Thanks Wolf. That's what I was using, just wasn't sure if there was something out there more accurate or not.

You mention that you used cities in the top 100 in North America, etc, but where did you get the information from. I'm working on a fictional league of my own (similar to yours, but I want mine to be world wide, with league associations for a true world series... I may end up needing a new HDD for the size of this project, lol), and am wondering what the most reliable information is for this stuff.
Sometimes city lists only list the population within the city limits of the main/best known city within a metropolitan area. It really makes a difference to use a list of largest metropolitan areas like this one in Wikipedia:

This may end up being a question of me not understanding the game, but I need help in getting the final version of the quickstart working. I have downloaded it from the share website in the link give (the add-on centeral download is the first version). I have tried to unzip it to the quickstart directory, but every time I try to access it to start I is never found. Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong? I would love to get this quickstart a try.

Thanks,

Download it from the in-game Add-ons Central - which is located at the middle of the bottom of the very first screen - by pressing the "Download" button. Then install it by pressing the "Install" button and letting it do what it wants.

After the installation is finished, the FBL is available as a choice from the first screen under "Quickstart Game".

I appreciate this Wolf, but the version that is downloaded from Add Ons Central is not the fixed version. At least that is what it appears to me as injuries are still turned off and it appears that all of the owners have the same fiscal settings. If I am wrong, please let me know and I will just move on with this quickstart.

Once again thanks,

For that you'll have to ask Cody to get the Addon version updated. I really can't understand why it hasn't been. Changing out a file on a website is at most five minute's worth of work.

For the other one, just download it and then unzip it into your OOTP 13 QuickStart folder.

Can't you just go into commissioner mode and change the injury setting?

I know how to do the injuries, but not sure on the financials. Also, I am not sure what else was updated.

Cody, or anyone for that matter, how do I get this league to start up? I have downloaded it twice and have clicked on everything in the folder but can't get the q.s. to start. I guess you won't doubt me when I say I'm a 67 year old and when computers came around I was not still in school. Most things no prob. but others, well...I never got the word. Thanks.

Ron, select QuickStart from the main menu. Does the FBL show up? If yes, select it on it and run it from there. If not, see my post above about getting it from Addon Central and installing it.

All-Star Game Bug?

Love the FBL, having a great time with it. But I've notice a small bug, but one that's kind of annoying to me, as I play both GM and field manager.

The FBL's All-Star Game seems to be set every season for July 14, after the July 9-11 All-Star Break (in the first year). The dates may be different in year two, but I've confirmed that the same anomaly (All-Star Game three days after the All-Star Break) confirms in the second season of the FBL as well.

This causes the game to hang and crash if you play out a game that involves any player also on an All-Star team.

I can avoid using MY All-Stars, but the CPU seems to inevitably use at least one All-Star, meaning the game crashes when I try to leave it.

Oddly enough, the CPU can field ALL my All-Stars on All-Star Game Day in BOTH the All-Star Game and the regular season game, and that's just fine.

Not sure if this is something that can be fixed in the quickstart, realigning the All-Star Game to the right date, but if it can be, I'd really appreciate it.

This is all happening in OOTP for Mac, BTW... Latest update.

Thanks again for a great league!

Could anyone possibly provide an updated link to the quickstart in its Final version? The file is no longer available on OP's file storage site, and I unfortunately downloaded the previous version and am unsure how to randomize the owners patience and the like.

Thanks for any information.

Thanks, I'll check it out tonight after work.

EDIT: Took me an extra couple nights to where I could give it the attention it deserved, but I'm installing it now. Will confirm that its the final for other posters as soon as I confirm. Thanks again!

Wanted to confirm that the file appears to be the final as far as I can tell. Owner stats like patience and the like were altered, along with the injuries being turned on. Thank you for reposting it so fast. I actually started my own league using 24 MLB squads and AAA the night that I asked about the file, but I think I will still play it and it looks great!

Thanks very much for your hard work putting this together, and to all the artists who put together the logos and other art for this fine package!

I'm having issues. I haven't played since OOTP 11 and I'm sure that has a lot to do with why I'm so clueless. I've forgotten a lot of what I knew before.

I would loooove to use this "quickstart" but as a league that starts in 1901. Last night I made a template of it and I've gotten numerous errors so I know I did something wrong.

Can anyone please send me in the direction of what I need to do to use this league as a fictional league beginning in 1901?

Or is there anything out there like the "fictional league in a box" from OOTP11 that I was able to apparently easily (I've forgotten a ton...) able to set up in 1901.

I apologize if I sound like a newb. In a lot of ways, I am haha.
