After applying the patch, what I thought was "getting around" this problem (described by me in an earlier post) no longer does. The CPU continues to change things, plus now I'm crashing when I try to play games (and it's NOT my computer- very high end machine with lots of RAM).

There is a setting in "game setup>other functions(bottom right)" where you can turn off the AI changing rosters for all teams.

I have tested this in the beta patches, and in the release patch, and it seems this problem is a thing of the past

I quickly setup a league just to test and it seems that the problem might be fixed for me. The one thing I did have to do was to set my depth chart to basically only start when starter tired. Even set at start every 20th game the AI was starting the bench guy way too much. I am able to even play as commissioner and GM and with full manager system on. As long as I keep my depth chart set at start only if starter tired it seems to keep everything ok. It stops me from running any type of platoon but it has allowed me to play without any other major problems so far. Need to further test to see if it holds up but it has so far through about half a season.

In game setup do you have the transaction options set to your control?

Good evening Steve -
Just to make sure this will allow cpu teams to make their own moves, but the cpu will NOT change a team we have control over? Is this correct?

I'd like to know this as well. Also, if I am playing in "commish" mode, and have no "human managers", but have the "act as" button activated to control a team, will the computer AI make moves for all teams but mine?

I'm still confused at this point, so I'll do this. Here are some screenshots of my game...

Here, we have the simple screen of my team. Now it shows me as "Act as San Diego"...

and now, I scroll up to Manager, and it has me as the manager, GM, whatever I am of San Diego

And now we have the select GM screen, where it says I am the San Diego GM

Now, I need these questions answered.

a) If this is still the case where the commissioner is not really the GM after all, this will not work for online leagues in which the commissioner is in fact the GM.
b) If GMs can be fired in-game, this will hurt online leagues, because once a GM is fired (in-game), sometimes, sometimes not, the team will not vacate the team, and so the team is stuck on autopilot.
c) I can't find it anywhere, but where is the "export to FTP" or the "Import to FTP" feature for each team?

Unhappy AI still messing up lineups

Just downloaded the patch. Still getting wierd lineup changes.

I set my depth charts and lineups, but when I go to manage or quick-play a game, the AI replaces my saved lineup with some other lineup that doesn't exist anywhere. I've checked to make sure I have the lineups and depth charts done right (i.e. I haven't accidently set the versus LHP instead of the versus LHP + DH). But nothing. I've saved the game, exited, gone back in, but no matter what I do the AI insists on keeping the old lineup.... any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

I dont' know if this has been suggested or not, but go to your Manager Home Page and make sure that you have your lineups set to be set by you, not a computer AI guy.

Wierd... once I went in and completely erased my "versus LHP" and "versus RHP" lineups, the AI suddenly started using my correct DH lineups. Strange... almost like an old set of my non-DH lineups were overriding my DH lineups. I guess the problem is solved for now, but I think this could still be a wierd bug cropping up...

Thanks for the suggestion - everything was setup to be controlled by me. So I'm not sure what the issue was...

Now i am not playing commish mode and i am not using the Complete Scouting or Coaching system. So when i select the personell tab, i don't see any one listed so i technically should not have a head coach other than me and i do have me listed as the team control settings, but the AI still likes to switch me CF on me.

Minor League Management

No matter what I do, I can't seem to prevent the computer from rearranging my minor league lineups. Are other people having this issue? It seems to leave my major league stuff alone, but the minors are out of my control, even with them set to be under my control...

As for the pitching staff....they don't seem to rearrange what I lay out, so much as ignore it. In one of my minor league teams, my "starting rotation" seems to be two of my listed starters and 3 of my MRs.

I guess until the patch comes out I should just set the computer to manage my minors system, since it's going to do it anyway.

I would like to hear from someone official that this is actually being looked into though, because in all the "Ahhhh, the AI won't leave my roster alone" threads, I've yet to see an SI person really say "Yes this is a problem, yes we're looking into it"

Is the game patched?

I am digging into this, but I need to know if this is patched or not.

Main screen says 1.0.1.12242, which I believe means I'm patched. Reproducing it is easy for me....set up some minor league lineups and then let it sim.

For the pitching staff, I noticed when I went to check on my guys to see if there was anyone to promote, and half my "starting rotation" has no games started.
