Regarding player injuries, how is one to interpret the Injury List Counter if / when editing a player. For example, many of my players show an Injury List Counter reading of 7 even though the expected length of their individual injuries varies. The counter is the number of days the player has to remain on the injured list - there's a minimum amount that he must stay on for. The other number counts the days he's actually injured (and may not count steadily down to 0, it can stall.)

I'm brand new to the game and I want to be able to control all aspects for all teams- trade, lines, etc. Is there a way to do it, and if so, how?

You'll need to start a game in multiplayer mode, and create a general manager (that you'll be able to control) for each team.

We just started tracking gender in the database this year, so yes, eventually (edit: actually, now that I check, she's set to female already, you just can't see it in-game.) But it's going to require changing a lot of game text to accommodate female pronouns, so getting news stories to refer to she, her, etc. will be something for a future version.

Are there steamcloud saves in fhm8? I haven’t really played previous versions so not sure if it’s been in the game previously.

Is it normal for teams not to change ends for each period? I notice they always play from the same end.

No, some of the saves are still too big for that. Valve keeps increasing the limits on cloud save sizes, though, so we'll likely get to the point where we can use them eventually.

Yeah, we'll probably include that at some point, but for now they don't.

Yes, the Iron Curtain rule limits the players by nationality, not league (so Russians playing in Japan in the 80's wouldn't be able to go to the NHL.)

When doing the expansion draft as Seattle, is there an easy way to view just one team at a time? Not sure if I'm missing a filter, but it would be great to just have a concise view of a particular roster that I need to pick a player from.

I LOVE Cammi Granato. My son did her hockey summer camp back in the day. Was the best one he ever did. Cammi was awesome.

No, I think we need to add a filter for league rights to make that easier. But you can get a list of the players from each team another way: have a look in the \Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 8\database folder, and there'll be a text file named seattle_exp_draft_list.txt. That lists all the players in the draft, and it's ordered by team ID (the first number.)

Anyone know how to get past a message that says lower monthly budget? I think i've lower as much as I can and it still won't let me go any further so I'm stuck

Are all the monthly finances options on the bottom settings? That should let you get past the warning.
