Paragon City Heroes 69-65, Maddux responded to criticism by throwing a Maddux, always fun when it happens. Early Wynn is now the designated struggling starter, failed to get out of the 5th in consecutive starts while giving up 6 runs. We've snuck into the wildcard race sitting 3 games behind but we play 9 games against division leaders and another 6 against the Montreal Expos who have a similar record to ours but always seem to beat us. Definitely need to get that monkey off our backs

San Angeles 70s 73-60, 2 8 game win streaks led us to a 19-8 month. Our starting pitching has been great. Nolan Ryan was pitcher of the month going 5-0 with 47K and 2.18era. Vida Blue is the weakest starter and the bullpen could do with a rethink. SE Pete Rose is easily the best player on offense hitting .309 with an .829 ops and leading the team with 4.2 war. the new cards released on thursday include a lot of bucket list cards, but i doubt i'll be in a position to purchase them any time soon, if ever

Lowdown Lugnuts are plummeting towards Silver, but they have a healthy PP balance for rebuilding

OK Boomers 99-34, already in the playoffs and a magic numer of 2 for a division title. Finished off the NL Central adding Piazza, Matthews and Carlton to the roster, started the NL West, but Randy Johnson adn Dave Winfield have gone to the AH to try to fund further collections as i work towards Maddux, currently working on the Rockies. 3415 earned PP (inc an 11 and a 12 game streak) certainly helped, but it definitely feels like additions to the team will start to come slower now

Time for the Pennant push, and in G306, the Secret Harbour Pirates (90-43) have all but guaranteed October baseball and are pushing for the No. 1 seed in the National. The Pirates have a 20-game lead in the WC, an 8 1/2 game lead in the division, and a 1 1/2 game lead over the world famous Florida Fire Frogs for home-field advantage. They also have a very pleasant .461 strength of schedule for the remaining 29 games. Greg Maddux is Gred Maddux - he only walked four batters in the entire month of August, dropping his ERA below 3.00 (2.93). Surprisingly, it's Duke Snider who leads the team in home runs (23). Even more surpringsly, Jason Kendall is outplaying Yogi Berra. Now, don't get me wrong - Yogi is slashing a perfectly cromulent .303/.356/.458 with 8 HR and 39 RBI in 66 games. But Kendall is playing out of his skull - .331/.384/.510 with 9 HR and 34 RBI in 63 games. With 36K in the bank and a potential cash infusion of even more, we have identified a couple areas of need and are waiting patiently for the right players at the right price to make themselves known to us.

After complaining about the Arequipa Alpacas (62-72) mediocre performance, the team has gone and earned seven packs in the 36 hours since I put the phasers on blast. And really, with a pack-only team, isn't that the name of the game? You might look at their record and think they don't have a shot, but they are just 3 1/2 games out in an "anyone can win it" division where the leaders are three games under .500 - indeed, Pennant Chase gives the Alpacas a 10.3 chance of winning the division. The Alpacas have a .466 SOS for the stretch run.

The Lynn Live Oaks (78-55) crossed a milestone yesterday, as they have now acquired more than 50% of the Live cards available. They are also trying to make the playoffs for the first time in three seasons. The Oaks are two games out of first in ST160, NC West, with a four-game series coming up at home against the leading Fargo Syndicate. The Oaks also have a four-game lead in the WC race (7 games up on third) and a 98% chance of making the playoffs. Jeff Bagwell has been doing the business for the Live Oaks, crushing 38 homers in the friendly confines of Lynn Tricentennial Park as he makes a run at 50. Jose Ramirez needs one more homer for another 20/20 season (he has 41 SB) and Ian Kinsler needs four more SB for his own 20/20 season.

And finally, don't look now, but the Bibra Lake Quendas (69-64) are just 2 1/2 games out of the WC spot and have a 43% chance at the playoffs with a .470 SOS, in what was always supposed to be a season of consolidation in I175. With that in mind, I'm pleased about two things: that the Quendas are holding their own, and that a Future Legends collection mission didn't drop yesterday to send the prices of the cards skyrocketing once again.

Buffalo Zeniths are 100-33 in Iron 182, clinched the Division last night. Lots of live missions wrapping up and should finish the NL West, NL, and MLB today.

Now though, I have a monster stack of cards. I have only sold 1 non-double card.

Started the Gashouse Gorillas. An historical team who has been blundering in the Entry Pool and some Iron Tournaments this week.

An expansion team has been announced for the entry pool next week. The Sars Beach Murder Hornets.

Doing better than I thought at Diamond level...sitting just 2 games out of a playoff spot. I would love that 1,000 point bonus.

By the way, they do still put perfect cards in regular packs right??? There isn't some glitch in the system right?? I'm on a historic run of futility right now...historic.

I saw your post in another thread showing your 1.1m PP and was wondering why you weren't running away from me in our division! If it's any consolation, San Dimas have pulled 3 pretty average historical diamonds in the first 7 weeks. Not very inspiring

Yeah, for me the game is all about opening packs and the on the field stuff is secondary. I could obviously buy up a bunch of really good cards to do better, but then I don't have the thrill of opening and completing missions.

Also, I usually just let the AI select my lineups and stuff.

Heading into September, all three teams are in playoff contention.
The Bapho Mets rode a 17-9 August into first place in the NC East. There are nasty, vicious rumors floating about that their success was due to the ritual sacrifice of the marketing department due to that team's inability to maintain the club's logo. We can neither confirm nor deny that sacrifice at this time, but we do have several job openings that recently posted. The team currently holds a 2.5 game lead in the division at 76-58.

Over in Rookie 173, The Iron Manatees are slowly sinking back into the pack in the AC West. A 14-13 August saw their lead shrink to 7.5 games. They are also 1 game away from losing the best record in the AC. A failure to acquire any help via recent lottery picks isn't helping.

In Silver, a trip to the semi-finals of the Daily Bronze produced exactly 0 help, the resulting 4 packs yielding absolute trash through all 24 cards. A 13-14 August kept them firmly in second in the AC West, 5 games out of the lead, and only 3 games ahead for the 1st wild card spot. Davy Lopes at 2B is hitting an astounding .217, while a move to 3B has seen Robinson Cano's average also jump 30 points to .241. Jeff Bagwell, who seems to be the best player on every team, is providing an illustrious .261/13/50 this season.

Collingwood wrapped up the division this morning and Hamtramck is playing above .500 since solving the pitching snafu. I had inadvertently left 7-day lineups in place wreaking havoc.

Recently Collingwood hosted Susquehanna to a 3 game series to offer a foretaste (just guessing) of the S274 finals. The Soniqs have already won 120 games with a month to go. Game 1 opened 9-0 in favor of the Soniqs, but we managed to close the gap to lose by a more respectable 9-8. Game 2 we again fell behind early, but recovered to even take the lead before the conference-best bullpen blew it, 7-6. We salvaged game 3, 6-2, taking comfort in the fact we scored more runs over 27 innings.

No new players to add, but a shuffling brings Randy Johnson back to the starting rotation after seeing 3 separate ones leading the conference in ERA. He was stellar last week for me in silver, so no one remembers why he was sitting in the reserves all week.

D360: I Don't Want to Jinx Anything, But I Also Can't Help Myself

Here are the latest D360 standings. I want to post this and also not post this. I want to add that the Huntley Red Raiders were 47-50 at the All-Star Break and are 27-15 since, but I also don't want to add that, lest the mere mention upset whatever delicate balance the team has established. So, with absolutely no commentary at all (2.5 games out of a Wild Card spot!!!), I present the D360 standings.

It’s Chinatown’s first season in the gold league and we have a surprisingly large division lead going into the last month of the season; however, I’m worried about being promoted to diamond league as I don’t think my team is ready . I recently added Bob Gibson as my ace but as a F2P player I’m not sure if my squad can hang with the big boys. We shall see!

D360: OMG It's a Playoff Race!

So, continuing to totally not jinx this, the Red Raiders are now a mere half-game out of the Wild Card, with a 3-game series about to start at the Chicago Argyle Sox, the team that is said half-game up.

Totally not excited over here. Totally cool about this.

Well, Sun Kings totally fell apart. Before the all-star break we were 54-41. Since then we're 18-34. Fell the way from the division lead to 3 games back in 6th in the wild card race. Not quite out of it yet technically but there's a bunch of teams we have to climb over if we want to make the playoffs.

I'm so excited to see the surge from my Yaz in the last 15 games, where he takes his average from .220 up to .300 and drives the team forward on a championship run...

Expos and Tiger King maybe in playoff. Angels playing a good last month but they will miss some win to be in the wild card game.

Wyverns seem to be treading just above the relegation line yet again this week. Doesn't help improve the team that much since they aren't earning a lot of points. Thankfully, did get a QF finish in the Iron Weekly for the 83 Melvin/BJ Upton card, which is a decent upgrade all around against RHP. Bullpen really needs some help now...

Redlegs also riding steady with season win totals in the 70s. I did pull a 100 Pedro this week, but sadly, that will just sit on the shelf since Pedro never played for the Reds

PT20 Brutes are sitting around .500 in Diamond.

PT20 Redlegs will stay in Silver for the first time rather than yo-yoing back to Bronze.

Silver 264 is coming down to the wire for all 3 AC divisions.

The Cowardly Lions are on an 11 game winning streak and now lead the East by 1 game over Pharr Power with 4 games left for each team.

In the Central, WP Red Dawgs have a 2 game lead over the Boston BoSox with 4 games left for each.

In the West, the Manatees took 2 out of 3 from the Mizzou YakAnglers to open up a 2.5 game lead. The Seacows have 4 games left visiting some Smelly Beavers, while the Yaks have 3 at home against the East Vancouver Canadiens.

Mizzou and Mine Hill have clinched at least a wild card berth, with the 1st slot being locked up 1 win away for for Mizzou. Pharr Power holds a 2 game lead over Boston for the 2nd spot.
