Ram -
As a person who was in your shoes a while back, I think this will have an major effect on not only what GMs you get, but also what others think of the quality of your league. No, I'm not saying that your league will shut down, nor I'm saying that you will get GMs that are not of quality, I'm saying this is the impression that everyone gets, that you steal such things as rules or the site design without written permission or giving credit where credit is due, shows that you can't do your own stuff. Note that I am not critizing you, or your league, but that is the impression that you have gave me, and possibly, many others that you have scared away from your league.

I know I said I was done with this, but I received an e-mail from Ryan today apoligizing for taking my rules. So I decided to jump back here and say this:
Ram, I am sorry "I" ruined your thread. I would suggest you ignore this thread all together and start a new thread recruiting owners. Right or wrong, both of us did something, well, stupid, and now we are paying for it. So just start up a new thread, perhaps "ABF(sp) Signup Here" and forget this one exists. To those of you that play or will play in Ram's league, I am sorry if I have ruined your OOTP experience. That really was never my intent. I am quick to anger, and sometimes I may go over the top. I truly wish Ram great success in his league, and all of his GM's long and prosperous careers. And lastly to the sanctimonious half of the OOTP community. I get so sick of those of you that feel because you have posted on this message board 695 times or because you are some eighteen year old computer geek virgin or because a bully picked on you all through grammar school, that you have the right to tell everyone else how inferior they are to you. Yes, by bringing it here to the forum, I made this a public discussion. But there are those of you that all you do is tear other people down just because you feel its your duty. And apparently you get your jollies from this. So, with the exception of questions I may have about gameplay, I am stepping back out of the OOTP message board community, not because I am a coward or I can't take your attacks, but because I am tired of reading them. About me, about anyone. I know this won't amount to anything, because you will continue to attack me and others around me but I said my case. To those of you who are victims of this childish behavior, remember that the one slinging the insults at you likely is lashing out because of lack of real human friends.

I agree completely and would like to add it's shameful that you guys have to ruin people's experiences (such as mine) with a great baseball game by acting this way towards people. Let's grow up and keep the drama to daytime television. This is a baseball sim forum, must I remind you. Scratch that, you guys are going to be jacka$$es no matter what anyone says. Why do I keep wasting my time? If this is how you get your kicks, by all means have your computer geek, virgin fun. |

I for one, haven't said anything bad about any of them. BUT, talk about ruining somebodies fun, how bout autarkis going out publicly instead of talking to ram through pm. He could of apologized in a pm if it was that big of a deal. |

I am a computer geek, I admit. I am not a virgin by any means, I have plenty of "real life" friends, I like my job, my life, and myself. I do get a kick out of making fun of people who like to put up bad ass fronts, not naming names, and have absolutely ZERO sense of humor. I guess I will burn in hell.

This isn't a confessional, holyroller.
I didn't want you to admit your faults here. I was merely stating that peoples attitudes toward each other sucks. Especially when someone shows one ounce of a weakness. It's like when sharks sense blood, they just go nuts. But then again, that's the nature of sharks, huh. Same goes for these guys who have no lives, I guess it's just their nature. |

I probably shouldn't even join in here, because I'm not interested in firing off a bunch of personal attacks at anyone involved.
But it's interesting to me that autarkis decries the "sanctimonious" members of the community, yet he was the one who publicly called out ram with a tone that seemed to me to be, "How dare you rip off MY words?!?" To me, this is sanctimonious. Everyone after that was pretty harsh, but they were really just puncturing his hypocrisy and self-importance. Maybe not done in the best way exactly, but still seems well-deserved. In my opinion, the tone of this and some similar threads does get a little nasty at times, but most of the people who find the community turns on them are those who are thin-skinned and don't like having their own hypocrisy pointed out to them. Yes, in many cases it may be "computer geeks" making these nasty little comments, but rarely are they undeserved. And if you're that unhappy about the community, don't be a part of it. I find it really funny that people will deride those who attack them as geeks, and yet still seem to care what these geeks think enough to keep arguing with them. So, there's my rant for the day....

Nice rant! We need more rants like this, as I find them so refreshing.
