Try reducing max number of years for contracts to "7" or even "5"
i've also dabbled in changing where they get their income.. markets till impact total, but each team can spend big if they win consistently. upped merchandise revenue significantly -- this rewards successful teams more than unsuccessful ones. these are the teams i want to have extra cash to spend to avoid a 'stock car' feel to finances/league but never doomed by market size. i reduce the local media contract and increase the 'same for every team' national contract. bah to gate sharing.. wtf is this soviet russia? lol So, that gets zeroed out. team revenues mostly rise and fall due to success, and that success quickly opens floodgates for more cash. i don't let owners control budget but i don't think it'd make a huge difference either way... the larger markets still dominate, but could easily redistribute local media contract revenue elsewhere. this avoids any / many per-team edits. just nice and neat changes in the settings. no matter what, if idon't want to be short-changed 50-70million on my budget, i need to set it myself. the way i do ticket prices screws with how it estimates 'next year's' budget. That 50-70 isn't counting the playoff revenue, which the AI will always ignore when computing next year's budget.. income boost that screws with budget projections... Make sure your season ticket price as at least as high as you'll ever price your tickets during the year or in playoffs and then price it even higher, LOL. you'll find ticket price while maintaining a sellout will escalate during winning seasons. pricing season tickets below that high-water mark only reduces your avg ticket price and therefore final gate income. selling fewer season tickets does not adversely impact selling out your stadium. so, gouge the ****e out of'em. if you keep other things constant, including team success, you can hone optimal value by using resulting avg ticket price to evaluate impact of different values... remember for next time you have a dynasty. if you are selling 50% of capacity season tickets, stop doing that, lol... it's bad math.... try a price high enough to slim it down to 10-20%, then price to sell out stadium, give or take, throughout season. you can 'start' a game then cancel it to see attendance based on ticket price. can price and react with familiarity nearly as well too. anyway, in any good season, you'll crush any gate income record you previously had... and if you hone it by enough to pay for at least 1 more player on team with hall of fame talent.. .maybe even 2 extra top-shelf contracts if large stadium and you win a ton. weekends can be a X% higher.. easy to see trend. attendance fluctuates a bit but is tiered... it may ebb and flow a bit if you keep same ticket price... but it will stay in a particular range... at some threshold above that price, the attendance will drop to next range or tier. easy to know with a few observances what your ticket price is resulting in.. you'd need to do some calculus to determine optimal ticket price&attendance. i'm not assuming a sellout is optimal, i just prefer to have sellouts while maximizing cash under those contexts.
