Its early days in my fictional league still but its set up around Ireland and the UK. I have a league in Ireland and a league for Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland. Then theres college systems and secondary school systems for both and triple A leagues for both. They each play their season with playoffs to decide a champion and then afterwards the top 2 from each play in another series to decide the top team from both leagues.

I started myself as a manager of my college (university of Limerick) and have improved my team nicely over the two years. my first season was around .450 for wins and my second was .530. I missed the playoffs by one game which was dissapointing. I have improved the personnel on the team and a few players now so I hope to make a good push this season. Also had one of my players get drafted 3rd overall which I was quite happy with.

The plan is that Ill eventually move up and manage a major league team. Im giving the league time to settle first and then Ill probably take over at some weak team and try to improve them.

The Mariners continued their hot play, stretching out their lead as high as five games in the AL West. Then they played the Angels. The Angels swept us in a 3-game set, and three games later, we set to face off again, with the Mariners leading by two games. A single Seattle win would clinch the division title.

But the M's lost the first two. King Felix did not come up big this time, and now the stage is set for Game 162 - winner goes to the playoffs. Jason Vargas (8-9, 4.28) vs. C.J. Wilson (13-14, 3.97).

The goal wasn't to make the playoffs this year - we want long-term success. But to get this close and not make it would be disappointing.

Elsewhere in the league, the Red Sox and Yankees are also in a "one-game playoff" situation, tied for the AL East lead. Lester vs. Pineda.

Real-time simulation. Let's go.

PLAYOFF BOUND! Dustin Ackley hit a two-run shot and Jesus Montero, who started very poorly and spent a chunk of the season in Triple-A, added a three-run shot (5 RBI total) to put the game out of reach. Jason Vargas pitched well enough to win it, 8-3. Bring on the Yankees!

(Meanwhile, the Wild Card game between Cleveland and Boston went to 15 innings before Asdrubal Cabrera hit a walk-off shot. Talk about late-season drama!)

Mid July, and I finally unloaded a couple players, and am glad I was able to.

Me - 32-59
Cardinals - 60-32

The Cardinals have Chris Carpenter gone for most of the year, and Yadier Molina out for the year, and they needed a SP and a Catcher, which I was glad to offer.
I traded SP Francisco Liriano (5-10 3.60) and C Pudge (235/278/265 in limited time) for 3 minor leaguers. SP Boone Whiting (3.82 in AA) 2B Kolton Wong (.730 OPS in AA) and OF Erik Komatsu (.747 OPS in AAA).

Any thoughts on the trade?

One more trade I made, a couple days before the deadline.

Justin Morneau is gone!

I traded him (255/324/418) and SS Julio Lugo (274/313/339 in limited time) to the Rangers (59-38), for minor league SP Will Lamb (5.66 in A) and SP Roman Mendez (3.59 in AA).

These two trades did hurt fan interest, but I needed to do something other than let these players walk, and hopefully these moves will help in the future. At the very least, give me solid bench players, as every time I replace someone I get a 6 ERA or a .500 OPS so far...

1939 Red Sox

Great thread and great idea!

I started a dynasty with the Red Sox in 1939 with no history (players currently in the league do have career stats though)

1939 is the rookie year for Ted Williams and I want to try and get him a ring along with his long time teammates Bobby Doerr, Johnny Pesky, and Dom Dimaggio

I play the games out and there will be no draft. Players enter the league with the team they debuted with etc.

Players that retired before 1939 will be imported into the game as free agents according to HOF class. So the first free agent/HOF class will be a great one with the likes of Ruth and Cobb etc

I am also thinking about importing 2 Babe Ruths. The first will be George Ruth and he will be imported from his rookie season when he was just a pitcher. The second will be Babe Ruth and he will be imported from his first Yankee year when he was just a hitter.

Lefty Grove had a career ending injury before he even threw a pitch in the 1939 season which really kills my already thin pitching staff.

Ted Williams pulled a hamstring in the 5th game of the season and will be out for about a month.

Luckily Jimmie Foxx has been on absolute tear and the Red Sox got off to a 14-5 start. However, we have now lost 8 of 10. Foxx is in a slump and our pitching has come back down to earth. Ted Williams is due to come off the DL in about 5 games. The Yankees now lead the AL by 2 games. It is still early but this Sox team is flawed. We need pitching! I did make a trade with the Pirates last night and acquired Rip Sewell. The Pirates actually had him in AAA where he was pissed off. He doesn't walk guys and is a veteran. He can only help.

I also filled the Single A level of all 16 teams with fictional players. I like playing with the historical guys but I also like to have some fictional guys come out of the wood work. I actually traded one of these fictional guys for Rip Sewell. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a star for the Pirates. He is a 20 year old left fielder named Richard Trent.

I am thinking about making a college baseball feeder league...still no draft but these college guys would just go into the free agent pool etc

Joe Dimaggio currently has a 19 game hitting streak.

I will keep you posted.

Just finished my fifth season and I won my first national Championship with UL. I am quite pleased with the win after losing the final last year. My team is built around my amazing set of pitchers but the batters certainly showed their worth as I won game 7 15-0. A nice shutout aswell. I think Ill lose a lot of my top players in this years draft. I have moved the draft to the off season of the majors rather than mid season. It makes more sense to me.

I have added new teams to the british league expanding it to 30 teams. Both leagues are settling down a bit now it seems. I may decide to be promoted soon and get a job in the minors or majors. Although for now I am loving playing in the college league each year.

Two months into the 1937 for fictional MLB league.

Cincinnati Reds signed Adam Strouse in the offseason at age 35, the most prolific hitter of all-time left St. Louis after 14 seasons. Reds sit in 4th place but Strouse is making his record 6.22 million dollars a season and has every intention to purchase the Reds after the 5 year contract is up. The reds are valued at 33 million at the moment (Just a hair more than the contract they handed Strouse) and it is thought around the league that Strouse is currently calling all shots in Cincinnati as seen by hiring old time friend Joe Vickery (first man to hit 500 homeruns) as manager and old St. Louis pal, Gordon Starks (also thought to be 30% minority owner when the deal comes up in 5 years) as bench coach. The Reds are the only team never to win a pennant and the fans are all behind the rumors hoping that Strouse takes the reigns and calls all the shots.

In the meantime Ralph Meyers in only his 5th major league start threw a perfect game against Strouses Reds becoming the 3rd person ever to do so.

Ben Spahn, 2nd all time homerun hitter, retired mid season at age 41 after suffering an ACL tear and knowing he'd be unable to make it back this season.

Guy Levinson, the most dominant pitcher of the past ten seasons is pitching with an ERA over 5 on the second place Cardinals team. The Cardinals are surprising the entire league by playing tough ball sans Adam Strouse and without Levinson performing at a high level. The team was swept in the 1936 World Series by the Red Sox while Adam Strouse, Guy Levinson and Jasmin Dionne watched from the bench all being hurt in September.

Won my second national championship with UL in my sixth season. Had the best year yet and got a score 100/100. I was very happy for my manager who was there for 4 years and really helped my team improve. And he now has two championship wins on his record. He didnt return so I had to find a replacement. Hopefully Ill do just as good.

Also my closer from the season previous won rookie of the year in the majors. I was delighted to see it because he was an outstanding pitcher and deserved it. I have a nice stream of players going into the draft every year and a few of them are having nice careers for themselves in the majors. Its very satisfying to see.

I put St. Louis in my rear view, and finished in 1st place in the central division. I defeated Eastern Division champs the Philadelphia Patriots in 4 games (best of 5) and lost in a 11 inning game 7 to.... Kansas City! Right now, I'm not too thrilled with the entire state of Missouri. This was Kansas City's 2nd consecutive title, having beat Saint Louis and San Diego en route the year before. This year, their road through the playoffs took them through Denver, a series that took the full 5 games. Perhaps my over-confidence that my team was more well rested got the better of us, as we dropped game 1 6-3. We left Kansas City, splitting the pair (7-2), returned home to win a pair of close games 5-4 and 4-3, but they won the last game in Chicago 9-4 to force the series back onto their turf. Game 6 got out of hand quickly, and we lost 11-5. This series would go to a deciding game 7. Making sure I had all my aces ready, I played aggressively both on the bases and in the field. We managed to scrape 3 runs off the starter in 6 innings, but in the bottom of the 7th, they managed to get them all back on one swing of the bat. We pushed a 4th run in the top of the 9th to go ahead, but our closer couldn't shut them down in the bottom of the inning. The 10th inning was a hard fought contest, we almost scored, but Walker was thrown out at the plate. We put up a run in the top of the 11th, and down to our last healthy pitcher, we put game 4's starter in the pen to warm up. He never got a chance though, as the Cloverleafs scored 2 quick runs to win the championship. Game 7 goes to K.C. 7-6 in 11.

My 1st year with the Twins just finished, and oh boy, was it bad!

We ended the year at a paltry record of 51-111, and we were the only 100 loss team. Our season was fueled by an amazing 23 loss streak late in the season. The Phillies ended up coming back from down 3-0 to beat the Tigers in the World Series, and the best record went to the Yankees.
The MVPs were Evan Longoria (274/429/472 +25 UZR) and Matt Holliday (307/401/507 +9 UZR).
The Cy Youngs were Dan Haren (20-6 2.98) and Zack Grienke (11-8 2.09).
Rookie of the Year winners - Anthony Rizzo and Matt Moore
Comeback Player of the Year winners - Adam Wainwright and Justin Morneau (now on Texas!).

Hoping for an improvement next year with my new manager, and I am excited about having the #1 pick in the draft.

Interesting player from my Tigers dynasty....

In my first draft I picked up MR Michel Boyer in the second round. He's a lefty, throws hard (97-99) with a sick 74% GBs. He was a college pitcher and was considered (by my scout) ready to play right out of the draft. (something like 74 ovr/76 potential on the 20-80 scale). He was a 2 pitch guy (Sinker/Slider, both 8 out of 8). His stamina was a 2.

I put him in the Bigs after a few innings in AAA and he was good. 40 innings, 58 strikeouts, 3.37FIP and a solid 0.6WAR. I penciled him in as my setup man going into this season.

As the season started I noticed that he was "suggested" as a starter. His stamina had jumped from 2 up to 4 and he gained a Splitter (5/8). I'm working him as a starter now, despite his low stamina. He's had 6 starts, he's 2-2 (3 out of 6 have been "quality starts"). He hits fatigue at 100 pitches, but he's been dominant as a starter. 32.2 IP, 45K/11walks and 3 HR.

Interested to see how this late 2nd round reliever turned starter plays out.

Started a Cubs save in 2012 to see if I can win the World Seres before Theo does!

Currently coming up to the end of May 2012, sitting 24-24, 3 games back of the Cardinals and a half game behind Milwaukee.

Signed Oswalt to strengthen the rotation, he is 3-5 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Matt Garza leads the rotation with a 5-4 record with a 3.97 ERA and 1.27 WHIP.

Castro is hitting .296, Ian Stewart leads the team with 9 home runs and Joe Mather has 22 RBI's to lead the team.

I did a quickstart in OOTP 12 managing the Cubs. It is now 2028, and we've won two World Series. I have a 31 year old second baseman who needs 10 homes to get to 400 (he's already the best 2nd baseman of all time and he's got several more solid years left in him if he stays healthy) and a 27 year old first baseman who just hit his 300th, making him the youngest player to ever get to that milestone (beating A-Rod by a few days). However, we are running into significant financial difficulties. We have a projected balance of -44 million after this season. The first baseman is a free agent after this year, and there is no way I can resign him. The fans will not be happy.

After winning four national Championships with UL in a row, I decided Id resign and see what offers I get from the majors. I got offers in Ireland and UK but I wanted my first one to be in Ireland. I was stuck between three to choose but eventually settled on Tipperary. There was plenty to do in the offseason between trading, contracts, drafting and everything else. I ended up drafting 3 of my college players because I knew they were good. One is currently on the majors while the rest are in the minors. The season started of badly going 1-6 but I turned it around and now we are 19-19. We had some early injuries too so I hope well be better when they come back into the team.

Im thinking of adding more major leagues to expand the world into Europe. I think Ill start with France as the next country. Maybe Spain, Germany or Holland will follow.

I started a MLB league and have played out every single game, I'm now in the year 2019 so thats 1235 games total I've played out which is a lot of fun! This is going to be long but I hope some of you will take the time to at least read some of it.

I am the Minnesota Twins, I've only made the playoffs one run which is weird because I feel like I've assembled quite the squad but it seems like this is our year because unfortunately I'm going to run out of money next year so I need to win it this year or I'm going to lose my top 3 starters. I'll give you guys a run through of my lineup this year and see what you think.

C - Joe Mauer

He's been pretty injury prone throughout his career and it has derailed him from the HOF career everyone thought he would have when he won his MVP. He still has a career .307 average and is actually hitting above .300 this season for the first time since 2014.

His ratings (20 point scale contact/gap/power) are 12/8/6

1B - Justin Morneau

This position has been a logjam for me for years but somehow Morneau keeps coming back although I wish he would go away next year as his 15.6 million player option is keeping me from resigning some of my SP. Signing him to that extension was probably my biggest mistake so far, I got caught up in a year where he hit .290 with 27 HR but since then, he's hit around .240.

His ratings are 10/11/13.

2B - Peter McClendon

Drafted 45th overall in the 2017 draft, was named #97 prospect 2 years later and hasn't disappointed so far. At only 24 years old, in his 2nd year at the major league level, Peter has hit .302 and is a fabulous defender who can also play SS if needed. Also making the league minimum, he will be one of our key players for years and years to come.

Ratings - 16/15/8

SS - Julio Rivera

The infield wonder, he can play all 3 IF positions very well and we have utilized him at all 3 throughout his career here. He's 29 years old, acquired from a trade with Texas for OF Wilkin Ramirez, one of our better trades we've made. He hit .302 in his first full year with us, dropped down to .228 the next year, almost lost his job but his defense kept him around and now he's hitting .294 this year. He's making 850k this year and but may be a FA next year depending on how much he plays this year. If his price goes up, he's probably gone but if it stays around $1million, he could easily stay for years to come.

Ratings - 12/5/1

3B - Juan Gonzalez

He kinda came out of no where this year to be a contributer to the squad, also amazing defensively, the 24 year old has hit .274 in his rookie year after being the 342nd pick in 2016. Not much else to say about him at the moment but he's been a pleasant surprise as an injury call up.

Ratings - 11/11/12

LF - John Howse

The future MVP of the league, we traded for him this year to try and boost our way to the top in our only year we really have a chance to win. I traded two first round picks, my starting 3B and a 5 star potential C to get this guy and while he has tapered off a little bit since the trade, I'm happy with the 3 time All-Star. The 26 year old already has 148 career HR and is hitting .295 this year. He's making 6.5 million which is obviously going to go up but will get arbitration next year so that's always a plus. I'm a little hesitant to offer him a long term deal and I'll explain why later on when we get to Tony Bryant.

CF - Cody Rogers

A Rule V pick a couple years ago, I wasn't expecting much from him and really I haven't got anything amazing, just a guy that's been good enough to pass by although with possible FA coming up, this could be his last year in a Twins uniform. He's already 30 years old and his career average is .261 although he always has at least 25 HR which is great for a leadoff guy.

Ratings - 13/9/16

RF - Jacob Anderson

Another possible future MVP if he can stay healthy, Jacob Anderson, 26, was acquired in a one for one trade that has benefited both parties so far. Last year, he hit .288 with 29 HR in 135 games but so far this year is hitting .263 with 19 HR in 84 games so if we can keep him healthy, that will be a huge plus. Especially since he's still making the league minimum this year but will be eligible for arbitration next year.

Ratings - 15/13/19

DH - Evan Bigley

This guy has certainly been for a ride with us. He's never wowed me which is why he hasn't found a permanent spot in the lineup but he's always good when he gets a chance to play. I'm not really sure how I got him, his history doesn't tell me but he's 32 and maybe we should've given him a chance. He's a career .287 hitter through 556 games. This year, he's hitting .380 in 58 games so he's taking advantage of injuries and making the most of his opportunity and has actually bumped a player down to the bench.

Ratings - 15/4/12

DL - Hunter Morris - 1B

He returns in 3 days to take over Morneau's spot but Hunter Morris is another guy who I thought could be MVP someday but has taken a dive in ratings, he once had 17 contact and 19 power, he hit .316 with 47 HR the year before I traded for him. In his injury plagued year thus far, he has hit .314 with 12 HR and will hopefully provide us a big boost when he returns. I got him down for 9.2M until 2022 so if he keeps up this production, I'll be happy with that extension.

DL - Tony Bryant - 1B

Ahh Tony Bryant, the next Joe Mauer of Minnesota. 3rd round pick in 2012, his ratings were once 18/18/19 but injuries have slowed him down as well. This guy was going to be something special. The first Twins player to hit over 50 HR in a year since Harmon Killebrew, he got a nice 7 year, $109,000,000 deal which I thought was actually a steal at the time but now he's halfway through a 10 month injury, was hitting .257 with 6 HR before he got hurt and his ratings have dropped to 13/11/13 and will be making 16 mil for the next 5 years. The worst part is that he will be hurt until after FA starts so I can't even trade him to clear up space this year. He was a player I got attached to and now I want him gone.

SP Liam Hendriks

The supposed ace of my staff for years has been very good and deserves the extension he got last year. With a career 3.88 ERA through 9 seasons, he's shown that control can be huge in being an ace. At 30 years old, he's locked up for 4 years at 14.5 mil and is worth it all. Actually the fourth best pitcher on this year's staff with a 7-7 record and 3.92 ERA

10/17/16

SP Dellin Betances

The third best pitcher on the staff and one of the FA next year, along with the top 2 SP. He's 31 years old, signed as a FA last year when we had injury problems and now is 12-4 with a 3.41 ERA but is commanding 17 mil a year in money that I do not have.

15/11/13

SP Sugar Ray Marimon

My 2nd best SP this year, is 30 years old and wants 8.5mil a year, probably most likely to sign with me next year if I can find the money. He is 6-6 with a 3.09 ERA after 21 games

Ratings - 12/14/14

SP Stephen Strasburg

I saw him sitting in FA a month into the year but he was still injured for 3 months so I decided to take a shot and signed him to a 7.2 mil, 1 year contract. Which I now think I should've done for multiple years. Before getting hurt again, he is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and had a no hitter in the 9th in just his 2nd start back. However, he wants 21 million next year and there is no way I can come up with that kind of money unless my budget goes up a lot next year but I'm hoping he can lead me to a WS title with Liam, Dellin and Sugar Ray.

Ratings - 20/15/16

I hope you guys read all or at least some of it. I'm 53-48 and 6GB right now with two months to play so I'm hoping once everyone heals up, we can make a dash for the title.

I am an avid Twins fan. Actually have a 20 game plan to Target Field this season. I might just have to start a Twins game.

After seeing you post in this thread, I figured at least you would read it. It definitely helps you get more into the game if it's a team you follow. Although word of warning, don't let personal attachments get in the way, that's probably why I've only been to the playoffs once.
