YMMV, but I have been enjoying Perfect Draft quite a bit. My win percentage in it is better than I get from normal tourneys, which doesn't hurt my enjoyment any, but I also just like the format.

My success has been irregular between my 3 teams. Left Coast won 3 tourneys over the weekend. My other two teams won 1 and placed in a couple more.

Gettysburg is in Stone 156

Starting up my OL team today. Week of EP to try and become OL-compliant right out of the box. Got a historical diamond SP in Don Nottebart and historical gold reliever Chris Devenski in my reward packs.

It was more than likely on the PT servers than anything you did or didnt do. I have had a couple of occasions as have others where teams have not been properly placed well into the season, not just week one.

Port Ruppert Slated for Fourth OL Tour

Opened my starter and loyalty packs without any miracle pulls, but with four golds and two diamonds, so two more golds than I was due. Two are OL types. with a gold Dustin Pedroia and a 90 Phil Garner, so it appears one will have to DH. May go with Scrap Iron at third, though. A real dearth of OL starting pitchers - only one - is gonna make the early going rough in OL. Hope we get a couple of lucky point games this week. My other two teams, which I plan on checking in on only occasionally, were started in stone and iron, so I guess they did alright. Didn't have a bunch of points in either case. Ah, well. Good luck to all. Almost forgot the staff. The only OL starter on the roster right now is a 58 overall Albert E. "Cowboy" Jones, the first player born in Colorado to play in the majors, and the only Coloradan to appear in the majors in the the 19th century. He played parts of three and one full season with the Cleveland Spiders and the St. Louis Perfectos/Cardinals, from 1898-1901. We welcome our future staff ace, who will pitch this season with the AAA Kakoola Reapers.

Arrow Results From My 6 Starter Packs, 2 Gold, and 2 Diamond

I just opened my 6 starter packs, 2 Gold Packs, and Two Diamond Packs.

I was pleasantly surprised as to how many Historical cards I received, even if they were Bronze and Iron however, the two Diamond Packs were a bust as both packs together only produced on 2 low Live Diamond cards and all of the other cards were Live Iron.

The top rated cards I got were:

91 Live RP Ryan Pressly
90 Live SP Clayton Kershaw
89 Live SS Time Anderson
86 Live LF Marcell Ozuna
84 Live CF George Springer.

The highest rated Historical cards that I received were:

79 CF Rookie Sensation Barney Schultz
75 2B Snapshot Juan Uribe
72 SS Rookie Sensation Pat Listach

I see the Pack-Luck Gods are still mad at me for the 4th year in a row!

In order to be eligible to be included in "Our League", besides agreeing to the above conditions, you must also agree to use the " - OL" suffix at the end of your team name and you must use the "+" at the end of your teams abbreviation. (See Image Below)

The use of these symbols is to easily help identify your team as a "Our League" member.

If you do not use the -OL and the +, your team will not be recognized as a member of "Our League" and your game records will not be counted. Your team will also not be eligible for any OL awards, if they are given out.

To be able to add the" - OL" and the "+" to the end of your team name, start off at the Main Menu and go to Perfect Team, next select Profile & Setting, next go to Customize Team, next select Edit Team Name and add the - OL and the + ; please make sure you hit the "Submit Team" button at the upper far right part of the screen otherwise your changes will not be taken.
Please follow this part of our guidelines. It is essential for those that help post standings.

Edster007 is there now, I just started my team this morning. I think the same can be said for the rest of the list as several of us opted for the full week of entry pool play.

I believe that madmaracus should be madmarcus.

When I saw madmaracus, however, it made me think that I need to write a screenplay about a man whose dream of being the first one-man mariachi band is crushed and he turns into a supervillain calling him self Mad Maracas.

Coney Island did pretty good with live cards and pretty fair with historical. We pulled a Perfect Lucas Gialito, five so-so live diamonds and five live gold. Going to play them for a few days hoping they can generate some points before I sell them off.

Got two playable historical's and many unsung heroes.

I got 2 live Diamonds, Aroldis and Albies, both of which I sold. Maybe not the smartest choice for generating points in the EP but it is what it is. I got 3 live golds I also sold (2 SP and 1 Reliever).

Got a gold 82 Mike Kreevich historical card and a 3 Silver historical - Gino Petralli, Jay Payton, and an old timey reliever named Chad Kimsey.

And that's Annandale out of the gate!

So two questions to you raging baseball fans:

1. Regarding tournaments, how do you guys manage it with multiple PT teams? Say you're running 2 or 3 PT teams. Do you have each team enter 1 tournament at a time? I feel like if I do that I will be forever between wins. Or maybe I'm just bad at creating tourney teams.

Also, though I like Perfect Draft in theory, the actual drafts I've participated in have been a little frustrating. Or maybe I'm also just bad at that!

2. What do you think an effective strategy is for a team just starting OL now? I can think of three general strategies. Packs always seem super hit-or-miss (with me mostly missing), but the chance to hit a big one is there. Buying good players works to improve your team but it's super slow and to me it feels like you will get only so far since your PP generation has a definite upper cap. Completing collections may be the way to go but you end up with a team full of SEs that everyone else has and then you're stuck at whatever level that is. Or is there another strategy that I'm forgetting?

I usually have my teams running in 3 tournaments each, and this year, a Perfect Draft tourney each. It took me a few drafts to get a feel for PD, and I have started taking some notes while drafting, to make sure I am covered positionally and also to see if I can find a trend in my successes/failures.

With just starting out a few hours ago, I am going with a different PT22 strategy. I am sitting on every card I get, for now and I am not buying anything in the AH, for now. Past years, I sold off every Live card I received to generate PP to use in the AH.

This will be the first time ever in PT (19,20,21) that Drops are available at the very start of the PT season so I will hope that I can get some usable cards from watching the shows. It will of course be harder this year with drops since due to Twitch policy, we will only be allowed 5 drop packs a day, which will make it harder on me, with my new approach however, I am willing to ride it out, even if it takes me a few weeks to become OL compliant.

Also, a new approach for me in PT22 is that I am saving up my PP so I can use it to purchase Historical Packs, when they become available (I have never done it this way before).

This way I know that I will be receiving hopefully 6 usable cards from a single pack. I don't have those odds with any of the other packs, so that is why I decided to just focus on the Historical Packs and not buy other packs or acquire players from the AH.

My first Perfect Draft is still playing out however, it was stressful, as if I was running short on time in a college final exam! I never knew that 20 minutes could ever go so quickly!

I was disappointed with that batches of cards I had to choose from, as a whole, especially the last set where you are required to select 5 as they were all "ride the bench" quality players cards, and basically no use for my team.

As for running tournaments, I have always just fielded one team, as that is all I have the time and patience for.

Just checked into the Mundys and it seems we're in same entry league as the Atom Smashers.

Also decided to put in my friends list names and found the following:

No Daytona Beach or Coney Island teams, but the respective usernames OrmondBeachDan and Edster007 were there with different team names.

The Gettysburg Bullets had no OL marking, so I guess they're not ready yet.

I assume the same is true for JesseBarfield.

Tygr's Nowheremen were marked indicating they're in BFF. Change of mind?

Finally, I fixed the typo in madmarcus, although I do like the maracas image.

All else with the friends list was fine.

Finally, quite a few teams still have not posted their logos. You can e-mail your logo to kidheckett@gmail.com or post it here. If I don't have your logo and you win a crown, I'll either throw together a quick logo or come up with a generic place holder with the team abbreviation if there are a lot missing when we get rolling.

I took a little time on Sunday to make a new world series plaque/patch. I think it's nicer and hope to award one soon. The All OL world series trophy will remain the same since it's based on (exact copy of) a recent MLB championship trophy and looks decent, I think.

I've got a complete team....had one on Friday.

I sold all of my live Diamonds and Golds in order to fund my team.

I wanted to start and get some bronze players for tournaments, but my goodness, the prices on them this year is simply not +EV for me to invest at the current time.

I am going the pack route for right now. AH prices are inflated enough to where I get useable players and flip the rest for at or above what I spent on them. Hoping to get that one great card that I can flip to improve. Starting out filling team with useable golds and going from there.

The Patriots are labeled as OL even though they are not compliant as of yet. I'm hoping by the end of EP, they will be. Otherwise I will go in the wild until I am.
