Yeah, its just I cant buy it back if I respect that its a pack only club, but with the option to buy a historical pack and 10 regular packs..I will have a huge update on my team in general, many other position are weak in this club, and like you said, its surely overpriced right now.

Keep in mind some AH fishers are sifting with End Time (asc) and maybe NEG as well... They would have seen him listed immediately if that is what they are targeting. But yeah, maybe too low lol

Some desperate person listed a Fred Lynn for 44K, I had no choice but to snatch him up for the Angels, every Angel is a good Angel, no? Bye Bye SE Yaz, we love you but you are boring,

Have you picked up Daddy Wags yet? I'm guessing he wouldn't start but an Angels legend at any rate.

S263: So, August Could Have Gone Better

The standings below are from August 1 and from August 29 (ie, "today"). This has easily been the worst month the PT 21 Huntley Red Raiders have had. Here's hoping the boys can turn it around tomorrow in September...

I decided that as Paragon City Heroes weren't going to be making the playoffs it was time for a overhaul. Sold Live Trout, Toby Harrah, and a bunch of gold/silver historicals i'd collected in various pack openings, bought Barry Larkin (my all time favourite player) to train up at 3b, Dale Murphy, Lonnie Smith and Eddie Murray (its starting to sound like an 80s/90s theme team), training has taken its toll on my record and i'm now out of the promotion places

San Angeles 70s 63-70 moved into promotion place after a 17-8 month, clearly they are nowhere near capable of doing anything at a level above where they are now. hopefully we lose a few more this month

Lowdown Lugnuts 52-81 moving to a full groundball pitching staff and having everyone almost fully trained saw us go 15-12 to move out of the relegation places. Doesn't look like there is any real danger of anything other than staying where we are. the cause of most of this is probably Frank Robinsons bat rising from the grave, at the start of august he was hitting .197 with a .561 ops, he is now at .223 with a .664 ops. buck Herzog 52Sb is good for 2nd but at a much better % than the current leader Ichiro, if Buck got on more he'd easily be no1 but his .312 obp is lower than that Ichiros .327 ba. i'm expecting a tough season again next year as more overpowered collection teams filter through silver

As of September 1st in the Iron 167 the 10 playoffs teams are set as the Pennant chase had 100% for all contenders on the first sim on Saturday.

The LA Dodgers are overwhelming favorites as they are stacked! If they lose the championship you might see a post about how unfair the playoffs are? A topic many board members rarely see.

What do you mean, I've won 5 rings by exploiting unfairness, It's a feature!

Sadly my team is so stacked that there is little room for sentiment. We do have Brian Downing, Andy Messersmith, and now Mr Lynn.

Rebuilding via pack my Angels..but just hitting pitchers, relievers and closers. Josh Hader, Dellin Betances, Vic Raschi and Wilcy Moore. Only Gregg Jefferies for hitter that can help this club.

Pitchers with good stuff but lack of movement and control or starter with lack of stamina. But team play better overall.

The Mizzou Marathoners (112-40) clinched their division after a season long battle with the Yukon Silvers and Dayton Dragons. The Marathoners just recently started putting some separation between the teams, pulling away with a 15 game lead as of now. Despite the record, this has not been a great season for Mizzou, as just about everyone in the lineup is well below what is expected. Bagwell is hitting .279 with 26 HRs, Yaz is hitting .270 with 27 hrs, Ichiro comes in with a .297. Not horrible numbers but a lot of the same players across the league(s) are crushing it.

Wanted to add Rico Petrocelli, thought I did actually, but an AH bug said no chance! I'm sure it will be sorted out asap. Wouldn't of been so bad if I hadn't already spent all my PPs on SP and CF.

The YakAnglers (85-66) are desperately holding on to the final wildcard spot with a 3.5 game lead. The season started out great and we had a decent lead after a few weeks of play, but then the bottom fell out and we were in last place in the division after a long losing streak. Imagine first place when you leave for work and last place when you get home! A few changes were made (better relievers) and we started winning again.

Those Battle Corgis (50-100) are more than likely going to be relegated back to Iron where they belong, if not lower, before it ends. They sit 6 games back of the relegation zone, so barring some serious tanking they should be relegated. The silver pitchers I brought in did not help matters at all, I can't imagine how bad it would have been with the Bronze pitchers. Worse pack luck ever with this team.

S263: So, No Turnaround, Then

Warning: First-world problems ahead.

Aside from their 4 magical title runs, the original PT 19 Huntley Red Raiders were infamous for doing 1 of 2 things nearly every season: underperforming in the playoffs, or falling apart at the end of the regular season.

Sadly, as PT 19 winds down, those original Red Raiders have somehow managed to pass the worst of their legacy on to their successors.

Exhibit A: Despite finishing every season with one of the best records, if not the best record, in their league, the PT 20 Red Raiders are currently mired in their longest-ever titleless drought--and more significantly, have only made the Perfect Series once in those weeks. So they're checking off the "underperforming in the playoffs" box.

Exhibit B: The PT 21 Red Raiders...well...

White Tigers finish out of the playoffs at 74-88 and will remain in Gold.

Black Knights won their division in Stone.122 at 98-64 and will be the second seed. Syndergaard and Kershaw were second and third in pitcher wins in the conference, while Ron Reed was third in ERA and WAR. We led the conference in home runs, were second in runs allowed and starter ERA, and were third in runs scored, FIP and bullpen ERA. Finished a few missions, Winfield in particular was excellent, leading the team in OPS in about 2/3 of a season. Might finish up one or two more before the playoffs start.

Sun Kings finish at 96-66 in Bronze.232, which in the NC would have been the second best record, but is only 4th best in the AC and we will be the home wild card team, finishing second in the division by 1 game. Walters was third in wins and second in WAR. The team was second in home runs and third in runs scored, average, OBP, starter ERA, and FIP. Finished a bunch of missions, most notably getting Johnson, Nathan (who now has a 2.08 ERA as the new closer), Klein (1.025 OPS in 47 games), Kendall, Rosen, Williams, and Winfield.

Over in PT20, the White Tigers get hammered in the division by 36 games but get the wild card anyway at 103-59. Feller had a great season though, going 18-6 with a 2.89 ERA. Black Panthers finished third in the wild card, but it was by 26 games. Golden Lions win their division at 92-70 and will be the 3 seed; lots of parity in Gold.323 as the playoff teams are all between 87 and 98 wins. deGrom in his second season had a 2.89 ERA but only went 12-7; Waite Hoyt went 19-13.

For the second week in a row my teams were no fun to be around at all.

Metsies were in a middling Bronze division where four teams entered September within five games of first place. One collapsed, the other three all grabbed playoff spots - the Mets came third, four games out, and will play a wild card shuffle.

The Raccoons remain the essence of crummy in *Iron*. This week they ended up 82-80, drowned out by two 120+ win teams in their division. Unfortunately it looks like they're getting promoted, too...

Then I had a string of bad pack luck with them... how bad? Between 10 and 12 (not exactly sure) packs in a row without pulling as much as a silver card. This tacking on to how for the first two weeks every good card I broke from a pack was without fail a live corner infielder / DH type. Freeman, Sano, Rendon, Jose Ramirez, Yordan Alvarez ... I have ALL of them. Try building a team from that.

Yeah, it's been some rough humping around Portland.

At least they won three packs in the Daily Silver. That is the first tournament reap for me since opening weekend. And that first win back then was 200 PP, so I feel rough done by the dice-throwing baseball gods...

Speaking of dice, at least pack #2 FINALLY gave me a nice toy...
