Kevin "Haggis" Scotia was unavailable for comment. His trainer has sent him to Ingonish for six hours of bagpiping each day to improve his endurance. They are also planning to experiment with a steady diet of oatmeal, salt cod and Drambuie to improve punching power.

Knocked down three times, one for a 10-count and gushing blood so badly, Al Gavin can't stop it? What's my overall rating, -6?
Maybe I should try some of that haggis in training?

First I'll like to say thanks to Don Koss, he came out and gave it everything he had and help me put a hell of a show. The Dunn fight showed me that I'd really have to work harder if I wanted to be successful in this tournment and I can begin to describe how good it feels to see that hard work pay off as I get my first win.
Koss is a tough guy for sure and I knew he would be coming out full force after that heartbreaking lose to Mund. I hit that kid with everything I had and he still won't go down and I'm still amazed that even after all the bodywork I put in at the start of the match that he still had the energy to stage that late rally. My hats off to Koss and I hope he can get it going and make it to the next stage I'd love to throw down with him again. The next fight with Brian Brandt should be a heck of a fight. He's shown his skills and toughness in his last two fights both of which came against quality foes. I feel that I match up well against him and I fully expect to win but I know it'll be tough and if I don't fight to my best I'll leave with my second lost. First, I'd like to apologize to all of my fans and supporters for a sub-par performance. I lost by a mere point on all three cards. I ate rotten fish about 3 hours before the fight and felt horrible. Not to make any excuses, of course. But that's the only reason I hit the floor late in the fight after getting hit by a body shot.
I was as fast as ever on the draw... but food poisoning had me firing blanks for the first half of the bout. I would have backed out, but I didn't want food poisoning and a 105 degree fever to rob my fans out of an action packed night of fighting. So I did my best and almost had him out in the last round. But all the credit in the world to Finley. He fought the fight of his life against the "The Kid" who was only at about 15%. But let's give him credit on a good fight, I don't want to make any excuses even though I lost by a point and lumped him up my rapid fire combinations. But no excuses. Lots of fighters fight with food poisoning and life threatening fevers. I'll be back. And next time... these gloves will be fully loaded! |

Once again I would like to thank my opponent Mike "Hector" Hanson for taking me the distance and helping me get some rounds under my belt.
You're all heart Mike, Not only did this man get off the canvas 4 times he also left me with this nice scare on my eyelid. Anyone who has the courage to climb off the floor 4 times deserves so much respect from not only the fans but also all the other fighters in this tournament. Its fighters like Mike here that make me love this sport so much. I feel my performance tonight was satisfactory, but I’m going to have to step it up if I want to be a contender for the championship and become a fan favourite. Also thanks to Jacob Duran for doing what he did with the cut, there’s know doubt that future opponents are going to focus on my left eye an get it to open up again. My next fight against the fighter who calls himself "GForce" should be another good fight for me. Sure he hasn't managed to win a fight at this stage but don't forget ladies and gentlemen this is boxing and it only takes a lucky punch, a corrupt referee or 2 heavily intoxicated judges to add a figure into the losses column of a fighters record. So far I'm the only fighter in this tournament with an undefeated record to not score a stoppage, I'll try my hardest to change that against GForce but I don't see him just rolling over and letting me stop him, and nor do I want him to. I didn't take up this sport because it was easy, I took it up because I don't want to get a real job and I like watching myself on TV, and you better not forget that. Thank you for attending this post fight press conference Last edited by jcstuntman; 11-10-2005 at 05:33 PM. |

We winless chaps have to start fighting each other eventually. But the next time around, I may have to run it, so I don't knocked silly.
I was thinking, while we wait for the role-play module, to manually run a role-play campaign once this tourney was done. I have all the rules for the board game role-play and they could easily be tweaked to account for some of the new ratings. This way everyone would start out fairly close (say an overall rating of 3-5). If you're not familiar with how it works, you get a certain number of points for wins (more for better wins) and you save up these points to apply to improve an attribute(s) of your choice. I'd share everyone's initial generation with them (but not other players), pick a start date like 1981 and use all the active heavys, all the role-play guys and perhaps some tomato cans for a universe and change the real guys as time went by. The only problem I have is posting results. I don't know how/where to post results on the web and how to link to them on this board. Maybe everyone will be sick of the concept once this tourney is over. It's a big undertaking and I'm just throwing some ideas around.

We go at it next. One of us should get there hand raised in victory for the first time. The way we've been going though, we might have a double ko.
I predict the Bear will, go over the mountain. (As usual) Bear Quote:

Wow, I was knocked down twice by Mudster but still managed to make it ot the final bell. At least I let him taste the canvass once.
Congrats Mudster!

I'm improving. A split decision loss after being hit with everything but the kitchen sink in round one is a lot better than a ko loss.
Do we get a rematch, Chris? I'd like a shot at atoning for the ko you laid on me in round one. Bear Quote:

It doesn't matter if somebody up there likes me, unless he's a judge with a scorecard at ringside.

![]() I have no idea what Javier has planned after the first round-robin. If that's it then there will be no chance for revenge. Based on my fights to-date, Javier must have made me a free-swinger with no chin.
