I heard that they've know about this since Spring Training.

Probably not smart to try and play through it, since it's always better to be safe then sorry... but I guess they didn't want Toronto fans to freak out over the fact that their top 3 starters would be hurting for opening day.

Hopefully Lilly can rebound tomorrow... he does have a habit of being effective against the Sox.

Definitely.

I think we have a shot at taking the series. Clement didn't fare too well against us last year IIRC.

I hope David Wells has 5 or 6 starts against the Jays this year.

Maybe he didn't drink enough before the game last night.

Rios will be the everyday RF by May 1.

I hope this is Rios breakout year for a number of reasons, one of which is to keep Hinske on the bench. When does that guy's contract run out? (answer: not soon enough)

According to JP, Rios is starting in RF tonight, not sure about the DH tho. It's pretty obvious that the platoon should be at DH and not RF. Hinske has good numbers against RHP and there is enough flexibility on the roster to keep everyone happy, rested, and in situations that complement their strengths.

Excellent.

Another good game today.

Only problems I saw were that Reed should have been in left field for defensive purposes, and I think that Tallet should have been left in for the ninth. He's your long guy, why not leave him in for more then 1 inning?

Great start for Lilly today, you can always count on the Red Sox to get him on track it seems.

Not the best of pitching matchups for the upcoming weekend.

Downs vs Vazquez on Friday
Burnett vs Buerhle on Saturday
Towers vs Garcia on Sunday

Ya... the group I was with last year in the stands always kept track of K's in a weird way. With every pitcher, they had special K's. Fraser's was a smug picture of Frasier Crane with a K over it, Lilly's was Roosevelt... most players had special ones, but those were the only two I remember right now.
