I'm using a MAC Book Pro and downloaded the original OOTP games when it first came out and I have 3-4 leagues up and running. When the first patch came out I read there were some issues and that it might be best to just download the latest Mac version of the game. For whatever reason, I didn't update my game. Now a second patch is out and I want to update my OOTP game.

Can I download the latest verison and re-install the game (backing up my leagues) or should I just download patch 1 and 2 and install them? Any advice?
I downloaded patch 2 only (I skipped 1; I'm almost positive you don't need it), and installed on my Mac. Be sure to point the patch directly to your game folder, and not only to the correct drive; my first patch attempt didn't work because of this. I have the impression some Mac users have apparently needed to download a fresh install of the latest version because of patching difficulties, but I had no problem once I got the path right.

Note also there's a thread up in Tech Support where two Mac users on Mac Book Pros, 10.4.9 (I think), have experienced slow performance with the latest patch. You might want to have a look at that thread. I'm on an iBook, 10.4.2, and the patch works brilliantly.

Personally, I don't think it's the last patch. As satisfied as I am, overall, with the game, I've recently starting having that patch-itchy feeling like something's on the horizon. I'd like to see a final patch that tweaks some of the smaller issues and campaigns that have been bandied about, but I believe we'd likely see a "What's Left to be Addressed" thread for public feedback before it becomes a reality. That's just my though.

I agree that's typically how it's handled....I was hoping the feeder leagues could be tweaked a bit to reagrd leagues size and the number of feeder teams, and that the AI regarding how it handles it's prospects could be polished a bit more- but I get the impression Markus doesn't see these as particularly pressing issues.

Either way, I think it's a bit ominous none of this has been discussed in the last several weeks- perhaps everyone is busy working on said patch!

Well, there was mention of work on the Cato-importer. IIRC, it required at least a week to code. So progress is progress, even if it may not be focused on areas that interest the entire audience. But the Cato-crowd, still hanging on for import capability, no doubt constitutes a substantial and influential number of people. It's an important addition.

It is not the last patch.

Is there a timeframe, or a list of issues that's being worked on for inclusion in the next patch?

I really hope the problem with lefty/righty splits is addressed in a new patch. Seems like after you run through enough seasons, every player performs identically against lefties and righties. Having players that perform differently against lefties and righties is a huge part of baseball, and one hopes it isn't overlooked in a game with as much depth as this one.

Compersation needs to be addressed because I lost like Pedro Martinez and so on good people and didn't get a Draft Pick in return.
Also at the Drafts,Top people available in rank order from 1 to like 100 in the Collage Draft, commentary like is this pick good one for the team,Team Needs and so on.
Rumors should also include where the person is rumored to be going to and for and the person team can commit if it wants to by rejecting or accepting the Trade or sending back a different Trade offer for your person they want
Postion Strength Overview Page is good but expand it to everybody in your System,Best Hitter,Best Pitcher and so on and could include Tops Prospects Page in it to.

Speaking of the latest patch 2.0.2.53 - I thought one of the fixes that came out with this several weeks ago was the crash bug after a pitcher was injured? Playing tonight, 1970 replay as the Cards. Jerry Reuss gets hurt throwing in the 4th inning of a game against the Dodgers and up pops the windows screen saying OOTP will need to close. WTF?

Can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks.

Scoreboard blank after Patch 2.0.2

I installed patch 2.0.2 on my MacBook Pro and it seemed to mess up my OOTP game, so downloaded the entire game again and re-installed it. Then did the patch and now its to work fine, though it says version 2.0.1.43 - not 2.0.2.

The only issue I have is that when I play a game the scoreboard is blank - no team abbr or numbers, outs, etc... Any advice or suggestions to help fix this?

Question about 2.02 patch

I imported a historical league before the 2.02 patch. According to the "fixed items" in the patch -Improved importing of defensive ratings & positions in historical leagues.

Will it make a significant enough difference for me to re-import my season?

This bug is destined to be 'claimed fixed' in every version of this game for the rest of eternity, but the truth is that it never can be finally killed, because it's hardwired into the system. I'm pretty sure it's a subparagraph within the Gload Code. If it goes, the whole thing falls apart like a house of cards.

For real? I think the exact opposite is true. 4-5 of my batting order spots are platoons because of way too much platoon difference. I think the issue is that both hitters and pitchers have a platoon advantage built in (in most, but not all cases) so the difference is actually magnified x2.

Mac update to 2.0.2

Hello, I have downloaded the 202 patch and when I install it and click on the icon the program starts to load then it will close after 1 second or so. Is there anything you can think of what may be wrong. I have downloaded the version of the play and buy demo this week. Is that the latest version? or am i having issues with updating to the 202 version? Can you please help. I would really like to get it 100% updated before I start anything with the new game.
Thanks

I've only had pc's so can't help you out with mac issues. If I were you I'd post in the tech forum and while waiting for a reply do a search there to see if anyone has had, and hopefully found a fix, for your issue.

anyone have a direct link to the patch?
