselves are correct), and then years of 1880s are added on and he has 5 years of service time.

This is strange. This is not a db issue, as there are no 1800's stats for him in the db. It must be an issue with the importer. So definitely a different bug.

Can you walk me through exactly how you create that historical season (which options you choose etc) so I can try to recreate this and figure out what's going on? Thanks!

EDIT: I was actually able to recreate this myself, so no need for the above info. I will log this as a bug and pass it on to the dev team to take a closer look at.

Absolutely. Just started a new game with the wizard using the following settings (I have seen this in games I created without the wizard if that helps, I am just using the wizard for this save):

Page 1 of 6: 2011; Complete history and real minors. Did not touch the player rating options but they are career play, real stats/peak/3 years/double current. Adjust stats are 200/50/25/10.

Page 2 of 6: nothing

Page 3 of 6: recalc. auto expand and draft. import of financials.

Page 4 of 6: No scouting, all 20-80.

nothing changed on page 5 and I chose the Nats (but I have seen this with the Rangers, Angels, Dodgers, and I can keep testing teams if you'd like).

This gives me the exact same results as the screenshots.

Edit: Just saw your edit but I was already typing this out so here it is anyway

Additional Edit: Does anyone know of a way to not have this happen so I can set up a historical save without these issues?

It looks like this is an easy fix. We should have it fixed up for the public beta patch.

I'll post a new copy of the historical db with the fixes for this here in just a bit.

I was more asking if I was setting something up incorrectly and there was a fix I could do on my end, but if y’all can get it done then that’s even better. Thank you for the quick replies and assistance, I appreciate it.

Got this today.

Didn't happen immediately when I first loaded, so don't know if there's a delay and maybe some people patch it before it triggers, but they're definitely a thing.
