I've never played puresim so I can't comment. But please don't ever mention baseball mogul in the same sentence as ootp, it's like comparing Roy Halladay to Oliver Perez.

If it has the same features, if not more, than that sounds pretty intriguing! |

But this part is always true, as long as I have fun playing the last year version I can wait.

Online leagues with MLB2K are pretty good. But you have to restarted once the season is over. That's the only knock on 2k..but then again, MLB2k isn't a text sim...so I wouldn't expect it to have that.

First, I am a fan of Puresim Baseball and a big fan of the way Shaun participates on his forum. That being said, Puresim has less features and configurability than OOTP by a pretty wide margin. Now, perhaps those missing features don't matter to you (or another player). In that case Puresim may be the better game, even if it has less features. I fully recommend trying the Puresim demo to anyone looking for a good single-player baseball game, since Puresim doesn't have multiplayer or online leagues. I think it may provide more realistic results with historical players than OOTP. But claiming that Puresim has more features than OOTP is a little silly.

How on earth can someone come on here and claim that Puresim baeball 4 has the same features that OOTP 12 has "if not more" and yet does not support online leagues?!? Sheesh! |

![]() As far as how someone can claim Puresim Baseball 4 has more features, I'm not sure. A person can claim it is more fun, handles a particular mode of play better, or doesn't require as much work to get a game going, etc..., but I don't think stating mistruths about either game is a benefit to anyone. It creates unrealistic expectations for those going to try the Puresim demo, and doesn't help players choose the baseball game that is best for them. I'm all for trying to help people find the game that is the best fit for them. I preordered OOTP 12, but lately I am playing the Puresim 4 demo. |

I'm normally impatient about a new release coming out but I am quite happy and having a blast with OOTP11 so it doesn't bother me this time around... for the very first time actually.

It would be nice if these guys would give us a ball park time frame..they say "spring"...
That's somewhere between March and May...90ish days. Would be great if they just came out and said on or about 15 April is our goal instead of giving people a 90 day window. |

Ofcourse they shouldn't lie. Any moron can come up with a feasible guess. 3 month window is a bit wide, especially for a yearly game. If they know it will be done late Spring, then just say May 1...early spring..then say Mar 15...not rocket science so you made SSgt or TSgt yet Airmen Smith? Been around for 4 years..should be at least a SSgt

Back to the release date thing. I'm glad we agree ootp are not morons but I think a 3 month window isn't to bad. They need to find a good balance between releasing a game before it's completely fixed and releasing a game that requires as few patches as possible. I am concerned a bit that the beta hadn't started yet but I feel really good about an April release. That seems to be a good common ground. Sure it's after opening day but it's a lot better then having the game cone out in June like a previous version. |

I agree if May gets here and ootp 12 isn't here I will be mad to, I'll still buy it because the other two alternatives are just no where near ootp. I actually played mogul for about 3 years before getting ootp 6.5 and while I loved mogul at that time, once I found ootp there was no turning back. Mogul is a good beginner game to get ppl used to playing sports sims and I do love the speed the game has but the features are just two few. Puresim, well I have played it, but its caught between mogul and ootp. While more in depth then mogul it is no where near the complex game ootp is. Plus they joined wolverine studios so I don't count on any of there games anymore after there football game debacle. One thing you can be sure about is that as soon as ootp has a release date, you can bet mogul will release there date at least 1 week before ootp.

I remember a few versions ago when they gave a "ballpark" estimate to the release, and when it got pushed back everyone showed up to the boards with torches and pitchforks. I can understand why they keep a secret. OOTP fans are like Yankees fans that way.
