No, you are not alone. I think Ohio State will be the undisputed champion when all is said and done. I was just listing what I HOPED would happen.

Oh yeah, no doubt Ohio State should be NC. I don't know what the big hype is about on Saturday, it is clear Michigan can't hang with Ohio State.

True, then I would have a meltdown. Everyone agreed to the damn BCS, there should be no splits, I don't care how badly a team gets screwed. USC gets a split but Auburn doesn't? BS

I don't think that's what he was saying, I think he predicts OSU to win, what's wrong with that? The odds are in their favor.

I know he isn't saying that. I AM SAYING THAT. I don't see how Michigan stays with Ohio State for more than 2 guarters. It may start close, but the speed of Ohio State will be too much for Manningham and the rest of the Wolverine team. Ohio State wins Saturday by 17+.

The AP poll withdrew from the BCS formula, so I don't think they agree to it.

Yeah but not at the time when USC was awarded, correct?

Yeah, it was just after last season ended IIRC.

By the way, I think Ohio State wins by a field goal.

I think you are just worried about the game. You shouldn't be. Ohio State has the strengths that goes right against Michigan's weakness. They are slow at the CB and Safety spots. They can stop the run and then when a team has to pass they can stop that, but they won't be able to force Ohio State into long passing downs. Ohio State will probably be able to pass at will on Michigan. And if they do cover them, Michigan will have a hard time stopping any type of run by Smith. 35-17 I predict as the final score.

I hope you're right. I do think Michigan is going to have a very difficult time matching up when OSU goes 4 wide. Hopefully Tressel understands that the best time to pass will be on 1st down to setup 2nd and medium-short.

IMO, the only way Ohio State loses is if they have a complete meltdown and have like 4 turnovers and maybe allow a blocked punt or something. If both teams play well, Ohio State will win easily.

I still have nightmares from 95, which is the first time OSU broke my heart.

That 95 team was unreal and Michigan beat them, I didn't think that team could lose.

The fact of the matter is, over the last 11 years, this is only the 3rd or 4th best OSU team, 2 of the 3 teams that were better lost to Michigan teams that were not nearly as good as they one they are playing Saturday.

You are right, anything can happen in a rivarlry game where each team knows each other so well.

I'm sure for all those saying they deserve a shot would love when Ohio State beats them 34-6 in the most boring national championship game.

Look at their schedule. Just look. Is that a schedule that deserves to be in the BCS title game? They have one quality win, in what has proven to be a watered down conference lately, and suddenly they deserve NC hype?

I don't even know how credible the Big Easy is anymore. The only team that Louisville/WVU/Rutgers played besides each other are Miami, who isn't even that good anymore, and Maryland (both played by WVU). If you want NC consideration you have to put tough teams on your schedule.

It's hard to say anyone in the Big East has legitamate title chances. I know WVU beat Georgia last year, but after the shock and awe 28-0 lead they took over Georgia's mistake prone team, Georgia outscored them 35-10.

4 would be ideal, 8 max.

I hope if they ever go to a playoff (which I don't see happening for a while) that it's a reasonable # of teams that will all have a legit arguement to be competing for a championship.
16 or more team NCAA Football Championships now in existence

Div IAA http://ncaasports.com/football/mens/schedules

Div 2 http://ncaasports.com/football/mens/schedules/divii

Div 3 http://ncaasports.com/football/mens/schedules/diviii

Its ridiculous that the NCAA doesnt adopt the same system for Division 1 schools.

Couple of unwanted opinions

1) on the topic of Rutgers - why section of 6 conferences as "BCS" conferences if you aren't going to honor it. If there are only two undefeated teams remaining from the "BCS" conferences then they should play for the title ... regardless if its OSU and Florida or Vanderbilt and Stanford.

2) My idea for a playoff has always been a 12 game playoff. 6 winners of the BCS conferences with a committee picking the 6 at large teams. Criteria to be considered for smaller conferences is A) win your conference B) play nothing but Division 1 teams C) be undefeated or have played 4 top 25 teams during the season. Notre Dame same rules as now .. finish in top 8 for automatic bid, top 12 for consideration.

The committee then places 4 of the BCS conference winners or Notre Dame as the 1st round byes and seed the rest accordingly.

No, it's what makes Division 1, Division 1. No reason to conform to what the other divisions are doing. 9-3 teams flat out shouldn't be playing for an NCAA Division 1 football championship.

Besides there's a ton of D3 and D2 schools, there are far fewer D1.
