Oscar Gamble's third homer wasn't enough to make up the otherwise lacklustre play of the Jays. They fell to the Rangers 6-3.

WP - Len Barker (1-2)
Save - Rudy May (1)
LP - Jim Clancy (0-1)

Record - 4-12

Pete Vuckovich looked better today, but he still gave up the big 3-run blast to Pat Putnam to give the Rangers a 5-2 win and the series sweep.

WP - Rick Wise (3-1)
Save - Ron Reed (5)
LP - Pete Vuckovich (0-5)

The Jays broke their losing streak, and had a very positive debut by the newest Blue Jay, Mark Clear! He came on with the bases full and two out in the 9th. He pitched to 4 batters, getting a K and 3 ground-outs and his first save as Toronto beat Milwaukee 5-3.

Alfredo Griffin had a nice day, going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI.

WP - Mark Foster (3-0)
Save - Mark Clear (1)
LP - Mickey Mahler (0-2)

Record - 5-13

An all-around well-played game for Toronto. Oscar Gamble's 4th homerun led the offense and Mike Parrott had a solid outing before turning it over to Mark Clear, who allowed an unearned run, but still got the save as the Blue Jays beat the Brewers 7-5.

WP - Mike Parrott (1-4)
Save - Mark Clear (2)
LP - Bill Travers (2-2)

Record - 6-13

The first game of a double-header against the Brewers went 13 innings and eventually the Jays could hold them off for no longer as Milwaukee won 4-1.

WP - Bill Castro (1-0)
Save - Tom Buskey (1)
LP - Dwight Bernard (1-1)

Record - 6-14

The Brewers took both halves of the double header as Moose Haas shut out the Toronto hitters.

Pete Vuckovich was 'effectively wild' today as he pitched a 3-hit shutout, while tying the team record by walking 8!

The Blue Jays beat the Twins 5-0.

WP - Pete Vuckovich (1-5)
LP - Dave Goltz (3-1)

Trying to jump start the rotation, Jim Clancy was sent to AAA while Jeff Byrd was called up.

The offense also needed some shuffling.

Sent to AAA: Kiko Garcia, Alfredo Griffin & Phil Mankowski

Called up: Dan Meyer, Leon Roberts & Al Woods

The Blue Jays staged an impressive comeback, but they fell short, losing 8-5 to the Twins. Mark Foster, pitching on short rest, had his worst performance of the season.

Jerome Thomson left the game with injury. We await diagnosis.

WP - Bill Bonham (4-2)
Save - Bill Gullickson (1)
LP - Mark Foster (3-1)

Record - 7-16

Jeff Byrd joined the rotation and made the most of it! He pitched 7.1 innings in a 4-3 win over the Twins. He struck out 6 but walked 4.

Skip McBeath had a nice 2-run shot, his 2nd homer of the year.

WP - Jeff Byrd (1-0)
Save - Victor Cruz (4)
LP - Pete Redfern (1-1)

Record - 8-16

This seems like a completely different team. Solid pitching and timely hitting led the way as the Blue Jays beat the Brewers 10-4.

Carlos Hernandez went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and Oscar Gamble got his 5th homer and Dan Meyer got his first.

WP - Mike Parrott (2-4)
LP - Moose Haas (4-1)

Record - 9-16

With the Jays and the Brewers knotted at 2, Carlos Hernandez hit his first homerun of the season in the top of the 9th, and he did it with the bases juiced for a grand slam! Toronto wins 6-2.

WP - Ed Whitson (1-0)
LP - Jerry Augustine (0-3)

The Jays best the Brewers again, this time by a score of 5-3 behind a two homer day by Oscar Gamble.

This win takes the Jays out of the basement in the AL East!

WP - Pete Vuckovich (2-5)
Save - Victor Cruz (5)
LP - Lary Sorensen (0-3)

The Jays winning run hit a speed bump as the Brewers took this one 4-2. Mark Foster had to leave the game in the 3rd due to a sore back. Tucker Garland pitched very well in relief but one mistake and that was a 2-run homer by Dan Thomas.

WP - Jerry Koosman (4-3)
Save - Bill Castro (5)
LP - Tucker Garland (0-3)

Record - 11-17

The Blue Jays unloaded on the Twins, hitting five homeruns and winning 9-1.
At one one point Oscar Gamble, Al Woods and Rich Dauer hit three straight, in addition to a second my Gamble and one by Joe Nolan.

Jeff Byrd had control issues but he didn't let the Twines take advantage of it.

WP - Jeff Byrd (2-0)
LP - Gary Serum (2-4)

Record - 12-17
