Default images? Icons in or out? And so on.

On overlay, did quick check and noticed below, you prefer this altered I guess?

The simple fix here is to scale the card img down a little to match the original one. If you would rather keep the frame size you have, then in the page XML adjust the y pos of the title and/or the image frame so they don't collide...

If I could, I'd just do that thing you said with the y pos of the xml? Bob is really good at this stuff, isn't he?

Guess if we want others to use this alternate frame, you'd need to be able to see the designation over each photo (i.e. "announcer", "referee", "trainer", etc.).

Bob, regarding the intro image, do I use the one you attached in your previous post? Does it matter what type of file it is? When I copy it, it shows up as a bmp file. When I save it, it seems to be a jpeg.(?) The one in the game is a 1024 x 768 png.

You might be referring to the screenshot I posted of your intro image in the game.

I used your original posted image and just replaced the Intro Background file in the images folder.

I remember fondly how easy it was to set the default pictures in 2.5. Now I have to strain my brain to even THINK about doing that or making any background changes. I must not be living right!

So I can just use my original image? I would've thought you'd need something else because of the live buttons at left and right of the entranceway.

Buttons are in the same positions so your image works just fine.

Much obliged, mate! I'll try it first thing tonight after I drag the wet rugs from our recently flooded cellar outside. Storms. Who knew?

Wow! It woiked! Thanks to friend Bob Bask I've substituted my alternate grubby midtown gym entrance (Intro Background.png) for the original co-ed health centre squash court one.

anyone wants to use it feel free! Just follow the same steps outlined previously. The file should be a 1024 x 768 png and you have to remove the original Intro Background.png and rename the replacement.

P.S. I have changed the generic fighter icon that appears at the top of some pages with this:

Now, for the Fight Screen itself, I'm pictureing somethin' like dis here. A combination of the classic and the new. (Note the ring microphone just over the enlarged commentary window.) Though I'd stick with the present colour scheme instead of the old red-dominant one. Maybe move the mike up a bit so it doesn't block text or make it smaller so fifteen round fights would fit, though you could have a crawling bar in case you want to expand to 20 rounders at some point.

Hi Cap,

We used to have generic fighters for all the different races as well as an "Unknown". Have you been able to figure that out?

Thanks.

We did? I don't remember that. Was that in 2.5?

Hi Cap,

Yes it was 2.5 and if I recall, you were using 2.0, now that I think about it.

Anyone else out there have any input on this?

BTW, who is that guy in your avatar?

Regards,

JP

Not really, Jefe. My idea is to combine the best of both. I like the colours used in the new model, but I like the larger fighter pics and commentary window of the classic model. Also take note of the panel at top showing the weight class or maybe title being fought for.

Unfortunately, I think I've taken this as far as I can go. It'll take someone with the technical know-how to re-jig the Fight Screen so the indicators and buttons will still work.

How's about chipping in when you have spare time (Ha Ha)? I am stuck. How can we achieve that classic look without needing to have to code stuff? On the surface seems simple enough. Dead end.

By the way, what ever happened to being able to flip through fighter pics (when there are more than one of a guy) during the course of a fight?

Oh, yeah. And why aren't they bigger?

^ From the suggestion thread, but thought I'd give it a go.

Find a bigger radio console and you've got something to leave Antonin dancing!

Or, come to think of it, place the fighters' pics on either side in larger aspect than presently available....and make the commentary window larger to accomodate clumps of text....
