interesting point of view - the ironic thing is that the sox let one of the best announcers in baseball go in john rooney - he was great

Hell, John Kruk just said 10 minutes ago on BT that we can't catch the White Sox, even though we are 1 game back, just beat them twice in Chicago, and play them again tomorrow.
See the reason I like Blyleven and Bremer is because they arn't really negative. I have never heard them insult what any player has ever really done, Twins player or otherwise. That's the problem with ESPN is if a player screws up their Mr. Morgan jumps on it and is, as most people know, an asshole about it. I think it's just nice that they take a mistake for what it is and don't jump on any player if the make one. Joe Morgan is interesting to watch every once in a while because his head is so far up his ass, but it also gets annoying rather quickly.

If the sexual harrassment allegations are true it might prove difficult for him to get another broadcasting job. With that track record, even a single incident could result in a nasty lawsuit.

Not if he takes over for Joe Morgan and has to work with Jon Milner

Reynolds' offense is waaaay easier to "explain away" than Alperts. If someone can come back after everything Alpert did, then Reynolds will be working somewhere next year

All local announcers are homers. Every. Single. One.

There's nothing wrong with it. Why should the hometown announcers be impartial? National broadcasters need to be impartial. Local guys absolutely do not.

I'll bet no more often that any other paper with a pro team.

People here actually like Reynolds?

I wouldn't say that I liked him. But I didn't have the same amount of disdain towards him as I do towards Kruk and Phillips.

Good lord.

I'm pretty sure bulldog was pointing out Scully as an example disproving the statement he was quoting.

Dumb and rude, son.

Your job requires reading for context. Such a rule is asinine.

There have been some changes to some of the rules, and we will probably make more changes, and revisions of some rules, but, the quoting of the offending posts was something the folks above wanted reduced.

The rule might be tough, but I know why it was instituted. It is better to PM the mods instead of quoting it, and just reply like you did BlackHatCowboy to the person that posted the offensive post.

Hopefully we can revisit some of these after things have slowed down and make some changes, but for now the responsibility remains with the poster to make sure their post is within the guidelines for now.
