In the AL though you need to get 27 proper outs. NL ones require 24 outs plus 3 gimmes... Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

Cain had a perfecto, Dickey had a near no-no, and Doubront had a no-hit bid broken up in the sixth. On the same day.

Dickey's was a No-no. That was an error by Wright in the first inning.

Edit to add: Having seen the video though, I'd call it an error. Have any scoring decisions ever been changed? Last edited by Cryomaniac; 06-14-2012 at 01:06 PM. |

I agree. I was watching the game. Wright did not need to barehand the ball. Because he tried to, though, he probably made the official scorer believe it was a more difficult play than it really was.

Bronson Arroyo through 7. Not gonna last. My money on Taylor Green to get a hit.

That 1-2 pitch was close. Pitchers going for a no-no usually get calls like that. Bah! Still a great game by Burnett.

So, for the Cardinals, there are few news that probably are not so good for the agents.
Ryan Franklin retired. Corey Patterson signed with the Brewers. They picked up Eugenio Velez. Pretty boring offseason for them. Feels like I'm missing something …

Felix Hernandez perfect through 8. It's the MLB.tv free game of the day too, so it's meant to be. |

Verlander
Starting this early. Only the 3rd inning but considering the lineup Verlander has to face this could be easier than most.
