Awesome news, Markus. I remember bringing this up in a wishlist thread I posted a while back and I'm very glad this made it in. Thanks for all of your effort!

Or south on the Turnpike.

If I were to take another job, it'd be a fun one like the Rays or Royals, or a real challenge, like the Pirates, a team that's a total disaster everywhere.

tejdog1, you sound like me. Whenever I take franchise in OOTP 11 I try to find one of the worst teams around. For me, just getting a winning record is a lot more fun than bragging about how I just won my third world series in a row.

things are progressing very nicely here, beta testing started last week and I am about to implement the last missing features.

In the meantime I have added some new stuff that you might like:
- New player development screen, here you set (the new) player development budget, see the standings of all your minor league teams, a list of your prospects and a graphical representation of your organizational depth chart.
- Recoded international scouting. You can now pick countries you want to scout, with the cost depends on the baseball program quality of that country. Also, 'hidden' players are now almost exclusively 16-18 years of age. If undiscovered for a couple of years, they will be replaced by young ones again.
- Added the option to have international free agents enter the market once free agents file. You can set the number of players who enter the league that way or simply switch this feature off.
- Added history for coaches, just like managers before.

I know I promised screenshots this week, but I was simply too busy to take them and write some stuff up, so this will have to wait another few days.

Cheers,
Markus
I still want to know if the AI can find "hidden" players? I'm not sure there has ever been a definitive answer to this question.

Waiting haha. haha hopefully with the lack of screens, lack of road to release that this means a lot of work is being done and the game actually sees release on 6/20. if so, cheers.

I can definitively say yes. I have seen it happen. I know it happens. To test it however set a league up in 1900 with scouting and hidden players on, set the foreign % of players in the amateur draft to 0 and simulate to 2000, or even 1950 if you want, then look at all retired and active players. If there are players from outside the league's country you have the answer.

Edit: Well I just decided to post a picture instead. This player started playing 11 years before I took over a team. As you can see he was discovered by an AI team.

it made my day, which kind of sucks. The day has only been going for 17 minutes and there's no where to go but down now.

I don't use "hidden players" other than in the standard MLB leagues, but the AI definitely finds them as well. Recently in my current MLB league, the Braves signed a 16 year old French player, and I traded for a Korean from the Cardinals they found a few years ago. I've seen several others as well.

One thing I always noticed about international "hidden" finds by my scouts, is that they all seemed basically terrible. Maybe my international scouts are all just incompetant, but basically all were rated as having no potential whatsoever and this would happen again and again, there was no way I could sign them at all. I play only the real MLB league and was wondering, while the topic of international scouting is up, whether this was just bad luck on my part, poor scouting, or something systemic you may have looked at?

Cheers.
