1990 Season :
With a record 11th LBS win, Lingalie North conclude a disappointing decade in a relieving note. Last season, they were carried by a solid rotation with four starters over 4.5 WAR. Of these fantastic four, only two-times Golden Ball winner Delahaye and Ricardo Kimble are still there, as Ed Fajardo and Ruben Valentin left. Delahaye is obviously well-known but Kimble is a decent pitcher. He had 3.36 ERA, 243 K, 1.00 WHIP, and 4.6 WAR last season. The Nang Nius finished the decade as the franchise with most championships won in the 80's. Despite this fact, their lost in the LBS last year deepened the gap between them and the B&Y, in the quest of being the most successful franchise overall. From their rival, they acquired the LF Jesse Switzer, who had a great first season here after a couple of years spent in the MLB. "The Terminator" batted for .261/.384/.436 with 29 HR, 4.4 WAR and 91 RBI. He also led the league in BB with 112. Always delivering great seasons across the years, even if they have a smaller market, the Diamonds have established themselves as a safe bet of the league. After many years of rise in the league, the 2B Trigana Miujiza had a great season in 1989. He won the SL Ruby Award, as he batted for .275/.362/.397 with 31 doubles (league high) and a 6.2 WAR. Benefitting from the new league structure, the Jade Tigers have participated in playoffs for two years in a row. 25 yo LF Kistikumara Revati was prominent these past two season. He now has to confirm all the talent he had showed in the league. Last season, he finished with a batting line of .309/.360/.405 with 5.1 WAR. After an amazing division title in 1988, City took a step back with a 3rd place last season. The roster is filled with talent, and no doubt that there will be a fierce competition between the three franchises of Lingalie City in the Metro Division. Young 3B Aidan Harrison joined City as an international FA in 1988. The Englishman has showed some potential that could be useful to his team very soon. He batted for .239/.313/.386 with 18 HR, 87 RBI and 3.7 ERA last year. Higher expectations were placed on the Thunders, after their move from the l-league. So far, they were really deceiving, and it will be difficult for them to find a way to postseason in a tough division. The 1988 ML Linga Semi Final MVP Denny Larson was acquired last season from the Expendables. Larson is a 2B that were elected in both 1988 and 1989 ASG, he is a confirmed hitter, with a .309/.368/.378 last year in the disappointing team of Wayt Tides. Transactions/ FA : - Carlos Bermudez, 36 yo 1B, signed as a FA (DIA --> B&Y) a contract of 3 330 000 € in 3 y - Osmo Karppinen, 34 yo 1B, signed as a FA (B&Y --> TSH) a contract of 6 720 000 € in 4 y - Wing-tat Tsai, 32 yo SP, opted-out of his contract and signed as a FA (TSH --> LNN) a contract of 12 280 000 € in 5 y - Jagad Tarpa, 37 yo RF, signed as a FA (SST --> SF (MLB)) a contract of 412 000 € in 1 y - Ruben Valentin, 29 yo SP, signed as a FA (B&Y --> FRE) a contract of 6 360 000 € in 4 y - Filip Zadunov, 26 yo 1B, signed as a FA (MAP --> SST) a contract of 14 240 000 € in 8 y - Anwa Zhao, 28 yo SS, was trade (CITY --> B&Y) for SP E.Fajardo, SS E.Wu and LF R.Khatabi a contract of 3 330 000 € in 3 y - Jesse Switzer, 37 yo LF, signed as a FA (B&Y --> LNN) a contract of 7 680 000 € in 3 y Managerial changes : CITY Ryan Sebra only last one season as the manager of City. He will now coach the Unkünft Kernels in the r-league. Dempsey Grover is promoted after 6 years as a bench coach. LNN Paul McCarthy (1982-) FRE Harvey Kuenn (1984-) THU Fidel Pena (1989-) CITY Dempsey Grover(1990-) TSH Anderson Rosario (1984-) MAP Jordan Berry (1988-) WHE Ahmed Wiese (1988-) GRE Matt Curry (1989-) DIA Alejandro Zamora (1979-) B&Y Andrew Lefave (1981-) BEA Hugues Chopin (1988-) SST Donn Clendenon(1989-) LGG Yellel Cooper (1986-) JDT Daniel Albritton (1987-) SEAG Ernie Banks (1988-) GDD Yic Xu (1988-)
Moon League And the 1990 ML Moon division winner is the Freros. They won more than 100 games two years in a row. This year, their DH Alex Nunez did an excellent season, he notably lead the whole league in SB. Last season, City missed the playoffs one game behind the Nang Nius, but this year the roles were reversed, as City returned in postseason. It is only the third time in the entire league history that the Nang Nius missed postseason. The Thunders finished last again. Green District had the best record this year with an impressive mark of 112 wins. The super rookie Moussier de Jong, coming from the Netherlands, made a great splash in the league, as he won both the Golden Ball and the Silver Glove. A team will discover the playoffs this year, as the Maple Leaves manage to clinch a berth with their best season ever. After their two great postseason runs, Narballo finished 6 games behind. Another poor season for the Wheelies. Sun League The race was close this year, but all the teams finished in the same place again as last year. The gap between the three first teams is slowly closing, but the acquisition of Kyle Petrillo last year was a sign that the Silver Eagles is trying to keep their advance on their opponents. The Black&Yellows took back their crown with a season over 100 wins. Delahaye won his third straight Golden Ball and the Triple Crown to confirm his great talent. The Diamonds and the Sea Stars both do worse than last year, and the Diamonds were still able to finish ahead to play the playoffs again.
SP Abebaw Cyilima was the first choice of the Maple Leaves in this season draft. The pitcher from Huangjia will have the opportunity to play in his hometown, as the Huangjia Wizards is the AA-team of the Maple Leaves.
Moon League Notable players that make their debut in the ASG : Moussier de Jong(GRE), Chee Hwa-er(FRE), Ji-e Jung(GRE), Jesse Switzer(LNN) Luis Loeza (FRE) makes a noticeable comeback after missing last year. Players like River Ford(LNN), Myung-gu Kim(FRE), Akira Kazama(LNN), Dave Jackman(CITY), Omar Almendarez(LNN), Mike Jackson(GRE), Yun-qi Chu(CITY), Alex Nunez(FRE), Robin Britton(LNN), Shuichi Mizusawa(CITY) are once again selected in the ML team. Sun League First honors for Anwa Zhao(B&Y), Teshome Shakes(LGG), Rudolf Palenik(DIA), Tamerat Jemadari(DIA), Kahsay Nguvumali(DIA) & João Kamiya(GDD) Returns of many players including Kyle Petrillo(SEAG), Herman Strazzer(SEAG), Carlos Garica(SEAG), Cesar Gomez(SST), Carlos Bermudez(B&Y), Kevin Delahaye(B&Y), Michel Dubost(SST), Filip Zadunov(SST), Roberto Enriquez(JDT) This year, the event took place in the Bee Nest, the new stadium of the Black&Yellows. The Moon League dominated their opponent. It is now 2-1 for the ML in the ASG history.

Who were the best players this year ? Moon League : Sun League : ML: Harvey Kuenn won his second championship with the Freros as their manager. To conclude this amazing season, he was named manager of the year in the Moon League. SL: Another manager of the year award for Andrew Lefave, the skipper of the Black&Yellows. He guided his team to a 2nd LBS, despite losing it, his team delivered high performances this season.
note : SL=Sun League, ML=Moon League, CD=Coast Division, OD= Outlands Division, CVD=Colourful Valley Division, MD=Metro Division Linga Quarter-Finals Series DIA(2nd SL CD) vs GRE(1st ML OD) JDT(2nd SL CVD) vs FRE(1st ML MD) CITY(2nd ML MD) vs B&Y(1st SL CD) MAP (2nd ML OD) vs SEAG(1st SL CVD) 2nd postseason series played between the Diamonds and the Expendables after 1988. The result was the same, as Green District advanced to the next stage with a 3-2 victory. After their defeat last season against the Jade Tigers, the Freros had a rematch series. And they completely get their revenge as they swept off their opponent. Another sweep happened in these Quarter-Finals Series : Lingalie North against City. Finally, the newcomer Orange nearly got their first win in a playoff Series as they lost 3-2 to the Silver Eagles. Linga Semi-Final Series GRE vs FRE B&Y vs SEAG In the first Series, old rivals will face each other : the Freros and the Expendables. They only played 2 playoffs Series together before : the first LBS in 1960 and the 1969 LBS, for one win for both sides. This year, the Freros emerge victorious with a 4-1 result and access the LBS. The other Series is also unusual, as Lingalie North and Boubi Town only played against each other in the 1978 LBS for a victory from the Black&Yellows. They keep their record clean as they sweep the Silver Eagles to be able to defend their title in the LBS. Linga Baseball Series FRE vs B&Y On one side, the Freros which made two consecutive great seasons after some disappointing seasons. On the other side, the defending champions, the Black&Yellows which have not lost a game in this year postseason. In previous oppositions in postseason, the Black&Yellows won 3 out of the 5 Series that did happened between these teams. But for the 6th series, the Freros get even and won their 4th championship title by winning the LBS 4 games to 1 !. A glance of the players behind this title :

l-league (AAA) : Division winners : - l-LL Azure : Pinehearth Explosion (1st) - l-LL Cyan : Zappir Phoenix (3rd) - l-DL Sapphir: Briggs Buccaneers (7th) - l-DL Marine: Maykrafth Iron Wolves (5th) Playoffs : N.B: the Iron Horses are the Iron Wolves, they were renamed when I took this screenshot. All Quarter-final Series ended with a sweep, while all Semi-final Series went to Game 7. The Specials won their 2nd league title after 1982 against the Jewels. The team from Emerald is still looking for a first victory in the LFS after three attempts. r-league (AA) : Division winners : - r-RL Square : Creugré Mocking Birds (5th) - r-RL Heart : Galia Suns (6th) - r-BL Spade: Blaum Turtles (10th) - r-BL Club: Lingalia Mammoths (8th) Playoffs : In the r-league, the Lingalia Mammoths have more than confirmed their status of favorites, as they capture their 4th championship. Only the Suns and the Junglers have more titles, and the Turtles have four as well. The Neutrons almost got their hands on another trophy, 2 years after their victory in their initial season.
In the MLB, the Pirates won their second championship. Thus, they will compete against the Freros in Seattle for the ICS. In 5 games, the franchise won their 2nd ICS title. The franchise from MLB has not won the ICS since 1974.
SS Robert Puason (76,3 %), a member of the great team that won 10 championships(B&Y 1966-81) was inducted in the HoF. He won 6 Ruby Awards : 2 as DH (1971-72) and 4 as SS (1974 and 1977-79). His lifetime stats are .269/.341/.471, 1390 H, 249 HR, 824 RBI, 35.6 WAR in 1336 G.

1991 Season :
After two great seasons, the Freros laid their hands on their 4th title. Their roster is full of talent, and it will not be surprised if they would end up winning again this year. Their ace Luis Loeza quickly rose to the top, as he joined only in 1987 at 21. He dominated the league in strikeout for the three last years. Last season, he also led in wins (19), K/9 (9.9) and BABIP (.250) The Black&Yellows perfectly ended the decade after some average seasons. They will again be the biggest favorites in the Sun League. What an incredible season Anwa Zhao had. The SS acquired in a trade last year, led the league in AVG (.325), RBI (123) and WAR (8.3) and won his first Ruby Award. All the 1988 expansion teams struggle to exist in the league at the moment. Stonegap is not an exception, the Wheelies is the only one to have finished higher than fourth of their division though. Since the team's debuts, the catcher Josh Kruger played an important role in the team. Last season, he was able to achieve 2.8 WAR, 10 HR, and a batting line of .258/.311/.367 despite the awful season. Finally in postseason after 15 seasons, the Maple Leaves would want to pursue their rise. After a steady career with City, 2B Daniel Flores needed a year of adjustment with the Maple before performing at the same level. Last year, he achieved a batting line of .274/.337/.430 with 19 HR and 4.3 WAR. He was rewarded with a Ruby award for his offensive production. The franchise based in Lingalia acquired an experienced player, namely Xing-yun Cheng from the Freros. His main goal is to help his team to clinch a postseason berth. The Green Goblins will also count on others confirmed players, like Teshome Shakes, 23. The South African 2B is known for his defensive and his base-stealing skills. He stole 139 bases since his major league debuts in 1985 and won a Sapphir award for the last three seasons. Surely the most solid contender in the Colourful Valley division, the Silver Eagles had gather many talents to constitute their team. After a short but great career in the MLB, Kyle Petrillo successfully landed in the LBL. The catcher won the Golden Glove with an amazing batting line of .389/.561/.950 (league high in each stat), 34 HR, 93 RBI, 142 H and 7.2 WAR. Transactions/ FA : - Xing-yun Cheng, 28 yo 3B, signed as a FA (FRE --> LGG) a contract of 12 600 000 € in 4 y - Omar Almendarez, 34 yo SP, decline option of his contract and signed as a FA (LNN --> BEA) a contract of 14 600 000 € in 5 y - Javier Cisneros, 31 yo SP, signed as a FA (DIA --> TSH) a contract of 15 600 000 € in 6 y Managerial changes : LNN Paul McCarthy retired last year after a career of 25 years. He successfully guided his team to three championships in the 80's. To continue the good work, his bench coach Matunde Gillam was promoted to the coach position. THU Fidel Pena was fired after two disappointing seasons. He had find another job, as bench coach for the Diamonds. Taylor Morton will replace him for his first managing job. SST Donn Clendenon only lasted two years as manager of the Sea Stars. The franchise from Anslos has been looking for a skipper with little success. This year, a confirmed manager was appointed, as the winner of the 1988 LBL Oberdan Diaz accepted the Sea Stars offer. GDD Yic Xu will not coach the Golden Dragons another year. He was there since the franchise debut. Previously manager of the Fishermen in the r-league, Nolan Clark will have a chance to prove his skills in the LBL. FRE Harvey Kuenn (1984-) CITY Dempsey Grover (1990-) LNN Matunde Gillam (1991-) THU Taylor Morton (1991-) TSH Anderson Rosario (1984-) MAP Jordan Berry (1988-) WHE Ahmed Wiese (1988-) GRE Matt Curry (1989-) DIA Alejandro Zamora (1979-) B&Y Andrew Lefave (1981-) BEA Hugues Chopin (1988-) SST Oberdan Diaz (1991-) LGG Yellel Cooper (1986-) JDT Daniel Albritton (1987-) SEAG Ernie Banks (1988-) GDD Nolan Clark (1991-)
Moon League This year, two teams were crowned champions of the Metro division : the Nang Nius and their rivals the Freros. I still don't know how the game handle this, but the Nang Nius were awarded the #1 seed without them playing a tiebreaker. It was also a fierce competition between their best players to win the Golden Ball, but Jesse Switzer end up winning it, Nunez was not far behind him. City fell 8 games-shy of a another postseason appearance. The Thunders once again lost more than 100 games. In the Outlands, the Expendables continued to outrageously dominate the division. Their defence was rock-solid, their catcher D. Hesse was stellar and won the Sapphire Award at his position. Behind, the Maple Leaves were able to achieve another winning season to play the playoffs again. Narballo ended with a .500 average, 4 games behind. The Wheelies finished last another year. Sun League The Silver Eagles were the sole winner of the newly Colourful Valley division, but this year they were only win away from postseason. Indeed, the Lingalia Green Goblins won their first division title ever and will return in postseason 4 years after their winning run, they were followed by the Jade Tigers. Lingalia could rely on their star signing, Xing-yun Cheng who won the Golden Glove, but also on Victor Sira, the best closer of the SL this year. The Golden Dragons finished dead last with an atrocious .235 average, they will pick first in next year's Draft. For the 4th year straight, the Black&Yellows and the Diamonds are the teams that clinched a postseason berth in the Coast division. Despite not winning the Golden Ball this year, Kevin Delahaye was still precious as Lingalie North's Ace. Tony Aviles also had a more than decent season. The Sea Stars and the Bears kept their positions, despite individual satisfaction for some of their players. Kuronga is the only 1988 expansion team to not lose more than 100 games.
The Bears picked a LF for their first choice, Wagih Hatari.
Moon League Newly elected all-star : P. T. Maedgen(MAP), Rhys Lawless(CITY), Daniel Flores(MAP). Players like Chee-hwa Er(FRE), Ji-e Jung(GRE), Jesse Switzer(LNN), River Ford(LNN), Myung-gu Kim(FRE), Akira Kazama(LNN), Dave Jackman(CITY), Yun-qi Chu(CITY), Alex Nunez(FRE), Robin Britton(LNN), Luis Loeza(FRE), Carl Leeson(GRE) make their return in the ML team. Sun League First selection in the SL for the Golden glove winner Xing-yun Cheng(LGG), Omar Almendarez(BEA), they have appeared in the ASG as ML players in the past. For Huang Lin(SST), it is the first time he is elected to the event. Closer Victor Sira (LGG) made a notable return after being out of last year ASG. Returning players include Anwa Zhao(B&Y), Rudolf Palenik(DIA), Kahsay Nguvumali(DIA), Kyle Petrillo(SEAG), Herman Strazzer(SEAG), Carlos Garica(SEAG), Kevin Delahaye(B&Y), Michel Dubost(SST), Filip Zadunov(SST), Roberto Enriquez(JDT) & Harris Nash(B&Y) No league has taken the lead so far, as the Sun League won their second game to tie the Moon League. The game took place in the BDX Stadium, home of the Green Goblins.

note : SL=Sun League, ML=Moon League, CD=Coast Division, OD= Outlands Division, CVD=Colourful Valley Division, MD=Metro Division Linga Quarter-Finals Series DIA(2nd SL CD) vs GRE(1st ML OD) JDT(2nd SL CVD) vs LNN(1st ML MD) FRE(2nd ML MD) vs B&Y(1st SL CD) MAP(2nd ML OD) vs LGG(1st SL CVD) The Expendables and the Diamonds met once again in the Quarter-Finals stage. Green District swept their opponent and won the opposition again. A closer series were played between the Nang Nius and the Jade Tigers, as the franchise from Lingalie City advance to the next round in game 5. The teams that played in last year LBS faced each other early this season. Lingalie North managed to get even with the Freros with a tough 3-2 victory. The last series is a previously unseen confrontation between the Maple Leaves and the Green Goblins. Surprisingly, the Orange Maple Leaves defeated Lingalia to advance to the Linga Semi-Finals for the first time in their history. It is the only team to not have won their division. Linga Semi-Final Series GRE vs LNN B&Y vs MAP A classic opposition between the Nang Nius and the Expendables for the first semi-final. The Series was very disputed, in the end, Lingalie City managed to win it 4-3 to take part in their 2nd LBS in 3 years. The other semi-final saw the Maple Leaves challenge the B&Y. No good surprise for Orange, as Lingalie North will return to the LBS for the third year straight. Linga Baseball Series LNN vs B&Y Remake of the 1989 LBS, the two teams with the most championships in the league faced each other again this year. Constant victim of the Nang Nius postseason success in the 80's, it seems that Lingalie North has learnt how to deal with them, as they captured their 12th championship title ! A glance of the players behind this title :
Who were the best players this year ? Moon League : Sun League : ML: In his third year as manager of the Expendables, Matt Curry won his first award after winning his 4th division title in 4 years. SL: Andrew Lefave was named for the fourth time manager of the year after he led the Black&Yellow to another division title. It is his second in a row.

l-league (AAA) : Division winners : - l-LL Azure : Wayt County Bobcats (7th) - l-LL Cyan : Zappir Phoenix (4th) - l-DL Sapphir: Emerald Jewels (2nd) - l-DL Marine: Lutia Vikings (2nd) Playoffs : The Bobcats are the winners of the 1991 LFS, it is their third championship. They defeated the Iron Wolves, the Phoenix and the Vikings in their road to victory. r-league (AA) : Division winners : - r-RL Square : Vertecolline Junglers (3th) - r-RL Heart : Blaum Turtles (11th) - r-BL Spade: Orange Challengers (4th) - r-BL Club: Narballo Gators (5th) Playoffs : Despite being present since the beginning of the league, the Junglers won their division for the third time only. They ended a drought of 24 years, as their last title came in 1967. They also ended another drought by winning the OS for the first time since 1976.
In the MLB, the Cardinals won their third World Series, after 1977 and 1982. They lost both ICS these years against the Expendables. This season in Huangjia, they were opposed to the Black&Yellows and put up a decent opposition. Unfortunately for St Louis, the Lingalie North did won the series in Game 7.
CL Tomokazu Yoshikawa (86,7 %) has spent 13 of his 17 seasons (1969-85) as a Silver Eagles player. He is their first inducted player and was part of the winning team of 1980. He is the number one pick of the 1969 draft. Individually, Yoshikawa won two Silver Ball. In his 740 games and 1299.0 IP, he compiled 191 SV, 2.72 ERA 1.17 WHIP, 1703 K, 586 BB and 43.2 WAR

1992 Season :
Three LBS appearances for two championships and it looks like the biggest franchise is back in the game. Not usually the first name to come out about the Black&Yellows, but 3B Julian Little is an important piece of Lingalie North since 1985. He won a Quarter-Finals MVP last year as well as his second All-star nomination. He lead the league with 112 BB. Since the division split, the Nang Nius are less dominant, even in their own division. Nevertheless, they are always a contender to win the championship. Their 1B, the power-hitter, Jorge Leija won the Semi-finals MVP award last season, he had 36 HR, 111 RBI, and a .496 SLG. Despite their owner's ambitions, the Kuronga Bears had only been disappointing. There is still a long path to surpass their rival, the Black&Yellows. 2B Ka-fei Li was acquired after a breakout season, when he won both a Sapphire and a Ruby Award in 1988. After a rough start, Li is back on his tracks, as he batted for .297/.345/.350 with 4.5 WAR. Taking part regularly in postseason since the last expansion, the Jade Tigers had not appeared as a serious contender to the final title. Can they take a step further to won the championship ? Signed from South Africa, Kistikumara Revati had delivered decent results in the last few years. Last season, his batting line was .317/.355/.368 with 155 hits. Still looking for a playoff berth since 1988, the Sea Stars will surely wake up eventually, as their roster is gaining in skill and experience. It took only 3 years for Huang Lin to conquer th league. Silver Glove winner in 1989, Golden Ball winner last season, the young pitcher showed great potential. He led the league with 2.29 ERA, 10.9 K/9 and 6.8 WAR. The Tattoed Sharks could be the surprise of the season, their underdog status suit them perfectly. Acquired last season, Golden Ball winner Javier Cisneros showed that he was worth the trust. He led the league in his favorites stats : 36 GS and 1.1 BB/9, it is the third time in four years. He also had a 3.42 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 119 K and 6.2 WAR. Transactions/ FA : - Soo-Yeon Kim, 36 yo C, was traded (SST --> MAP) for 1B I.Ramadhani (1 year left) - Ruben Valentin, 31 yo SP, was traded (FRE --> DET(MLB)) for LF T.Raiford & 1B Y.Ta (1 year left) - Roberto Revilla, 32 yo CF, opted out of his contract and signed as a FA (DIA --> LGG) a contract of 14 000 000 € in 5 y - Filip Zadunov, 28 yo 1B, opted out of his contract and signed as a FA (SST --> SEAG) a contract of 17 200 000 € in 5 y - Trigana Miujiza, 32 yo 2B, was traded (DIA --> CLE(MLB)) with 15k€ for SP J.Humphries & RP J.Rathwell (4 years left) - Denny Larson, 28 yo 2B, was traded (THU --> SST) for C M.Collins, 1B I.Heri & SS M.Mwai (1 year left) Managerial changes : There had been many managerial changes this season, 8 out of 16 teams have appointed a new manager, the most I have witnessed so far : DIA The legendary coach and Hall-of-famer Alejandro Zamora retired after 12 seasons as the manager of the Diamonds. Despite not losing a championship, Zamora did qualify his team 8 times out of 12, a great performance for a small-market franchise. He was the only manager that began his job in the 70's. Miguel Brito, without any past experience as manager will try to fill the void made by Zamora departure. CITY Dempsey Grover has accepted the Expos'offer to became their manager in the MLB. He is then no longer in charge of City. Manny Mota was chosen for his minutious tactical preparations to be the manager of City. LGG Yellel Cooper will not manage the Green Goblins another year. His bench coach Min-soo Lee was promoted and will seek more success than his previous manager position with the Jade Tigers in 1985, when he lasted only one year. THU Taylor Morton was fired during the 1991 season after 137 games. He will pursue his career in the minor leagues affiliated to the MLB. Hunter Bailey finished the season last year and will continue his job there. He previously managed the Texas Rangers for four year with little success. LNN Despite reaching the LBS, Matunde Gillam was disposed of after only one season. Manager of the Freros in 1963-64, Jose Mayorga is most known for his job as bench coach for the LNN (73-76), the GRE (78-85) and the A's (86-89). He will have a second chance to become a manager in the LBL. TSH Anderson Rosario retired after 8 years as the head coach of Narballo. The fans will remember his LBS appearance in 1988. 50 years old Rubel Cespedes was designed as his successor MAP Jordan Berry's contract ended without any extension. To replace him, the Maple Front Office had appointed Gregory Paulino. He had accomplished two decent seasons with the Padres in the MLB, finishing 3rd then 2nd of his division. BEA The expectations were big for the Bears but the team had not meet any of them yet, as a result Hugues Chopin was fired after 4 awful seasons. Previously bench coach for the Nang Nius and the B&Y, Austin Bibens-Dirkx will have his chance to prove himself in the role of manager. FRE Harvey Kuenn (1984-) CITY Manny Mota (1992-) LNN Jose Mayorga (1992-) THU Hunter Bailey (1992-) WHE Ahmed Wiese (1988-) GRE Matt Curry (1989-) TSH Rubel Cespedes (1992-) MAP Gregory Paulino (1992-) B&Y Andrew Lefave (1981-) SST Oberdan Diaz (1991-) BEA Austin Bibens-Dirkx (1992-) DIA Miguel Brito (1992-) JDT Daniel Albritton (1987-) SEAG Ernie Banks (1988-) GDD Nolan Clark (1991-) LGG Min-soo Lee (1992-)
Moon League The Freros won their fourth straight Metro division. In addition to the stars already there, they could count on rookie of the year Rhett Dobbs who pitched really well. The competition between the Lingalie City franchises was still fierce, as City finished 6 games behind, and the Nang Nius 10 games. As usual, the Thunders are last. In the Outlands division, Green District reigns and no other teams seem to match with their authority. The Big Green Machine was the only team with a positive record in the division. Their 2B Ji-e Jung showed the league his class and won the Golden Glove The Tatooed Sharks finished second, ahead of the Maple and the Wheelies, will return in playoffs Sun League Lingalia kept their division crown this year. The Goblins had the best closer of the league, Victor Sira. Behind, it was a tight race between the rivals from Boubi Town. The Jade Tigers finished 1 game ahead, and will play the playoffs again for the 5th year straight. The Golden Dragons finished with the worst record of both leagues, and won the right to pick first in next Draft. After a couple of years of instability, it seems the Sea Stars had found itself, as they successfully won their 4th division title, with only 2-games shy of a 100 wins season. For the second playoff berth, the Black&Yellows managed to clinch it, at the cost of the Diamonds. Kuronga had another really bad season.
Pitcher Bill Dolby was the first choice of the Golden Dragons. The American will join the Dragons' rookie team, the Neutrons.
Moon League First appearance in the ML team for these players : Rhett Dobbs(FRE), Bayisa Adesola(MAP), [B]Moussier de Jong|/B](GRE), Javier Cisneros(TSH), Soo-yeon Kim(MAP) and Run-ming Sun(LNN). Players like Daniel Flores(MAP), Chee-hwa Er(FRE), Ji-e Jung(GRE), Jesse Switzer(LNN), Yun-qi Chu(CITY), Alex Nunez(FRE), Robin Britton(LNN), Luis Loeza(FRE), Carl Leeson(GRE) are back to help the ML win. Sun League Absents last year, they were able to be elected again this season : Cesar Gomez(LGG) and Rafael de Luna(DIA) First honors for Tony Aviles(B&Y), Ka-fei Li(BEA) (he played in the 1988 ASG for the ML), Fernando Nieto(GDD) Returning players include Ian Bostock(SST), Huang Lin(SST), Victor Sira (LGG), Xing-yun Cheng(LGG), Rudolf Palenik(DIA), Kahsay Nguvumali(DIA), Kyle Petrillo(SEAG), Herman Strazzer(SEAG), Carlos Garica(SEAG), Michel Dubost(SST), Roberto Enriquez(JDT), Jérôme Imbert & Harris Nash(B&Y) Unfortunately, I have lost the result of this season ASG, so sorry about that -_-. It is also the same for the 1993 ASG. So there is a two year void in history, and no one knows which league won the ASG

Another confrontation between the Freros and the Jade Tigers happened this year. The Freros end up winning it. For their return in postseason, the Sea Stars are welcomed by City. Linga Bay swept their opponent for their first playoff series in 7 years. Truly doing well in postseason, the Tattoed Sharks won their series against Lingalia. In 3 appearances, they never lost in a Linga Quarter-finals Series. Linga Semi-Final Series B&Y vs FRE SST vs TSH For the third consecutive year, the Freros meet the Black & Yellow in the playoffs. Each side won one series. The Freros won this season's series and advance to the LBS. Another unseen matchup in postseason, the two coastal cities of Anslos and Narballo faced each other. The Sea Stars confirmed their great season, and qualify to the next round without losing a single game in postseason. Linga Baseball Series FRE vs SST These two teams have met three times in the playoffs, including the 1981 LBS. The Freros lead the confrontation with 2 wins. But the Sea Stars showed so much dominance in this postseason. It seems the Freros may knew how to handle them, as they swept the undefeated Sea Stars to win their 5th championship ! A glance of the players behind this title :
Who were the best players this year ? Moon League : Sun League : ML: Matt Curry won back-to-back manager of the year award in the Moon League. SL: He brought the Sea Stars back in postseason with an astonishing regular season and lead them straight into the LBS, Oberdan Diaz was the best manager of the 1992 season in the SL.

l-league (AAA) : Division winners : - l-LL Azure : Wayt County Bobcats (8th) - l-LL Cyan : Zappir Phoenix (5th) - l-DL Sapphir: La Croisée Bullets (8th) - l-DL Marine: Maykrafth Iron Wolves (6th) Playoffs : The Specials played and won the LFS for the 3rd time in 10 years (for 5 attempts) against the Androids. The Androids have now lost 6 LFS in 9 participations. r-league (AA) : Division winners : - r-RL Square : Vertecolline Junglers (4th) - r-RL Heart : Blaum Turtles (12th) - r-BL Spade: Galia Suns (7th) - r-BL Club: Lingalia Mammoths (9th) Playoffs : After 1987, the Unkünft Kernels advanced again to the OS. And the similarities don't stop here, as they lost it as well. The Lingalia Mammoths were crowned for the fifth time and is now the third team with the most championships in the r-league.
A new section for my yearly recap : the MLB playoffs. I will not dwell to much on it though but it will introduces the team that will play the ICS as well. For this first year, the Orioles, the Angels, the Braves and the Cards clinched a playoff berth. Looking into the past years, it seems that St Louis and Atlanta were the most successfull franchises in the recent years. They faced each other in the LCS, and St Louis will have a chance to defend their title. In the other series, the Angels defeated the Orioles in game 5. The California Angels won their fourth MLB championship by sweeping the Cardinals !
This season, the event took place in Houston, Texas. In their homeland, the Angels were able to defeat the Freros and to end the LBL winning streak. They actually were the last MLB team to win the ICS, back in 1974. As in 1992, only two teams from the MLB won an ICS : California and Detroit.
There were four new HoFer inducted this season : - SP Alex Hernandez (98.5%) played for the B&Y 15 years (1970-1984) where he won 7 championships before playing for various teams including the Chicago White Sox. Individually, he has 4 Golden Ball, all won in row from 1976 to 1979 and 4 Sapphire Awards won from 1979 to 1982. He retired with 224 wins and 131 losses, 2998 K, 3.26 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 71.1 WAR in 3215.0 IP - CL Sergio Banuelos (94.6%) had a similar career as Hernandez. Banuelos started his career at the B&Y in 1969 before leaving in 1982. He played in two different teams during two years before settling in Pittsburgh to end his career. As a result, Banuelos won 7 LBL championships with the B&Y and 3 MLB championships with the Pirates. He also won a Silver Ball in 1983, while playing for the Diamonds. Banuelos compiled a 96-65 record, with 335 SV, 2.48 ERA, 1442 K, 1.05 WHIP and 38.5 WAR. - CL Amsalu Leake (90.7%) is the first Lingalian to be in the HoF. He was inducted as a Diamonds' player (1975-81) but he also played for other teams, in particular the Nang Nius, with who he won two championships in 1983 and 1984 and a Silver Ball in 1984. Leake has a 43-42 record, 289 SV, 2.01 ERA, 971 K, 1.00 WHIP and 36.1 WAR. - RP Alex Frias (71.2%) is a Nang Nius new inductee. He played for them from 1975 to 1981 and in 1983. Frias won two Silver Ball in 1977 and 1978 and two LBL championships (in 1984 and in 85 with the Freros). His career stats are : 63-58, 128 SV, 2.65 ERA, 1271 K, 1.22 WHIP and 23.8 WAR.

1993 Season :
Two championships in three years for the Freros. With 5 trophies, they now aim to surpass their neighbours, the Nang Nius, which have 8 titles. Alfredo Sifuentes had taken part in 4 of these championships. The closer that started his career in Lingalie City in 1979 has his best years behind him but he can still delivers efficient pitching. Last season, he had 41 saves, only one shy of his personal record, a 2.85 ERA, 91 K, 1.27 WHIP. Surprising runner-ups, the Sea Stars may was the most dominant team of past season, and no doubt that the defeat in the LBS is still bitter. Young LF Ian Bostock may only be 24, but he already been in the league for 5 years. Bostock showed great potential and won his first Ruby Award last season with a .262/.365/.388 batting line, 16 HR, 85 RBI & 28 SB. Like all the 1988 expansion team, the Golden Dragons have yet to achieve a winning season. The Golden District at least had a player elected in last year ASG, RF Fernando Nieto. The Spanish player led the league with 35 doubles. Overall, he batted for .303/.364/.390 with 2.9 WAR. No other team in the Outlands division is likely to outclass Green District. The team is still the only winner of the division. Starting pitcher Moussier de Jong won his second Golden Ball last year. He led the league with 2.27 ERA and 0.3 HR/9. The Dutch also had 1.13 WHIP, 204 K, 5.7 WAR in his fourth season in the league. Since last expansion, City were able to regularly compete for playoff berths. Their roster is a mix of young but already performant prospects like Yun-qi Chu, or Rhys Lawless and experienced players like Kei Shibuya or Shuichi Mizusawa. The latter joined as a FA from Japan in 1989, winning the Silver Glove. After a missed 1991 season, due to injury, the 2B came back to his standards, as he batted for .297/.372/.379 with 4.2 WAR last year. The last two seasons, the Silver Eagles were overshadowed by the Jade Tigers and the Green Goblins. The Silver Eagles offseason were noticed with the signing of Denny Larson, who won the batting title with the Sea Stars with .343. Larson is a proficient hitter, as he was also the leaders in hits. Transactions/ FA : - Ka-fei Li, 30 yo 2B, signed as a FA (BEA --> SST) a contract of 16 960 000 € in 7 y - Daniel Flores, 33 yo 2B, opted out of his contract and signed as a FA (MAP --> BEA) a contract of 12 600 000 € in 5 y - Kahsay Nguvumali, 28 yo LF, opted out of his contract and signed as a FA (DIA --> LNN) a contract of 15 200 000 € in 4 y - Harris Nash, 31 yo C, opted out of his contract and signed as a FA (B&Y --> LGG) a contract of 19 400 000 € in 5 y - Anwa Zhao, 31 yo SS, signed as a FA (B&Y --> SST) a contract of 15 600 000 € in 4 y - Denny Larson, 29 yo 2B, signed as a FA (SST --> SEAG) a contract of 19 880 000 € in 7 y Managerial changes : FRE Harvey Kuenn launched what may be the best era of the Freros with three championships since 1984. Kuenn retired on a league title. Cuevas, an unknown manager in the league, will seek to pursue Kuenn's hard work. BEA Austin Bibens-Dirkx only lasted one season as the manager of Kuronga. Unproven Miguel Vega was appointed to take Bibens-Dirkx's job. LGG Despite a successful season, Min-soo Lee parted ways with Lingalia. 40 years old Imara will have his first chance in the LBL. GDD Nolan Clark was fired after another dissappointing year. He will try to bounce back by managing a team in the A-league of the US. His bench coach Nick Mould has been promoted to replace him. CITY Manny Mota (1992-) LNN Jose Mayorga (1992-) THU Hunter Bailey (1992-) FRE Felix Cuevas (1993-) WHE Ahmed Wiese (1988-) GRE Matt Curry (1989-) TSH Rubel Cespedes (1992-) MAP Gregory Paulino (1992-) B&Y Andrew Lefave (1981-) SST Oberdan Diaz (1991-) DIA Miguel Brito (1992-) BEA Miguel Vega (1993-) JDT Daniel Albritton (1987-) SEAG Ernie Banks (1988-) GDD Nick Mould (1993-) LGG Wolde-Selassie Imara (1993-)
Moon League 2nd division crown for City. The franchise got more than 100 wins and will now seek success in postseason. The young Rhys Lawless was vital this season, as he was named the 1993 SL MVP. The Freros finished only three games ahead of the Nang Nius and will have a chance to defend their title. The Thunders finished last another season. The Expendables are still unchallenged as they captured another division title. De Jong was as dominant as last year and won his third Golden Ball. The Wheelies started the season really well, but unfortunately for them, they could not keep the pace and ended up behind the Maple Leaves. Narballo took the last place with nearly 100 losses. Sun League A tight race between the Green Goblins, the Silver Eagles and the Jade Tigers, but in the end, Lingalia won their third consecutive Colourful Valley title. 2B Teshome Shakes shined by having his best season ever. The Silver Eagles clinched the second playoff berth. The Golden Dragons had improved and were closer to a winning season. The Black & Yellow and the Sea Stars swapt positions as the franchise from Lingalie North won their 19th division title. For his second year in the league, the 22 year old Heller Glass really blowed this year. The Sea Stars qualified for the playoffs with only one more win than the Diamonds. The Bears are still last.
The Golden Dragons chose Special Auger, a starting pitcher from Canada to be their first pick in the 1993 draft.
Moon League First honors for these players : Rhys Lawless(CITY), Miguel Estrada(WHE), Quintin Treveylan Jr.(MAP), Charles Lacoste(CITY). Return of Mas Odhiambo(GRE), P.T. Maedgen(MAP) in the ASG. Players like Wayt Fourcade(CITY), Shuichi Mizusawa(CITY), Moussier de Jong(GRE), Run-ming Sun(LNN), Chee-hwa Er(FRE), Ji-e Jung(GRE), Yun-qi Chu(CITY), Robin Britton(LNN), Luis Loeza(FRE), Carl Leeson(GRE), Alfredo Sifuentes(FRE), Alex Nunez(FRE) are used to participate in the mid-July event. Sun League Comeback of Glenn Heile(JDT) & Teshome Shakes(LGG) in this season All-star Game. First selection for the SL for Edward Hanscombe(LGG), Myung-gu Kim(BEA) Wayne Davies(JDT), Harris Nash(LGG), Tony Aviles(B&Y), Fernando Nieto(GDD),Cesar Gomez(LGG), Rafael de Luna(DIA), Ian Bostock(SST), Victor Sira (LGG), Rudolf Palenik(DIA), Kyle Petrillo(SEAG), Herman Strazzer(SEAG), Michel Dubost(SST), Anwa Zhao(SST), Victor Morales(SEAG) constitute the core of the SL team again. As I stated before, unfortunately I haven't wrote down the result of this year's ASG.

In the first series, the Sea Stars swept the Expendables to advance to the next round. Rankings of regular season were prevalent for the next series, as division winner City also swept division runner-up Boubi Town. The Freros and the Black&Yellows faced each other for the fourth year in a row. Tight series, won in game 5 by the reigning champions. Finally, the last series was played between two underdogs : the Maple Leaves and the Green Goblins. Despite being favorite, Lingalia were swept by Orange. The Maple Leaves are now 2-0 in playoff against Lingalia. Linga Semi-Final Series SST vs CITY FRE vs MAP All but the Sea Stars plays in the Moon League. Furthermore, Linga Bay, the Freros and Orange finished second of their own division. Last season, City stumbled upon the Sea Stars, and history repeats itself as Linga Bay eject them again from 1993 LBS contention. The surprising Maple Leaves were only one game away from accessing the LBS for the first time in their history. Instead, the Freros will have a chance to defend their crown. Linga Baseball Series SST vs FRE Rematch of last year LBS, the Freros and the Sea Stars rivalry is really starting to blossom. After being swept last year, the Sea Stars took revenge on the Freros and won the series 4-1! A glance of the players behind this title :
Who were the best players this year ? Moon League : Sun League : ML: City reached the sky again, having their best season ever, tie with the 1988 season. Manny Mota has brilliantly started his mandate with two postseason appearances and this division crown. SL: Oberdan Diaz won the second championship for his franchise, the Sea Stars. He was awarded the SL manager of the year award for the 2nd straight year.

l-league (AAA) : Division winners : - l-LL Azure : Wayt Tides Thunderbolts (7th) - l-LL Cyan : Zerstrig Zerstorers (2nd) - l-DL Sapphir: La Croisée Bullets (9th) - l-DL Marine: Sokor Wyverns (3th) Playoffs : What a start for the Zerstorers team, they now have conquered 3 championships in their 6 first years. They are affiliated to the Wheelies, so a lot of their high potential players could possibly start very soon in the big league. r-league (AA) : Division winners : - r-RL Square : Creugré Mocking Birds (6th) - r-RL Heart : Baie-du-Butin Bruisers (1st) - r-BL Spade: Pampa Bay Fishermen (4th) - r-BL Club: Narballo Gators (6th) Playoffs : The Fishermen have waited 17 years for their first championship won in 1986. They only had to wait 7 years for their second title, as Pampa Bay defeated the Suns in the OS.
This year, the Padres clinched a playoff berth and are surrounded by the best franchises of the past years: Detroit, St-Louis and California. They faced the Cards in the LCS, and got swept. In the ALCS, the Tigers defeated the Angels to access the WS. Again, the Cardinals were able to sweep their opponent, to conclude their postseason undefeated. With 4 WS, they join the Angels and the Braves at the top of the league records.
The ICS returned in Lingalie City. The Cardinals faced the Sea Stars for the first time in their respective history. Despite a disputed series, the Sea Stars bring home the ICS in game 7.
Three inductees for this year promotion, all on their first ballot. - RF Lau-po Thien (99.3%) is possibly the greates player that came from Lingalie. He was born in Lingalie City and was lucky to play for the Nang Nius from 1971 to 1986. Although, he started his career at Lingalie North in 1969, and ended his after one season with the Freros at 42. Thien won 2 Golden Gloves (79 and 82), 9 Ruby Awards (70, 73-77, 79, 82, 84), 2 postseason MVP (70-71), and 4 championships (70 with the B&Y, 83, 84 and 86 with the LNN). His all-time numbers are .300/.412/.475, 2131 H, 289 HR, 1191 RBI, 1267 BB, 1266 R, 78.9 WAR in 1935 G. He is currently the leader of all-time in WAR and Runs. - SP Luis Reyes (89.4%) is also and inductee for the Nang Nius (76-82), but he also played for the B&Y(71-75), the Freros (83-87) and the Red Sox (88-90). He won one Golden Ball, in 1975, as well as 6 championships with the Black & Yellow. Reyes had pitched 2307.8 innings in 355 G, for a total ERA of 3.77, 2707 K, 46.1 WAR, 182 W and 137 L. - CF Eric Meyer (59,4%) also played mostly for the Nang Nius from 73 until his retirement in 87. He started his career with the Expendables in 71. Meyer won the Silver Glove, one year later. He also was awarded a Ruby Award 5 times in his career (77-79, 83-84) and a playoff Series MVP award twice (85 and 86). With the LNN, he won 3 championships : 83, 84 and 86. Meyer compiled the following stats throughout his career: .268/.346/.427, 1783 H, 230 HR, 953 RBI, 49.2 WAR in 1753 G.

1994 Season :
Jean Nooked, the commissioner of the LBL retired after 36 years. Bartholomée Kaos is the new commisioner to replace him. His first big task will be to handle the next expansion, that is set to happen in 1996. Kaos said during his introduction: "As for the 1988 expansion, there will be four new franchises. The league will continue to reach new markets in the country. No additional changes to the league structure are planned. The four franchises will be announced soon." The new commissioner also stated a new format for the playoffs matchups starting from this year : "The matchups will be no longer be fixed according to position, but rather by overall record. This means winning a division doesn't provide a high seed anymore. Interleagues will still happen in the playoffs. We believe this will avoid having the same matchups every year, and lead to a more open competition."
After a lost in the LBS in the 1992, Linga Bay were able to bounce back to won their second championship, showing some personality. After two exceptional years rewarded by a Golden Ball, the injury-prone pitcher Huang Lin only started 7 games last year. Will he be able to come back to his level of performance before injuries ? With three LBS participations in four years, the Freros had started the decade on a high note. Their roster is now packed with stars that performs really well. Anwa Adejola was never the ace, but he still delivered solid seasons. He won the Silver Glove in 1988, and last year he pitched for 3.45 ERA, with 164 K, 1.10 WHIP and 3.0 WAR. The Nang Nius dynasty are more than over, but quality is still there in Lingalie City. The biggest franchise in the league cannot tolerate to miss several playoffs, especially with a payroll that high. 3B Danny Constante was a nice addition to the squad in 1991, when he won the Silver Glove. Since then, he was awarded two Ruby Awards. Last season, he led the league with 7.3 WAR, and .874 OPS. Furthermore, he batted for .303/.382/.492 with 181 H, 28 HR, and 107 RBI. After three consecutive division titles, Lingalia has lost two important players this offseason : Cheng who returned with the Freros and Gomez who will play for the B&Y. This may be the time for Edward Hanscombe to carry the team. The RF who won the Silver Glove in 1991 had delivered his best season last year with a batting line of .310/.350/.394, 195 H and 3.6 WAR. Placed in a tough division, the Diamonds is still an underdog to clinch a postseason berth. They had many All-Star in their roster, 2B Rudolf Palenik is one of them. He led the league in triples for the four past seasons (with 13, 11, 12 and 9) and proved that he is a solid hitter. Last year he batted for .305/.358/.380with 4.8 WAR. After a couple of postseason appearances, can Narballo establish themselves as playoff regular ? There is clearly an open spot behind the Expendables in the Outlands division, and it looks like the Tattoed Sharks will compete with the Maple Leaves. Power hitter Bruce Cabrera accomplished three decent seasons for the Tattoed Sharks. Last season, he had 5.0 WAR and a batting line of .213/.369/.370 with 19 HR. Transactions/ FA : - Cesar Gomez, 39 yo SP, signed as a FA (LGG --> B&Y) a contract of 8 400 000 € in 2 y - Michel Dubost, 34 yo CF, declined option and signed as a FA (SST --> CAL(MLB)) a contract of 13 880 000 € in 4 y - Jerome Imbert, 33 yo SP, signed as a FA (DIA --> BEA) a contract of 9 760 000 € in 4 y - Carl Leeson, 34 yo SP, signed as a FA (GRE --> LNN) a contract of 22 000 000 € in 4 y - Xing-yun Cheng, 31 yo 3B, declined option and signed as a FA (LGG --> FRE) a contract of 36 980 000 € in 7 y - Rhys Lawless, 25 yo RF, signed as a FA (CITY --> THU) a contract of 44 480 000 € in 8 y - Carlos Garica, 35 yo LF, signed as a FA (SEAG --> SST) a contract of 6 400 000 € in 4 y - Fernando Nieto, 26 yo RF, signed as a FA (GDD --> CITY) a contract of 14 560 000 € in 4 y Managerial changes : JDT Daniel Albritton parted ways with the Jade Tigers. He will be replaced by Jesus Jones, a manager that rely on sabermetrics. BEA Miguel Vega will not stay in Kuronga. Former Thunders bench coach, Verastegui has been given an opportunity from the FO to become a manager. TSH Rubel Cespedes is no longer in charge of Narballo. He will instead be the manager of the Zappir Phoenix in the l-league. Deyvi Castillo, an inexperienced manager was appointed. GDD Nick Mould has been fired after only one season, he will seek to bounce back as a bench coach for the Expendables. Winner of the 1979 LBS with the Sea Stars, Carlos Ramos had returned last year in the LBL as a GDD BC, after a career in the MLB with Toronto and Seattle. He is now promoted to the managerial position in Golden District. Moon League They did it again! City won their second Metro division in a row. Since the beginning of last year season, Ixzi Fitzgerald delivered continuously great performances. The Freros finished only 4 games ahead of the Nang Nius. The latter missed the playoffs for the third year in a row, a first for the franchise. The Thunders didn't showed any improvement at all. Very close race in the Outlands between the Expendables and the Maple Leaves, but in the end, Green District managed to keep their crown. Their ace Mas Odhiambo, despite a great season, lost the race to the Maples Leaves'ace, P.T. Maedgen though. Stonegap is the first 1988 expansion franchise to achieve a winning record. Narballo finished last. Sun League The best team in the Sun League this year was the Jade Tigers, who were only 4 wins away to win their first division ever. They could count on their closer Jonathan Todaro who won the Silver Ball. With a record of .506, the Silver Eagles were able to clinch the second playoff berth. Lingalia fell into the third place, ahead of the Golden Dragons. LBS holder, Linga Bay won the Coast division, 5 games ahead of the Black&Yellow. Ian Bostock was one of the leaders on the field. He was awarded the 1994 Golden Glove. For the first time in their short history, the Bears did not finish last, but 3rd. Instead, the Diamonds had their worst season ever.
Pitcher Mike Ornelas was picked first by the Wayt Tides Thunders this season.
Moon League Caspar Bond(CITY) & Jason Donahue(THU) were notably elected for the first time. Return of Xing-yun Cheng(FRE), Kei Shibuya(CITY) in the ML squad. note : matchup by seeding (noted between brackets) Linga Quarter-Finals Series FRE(ML #4) vs JDT(SL #1) MAP(ML #3) vs SST(SL #2) CITY(ML #1) vs SEAG(SL #4) GRE(ML #2) vs B&Y(SL #3) I messed up while changing the matchups, so for this year the QFS were played as Bo3 series instead of Bo5. Fortunately, I remembered to correct this starting from the next season. After a great regular season, the Jade Tigers inherited of the Freros for their first playoff series. This opposition could be very tricky, despite that the Freros are the last ML seed. The winner won in game 3, and it is the Jade Tigers that went through. The Sea Stars will not be able to defend their crown, as they were swept by the Maple Leaves. The franchise from Orange has extended their great season a little more. In the third matchup, City are the favorites against a barely above .500 team, the Silver Eagles. Although, the latter surprised their opponent with a sweep. City had yet to perform as well in the postseason as they did many times in regular season. Old rivals met in the last series: Green District and Lingalie North. Despite being the top seed, the Expendables were beaten by the Black&Yellows 2-1. Linga Semi-Final Series JDT vs MAP SEAG vs B&Y One team from the ML against three SL franchises. It is the second year in a row that the Maple appeared at this round. Fans from Boubi Town are delighted by the idea of a LBS played between the Jade Tigers and the Silver Eagles. But first, the Jade Tigers had to dispose of Orange. Well, it didn't happened as expected for the Jade Tigers'fans, as the Maple Leaves won the series 4-2. Thus, the Maple Leaves will play in their first LBS, 19 years after their foundation. In the other semi-final, the Silver Eagles did defeat the Black&Yellow to return in the LBS. The series were tight though, as it went into Game 7. Linga Baseball Series MAP vs SEAG The two franchises finished second of their respective division. The Silver Eagles were the first franchise the Maple Leaves met in postseason, back in 1990. It ended with a win for the Silver Eagles. But this year what at stake is more important than a mere Quarter-Finals Series. It quite difficult to design a favorite, but by the regular season standards, Orange would be the favorite. The underdogs label suit well the Silver Eagles, as they always were during this postseason. After a long season, the franchise that lift the trophy was the Maple Leaves, they won their first LBS 4-2 ! It's the Silver Eagles 3rd loss in their 4 LBS appearances. A glance of the players behind this title :
Who were the best players this year ? Moon League : Sun League : Manager of the Year Awards : ML: Gregory Paulino nearly got the Maple Leaves their first division title. Oh, and his name will be remembered in the Maple's fans as the first manager to win a LBS with the Orange franchise. Something that got him his first manager of the year award. SL: What a first year for Jesus Jones as the head of the Jade Tigers. He won a division crown, something none of his predecessor were able to achieve. His work was rewarded with a manager of the year award.

l-league (AAA) : Division winners : - l-LL Azure : Wayt Tides Thunderbolts (8th) - l-LL Cyan : Zerstrig Zerstorers (3rd) - l-DL Sapphir: Briggs Buccaneers (7th) - l-DL Marine: Leafay Androids (7th) Playoffs : Two franchises returned in the LFS after a long time : the Thunderbolts after 8 years (they were still the Thunders back then) and the Buccaneers after 15 years. The Bucs defeated their rivals, the Androids on their way to the LFS, while the Thunders disposed of the rising Zerstorers. r-league (AA) : Division winners : - r-RL Square : Milos Storm (2nd) - r-RL Heart : Huangjia Wizards (2nd) - r-BL Spade: Galia Suns (8th) - r-BL Club: Lingalia Mammoths (10th) Playoffs : The r-league saw a new champion been crown : the Milos Storm in their 7th season. Hence, the Thunders organizations won both minor leagues championship this year, maybe it is a hint to the LBL team future success ?
The teams that clinched a postseason berth are : the reigning champions the Cards, the Braves, the Orioles and the A's. In the ALCS, the A's defeated the Orioles 3-1. In the NLCS, played between two of the most crowned franchises, St Louis won the tight series in game 7. The reigning champions successfully defended its title 4 to 1, to became the sole winner of 5 WS.
Coincidence or not of the calendar, this year the Cardinals will be able to play the ICS in their own stadium. Against the Maple Leaves, the Cards finally got to win an ICS and so despite winning 5 WS.
Two new members of the LBL Hall of Fame for the 1994 class : - CF Jasson Dominguez (57.3%) was admitted on his fifth ballot. He started his career in the league with the Nang Nius in 1967. But he is most known for his performance as a Sea Stars player (74-81) before ending his career at City. Dominguez won one Ruby Award in 71, and one championship in 79. He batted for .243/.313/.449, with 1342 H, 310 HR, 1011 RBI, 101 SB and 32.7 WAR in 1459 games played. - LF Francisco Sauceda (53.0%) in his second ballot. He is the second Silver Eagles player to be inducted in the HoF. He was awarded 2 Ruby Awards in 78 and 79, 4 playoffs MVP award (2 in 78 and 2 in 80). He was very crucial for his franchise first playoffs success. He was one of the best hitters of the game with .328/.374/.406, 1695 H, 10 HR, 537 RBI, 774 R, 29.6 WAR, 193 SB in 1248 G. He currently have the highest career AVG among all players and 4 of his single season performance in AVG are ranked in the top 8 of all-time (including the 2nd spot)

1995 Season :
The Maple Leaves could been labellized the worst franchise since its creation in 1975, nonetheless they got better these past years and won a championship against all odds. Pitcher P.T. Maedgen struggled with BB in his early career, but last season, his performances on the mount was one of the key factor of his team's success. He was the leader in ERA (2.04), and wins (20). He also had a WHIP of 1.05, 214 K and 5.3 WAR. The Colourful Valley division is the only one that has not provided a LBS winner. With a team filled with all-stars and Golden Glove winners (one of theirs players won it 4 times out of 7 occurences), the Silver Eagles thought they would be the one to break the curse, but they did not. Their RF Chris Brisuela is not often under the spotlight, but his two last season were pretty consistent. He batted for .289/.327/.435 in 1994. After a 3rd place for the first time in their history, the Bears want to take a step further by clinching a playoff berth. Last season, Cesar Gomez won his third Golden Ball last year with the B&Y at 39, 10 years after the 2nd one. He is now part of the other Kuronga franchise. He led the league in ERA (1.99), WHIP(0.98), K/9 (0.4) and WAR (5.0). First division crown for the Jade Tigers last year. They were in the shadow of their neighbors for the past couple of years, but they now aspired to surpass them. SP Wayne Davies is now known accross the league for his high number of K. He led the league in K for two seasons now with 222 and 215 and in K/9 with 10.2 and 9.5. He also had the best BABIP last year with .229 with an ERA of 2.93. City struggles to perform in postseason as well as they do in regular season. They lost their biggest star, Yun-qi Chu to the Freros during the offseason. His move was harshly received by the fans as he declined an option to play in a neighboring franchise. Ixzi Fitzgerald is still there, him. The Lingalian LF won the two last batting titles with .339 and .325 and is still a confirmed player of the league. He also had .352 OBP and .446 SLG last year. Achieving a winning record for the first time in their history last season, Stonegap's roster looks pretty promising. They will surely benefitted from their AAA team, Zerstrig, recent successes. After revealing himself in 1992, Alex Castro confirmed the expectations set on him last year with a second Ruby Award. The center fielder had a batting line of .289/.342/.414, with 20 SB and 5.6 WAR. Transactions/ FA : - Cesar Gomez, 40 yo SP, failed to meet the vesting criteria and signed as a FA (B&Y --> BEA) a contract of 8 320 000 € in 2 y - Yun-qi Chu, 30 yo SS, declined option and signed as a FA (CITY --> FRE) a contract of 33 000 000 € in 6 y - Robin Britton, 33 yo CF, signed as a FA (LNN --> SST) a contract of 30 600 000 € in 5 y - Jaska Rita, 38 yo CF, signed as a FA (FRE --> KC(MLB)) a contract of 490 000 € in 1 y - Julian Williams, 36 yo CL, signed as a FA (B&Y --> ATL(MLB)) a contract of 5 120 000 € in 5 y Managerial changes : TSH Deyvi Castillo only lasted one year as Narballo's manager. Wolde-Selassie Imara, Lingalia's manager since 1993 was appointed to replace him. LGG Wolde-Selassie Imara announced his departure to Narballo. The american manager Walker Whitworth will be his successor. CITY Manny Mota (1992-) LNN Jose Mayorga (1992-) THU Hunter Bailey (1992-) FRE Felix Cuevas (1993-) WHE Ahmed Wiese (1988-) GRE Matt Curry (1989-) MAP Gregory Paulino (1992-) TSH Wolde-Selassie Imara (1995-) B&Y Andrew Lefave (1981-) SST Oberdan Diaz (1991-) DIA Miguel Brito (1992-) BEA Adenson Verastegui (1994-) SEAG Ernie Banks (1988-) JDT Jesus Jones (1994-) GDD Carlos Ramos (1994-) LGG Walker Whitworth (1995-)
Moon League With the addition of Yun-qi Chu to their squad, the Freros manage to top the Moon division, while weakening City, which finished last. The Wayt Tides Thunders were only one win away to clinch their first playoff berth, instead the Nang Nius are back in postseason. The Expendables again won the Outlands division. Their closer Villanueva was stellar and won the Silver Ball. 5 games behind, the Wheelies were able to clinch quite easily their first postseason berth. The champion Orange finished third and Narballo was the only team with more than 100 losses. Sun League The Jade Tigers were able to defend with success their division title. Their CF Kistikumara Revati is still one of the best hitter of the league. For the second place, it was a tight race between the Silver Eagles and the Green Goblins, in the end the other franchise from Boubi Town will play the playoffs. The Golden Dragons finished with the exact same record as last year. With a .531, the Black&Yellows won their 20th division title, their SS Farraj bin Harun delivered great performance on the field. Another newcomer will play in the 1995 postseason : Kuronga which was able to secure the second spot. The Diamonds and the Sea Stars finished in this order behind after disappointing seasons from both sides.
The 3B Alan Roberts was the first pick of this year draft. He was chosen by the Diamonds.
Moon League Fernando Nieto(CITY) previously played in the ASG as SL player, but this year it's the first time he got into the ML team. Pitchers Jorge Torres(WHE) & Oscar Villanueva(GRE) were also elected for the first time. After his MVP season last year, Bayisa Adesola(MAP) make his return in the squad. Xing-yun Cheng(FRE), Caspar Bond(CITY), Jason Donahue(THU), Miguel Estrada(WHE), Quintin Treveylan Jr.(MAP), Mas Odhiambo(GRE), Run-ming Sun(LNN), Yun-qi Chu(FRE), Ji-e Jung(GRE), Diepolt Hesse(GRE), Alex Nunez(FRE) make their return into the ML roster. Sun League First honors in the SL squad for Taylor Clark(LGG), Pascal Fontaine(SEAG) & Daniel Flores(BEA) Comeback of Kistikumara Revati(JDT), Edward Hanscombe(LGG), Zhi-peng Li(DIA) in the team. Heller Glass(B&Y), Wagih Hatari(BEA), Jérôme Imbert(BEA), Danny Guizar(B&Y), Wayne Davies(JDT), Harris Nash(LGG), Kyle Petrillo(SEAG), Herman Strazzer(SEAG), Victor Morales(SEAG) add another selection to their record. In the Wayt Tides Park, the ML team won again this year and now lead 4 wins to 2 losses against the SL.

Linga Quarter-Finals Series LNN(ML Seed #4) vs JDT(SL Seed #1) WHE(ML Seed #3) vs SEAG(SL Seed #2) GRE(ML Seed #1) vs BEA(SL Seed #4) FRE(ML Seed #2) vs B&Y(SL Seed #3) For their return in postseason, the Nang Nius were defeated by the SL top-seed, the Jade Tigers in four games. The Wheelies almost won their first playoff series ever, but the Silver Eagles were better and join their neighbors in the next round. The other newcomer, the Bears also lost in game 5. Their opponents, the Expendables was after all, the best team in the ML regular season. A classic showdown of the early 90's, the Freros and the Black&Yellow met in the last QFS. And it is another win for the Freros in this matchup. Linga Semi-Final Series JDT vs SEAG GRE vs FRE The two franchises from Boubi Town meet for the first time in a playoff series. The winner will advance to the LBS but could also claim local supremacy. After the Silver Eagles loss in the LBS last year, the Jade Tigers had its chances in 1995, as they won the series 4-2. In the other SFS, two of the four original franchises of the leagues face each other, the Expendables and the Freros. They both have won a championship not so long ago as well. Green District was able to outclass its opponent and advance to the LBS. Linga Baseball Series JDT vs GRE 19 years had passed since the last apperance of the Jade Tigers in a LBS. This time, they faced the Green District Expendables, who became one of the biggest franchise in the meantime. These two teams are the top seed of their respective league, making this series a best of the best confrontation. With a 4-2 victory, the Expendables won their 5th championship ! A glance of the players behind this title :
Who were the best players this year ? Moon League : Sun League : ML: Since his appointment, Matt Curry's team, the Expendables, always won their division. This year he won his first championship and he is rewarded with a manager of the year award. SL: Ernie Banks won his second manager of the year award after a great season with the Silver Eagles.

The Angels top up the Orioles to seek their 5th championship in the ALCS, while in the NLCS, Pittsburgh won against San Francisco. In five games, the Pirates won their fourth WS, as much as their opponent.
In Kuronga, Pittsburgh and Green District will play the ICS together for the second time, after 1988. Playing in their home country, the Expendables swept the Pirates to send them home.
Three inductees this season : - Guan-pei Chio (80,2%) on his first ballot. Chio was one of the best player of the league during his career. He is inducted with a Green District hat, he played from 74 to 82 there, winning two championships. The 1996 Expansion : 4 new organizations will join the league, let me introduce them : 1) The Wayt County Bobcats organization 8 years after their rivals, the Bobcats join the LBL from the l-league. They will also move to a brand new stadium, Savannah Jaws that is more in phase with their new ambitions. Basically, the Bobcats strive to be the best team in Wayt County. The Thunders have not had a lot of success since their move, so it is a reachable goal. As for the Thunders, a team based in Wayt City that derives from the Bobcats will remain in the l_league : the Wayt County Lynx. They will play in the old stadium, but with a new logo. The Bobcats partnered with the football (or soccer) team, the Kuronga Fire to create a r-league team that shares the same name with the football team. They will have access to facilities and have solid financial backups. Abbreviation used for the teams:
Organisation teams' logos : (primary and small) 2) The Pinehearth Salamanders organization With this new franchise, the league is exploring the south-east market. Pinehearth will become the city that host a LBL team with the least inhabitants with 155k, ahead of Dawala. The front office's project is to seek prospects in order to not be competitive right away but in the near future. For their affiliated l-league team, the Salamanders chose Anslos as a host city. This way bigger city has space for another team, other than the Sea Stars. Naturally, their venue will be one of the largest in the AAA league. Finally, the Tymschk Axes was established to compete in the r-league for Pinehearth. The distance from Pinehearth to Tymschk played surely a big role to the choice of this city. Abbreviation used for the teams:
Organisation teams' logos : (primary and small) 3) The Hinterlands Rhinos organization Another state had its first LBL team : the Hinterlands with the Rhinos. A lot of expectations are set from the league on this franchise base in a region, where baseball is not too popular. Indeed the south-west is dominated by football & handball. Nonetheless, the recent success of the Zerstorers in the l-league had gave a boost to baseball popularity there. Placed in a tough division, the Rhinos are unlikely to be competitive right off the bat, instead they will focus on their growth before seeking playoff berths. The Hinterlands also got another team : the Stolzberg Hawks in the l-league. Even if Stolzberg and Unkünft are traditionally rival cities, these two teams will work together in this organization. Further away, the Rhinos 's r-league team is based in Cabestan, in Cap Azur. The Ninjas will have a chance to challenge their natural rivals : the Baie-du-Butin Bruisers. Abbreviation used for the teams:
Organisation teams' logos : (primary and small) 4) The La Croisée Bullets organization Another team moved from the l-league : the Bullets. So the second largest city in New Lingalie, La Croisée has a LBL team. Like the Bobcats, the franchise had built a brand new stadium : L'Amphithéatre and they will use a new logo. The owner's ambition is mainly profit-driven, but he stated that he is also looking forward to compete soon for postseason appearances. Le Colisée, the Bullets's old venue will be used by the La Croisée Canons. As the Lynx and the Thunderbolts, the Canons is part of the same entity as their parent LBL team. They change primary color from grey to orange. To represent them in the rookie league, the Bullets could count on the Crimson Owls. Based in Bouberg, this team follows the tradition to name a team with a color plus an animal. Abbreviation used for the teams:
Organisation teams' logos : (primary and small)

Updated map 4 states are still waiting to host a LBL team : Central Oasis, Lingalia West, Strangleronce and Hessia. About the league structure, each of the new franchise will join one of the existing division. The playoffs are not changed. Moon League - Metro division : The Rhinos join a tough division, the Metro division. The Freros and City were the teams that dominated since its foundation, with the Nang Nius close behind. The Thunders were pretty much inexistent until last season, so they might be the Rhinos direct opponent. Moon League - Outlands division : While it was supposed to be the weakest division, it is the only one with three franchises that participated in the LBS since 1988, with two different winners. And this while the Expendables are still the only team that won the division. The Pinehearth Salamanders will be part of this open division, so maybe they will have a shot to clinch a berth soon. Sun League - Coast division : The Black&Yellows were the dominant team since the division realignment in the Coast division, with 5 division crowns and 2 championships. They will encounter their old AAA-team, the Bullets starting from this year. With the Bears'last season, it looks like the division will become even more disputed. Sun League - Colorful Valley division : If the Jade Tigers win the division this year, three teams would have won 3 straigth division crowns : the Silver Eagles (88-90), the Green Goblins (91-93) and the Jade Tigers (94-96). The Bobcats will play in this division, even if they do not follow the pattern of the other teams' names. It is the only division without any LBS winner since the division realignment of 88.
