Kirby Puckett of the Moose Jaw Cowboys delivered his 2000th career hit today as Moose Jaw defeated the Monte Carlo Blazers 2-1 at home. Puckett hit a 7th inning single off of Cliff Young to get the milestone hit. Puckett had 4 seasons of 200 hits or more for the Seattle Mariners and much like real life got 2 World Series rings.

Ed Konetchy's 400th career homer accounted for the lone run today as the Tacoma Battle Wings were dropped by the Barbados Arsenal 2-1 at home. Konetchy hit the homer in the 9th inning off of Matt Kinzer but Tacoma fell short. Konetchy has 23 homers this season and his best year was 2023 with 66 homers and he had mammoth seasons for the San Juan Storm between 2022 and 2028 before Bill Gates offered him the big contract to play in Tacoma.

The Calgary Fusion were dealt a heavy blow losing starting pitcher Juan Marichal for the season with a torn meniscus. Marichal was 10-6 this year after winning 20 games in 2028. Calgary is in 2nd place in the AL West. The loss occurred on the road in a 4-2 blown lead loss to the lowly Worcester Sundevils at the Atrium.

1B Babe Dahlgren was dealt to the Beijing Airhogs today by the Aruba Jackrabbits for 2B Wally Weingarten and LF Kyle Farquhar. Dahlgren had 9 homers and 22 RBI's this year for Aruba.

The NL East 2nd place Halifax Eclipse made a trade to land RF Pete Fox from the Texas Rangers and gave up phallic challenged Dan "Pee Wee" Monahan and C Roger Hed to Texas. Fox had 19 homer and 62 RBI's with a .307 average in Arlington so he should help Halifax chase Brooklyn.

Tommy Edman is heading back to Florida as he was traded today to the West Palm Beach Dinos from the Little Saint James Castaways for CF Omari Smith and 1B Jim Maler. Edman has 15 homers and 56 RBI's with a .296 average on the private island, so he should give West Palm a boost as they try to catch the Cozumel Scouts in the NL Tropical

The Evansville Steelhawks made a trade to land infielder Tim Flannery from the Panama Buccaneers for RP Jack Warner and RP Fernando Hernandez. Flannery was struggling at .195 in Panama.

Superstar George Davis had a monster 4 homer game today for the Utah Saints as they obliterated the Delaware Big Train 23-7. Davis hit 4 solo homers in the game while Wally Schang had 3 hits and 6 RBI's in the one sided battle.

2029 - Report #39

Cy Williams of the Moline Oilers hit his 400th career homer today in a 5-1 home loss to the Vermont Black Bears. Williams hit a solo homer in the 8th inning off of Vermont reliever Jumbo Elliott. He has 26 homers this year with his best seasons with the Sacramento Bees where he hit 64 homers in 2021 and 2024. Roy McMillan had 2 hits and 2 RBI's to lead Vermont to victory.

In a pretty huge trade today the Rio Astronauts acquired star outfield Jeff Heath from the Pittsburgh Pirates for 1B Adrian Gonzalez and SP Frank Tanana. Heath had 36 homers and 121 RBI's for Pittsburgh this year, but many consider that a great haul for the Bucs.

The Bermuda Seawolves have extended newly acquired infielder Henry Easterday for 5 years at 68 million today. Easterday was recently brought in from the Myrtle Beach Rage and is a lifetime .221 hitter so this extension is a bit bizarre.

Kid Elberfeld hits for the cycle today as the Nassau Stingrays lit up the Taipei Herons 15-1 on the road at Tik Tok Stadium. Elberfeld drove in 4 runs and scored 3 while Steve Yerkes collected 5 hits and Ed Jurak drove in 5 runs.

The Amsterdam Smokies acquired via trade slugger Francisco Cabrera from the Baton Rouge Warbirds today in exchange for CF Jeremy Schaeffer and SS Josh Zanetti. Cabrera had 29 homers this season for Baton Rouge.

SP Miguel Gonzalez is lost for 2029 to the Albany Warcats with a torn labrum. He was 9-4 this year and having a solid season at 34.

SP Alex Fernandez has been dealt to the Dayton Mud Hens today by the Salinas Fire Ants for LF Denny Walling and SS Nate Appleby. Fernandez was a wretched 2-15 for the low producing Salinas team.

The AL Pacific contending Spokane Gangsters added RP John Burrows today in a trade with the Monte Carlo Blazers. Going to Monte Carlo will be LP Denny Neagle, 3B Doug Moser and C Pete Koi. Burrows was 2-2 for Monte Carlo and had 23 saves in 2027 for them.

RF Johnny Lush is heading to the West Palm Beach Dinos today in a deal with the Bakersfield Red Aces with Bakersfield landing CF Cesar Escalante and 3B Dario Camarena. Lush had 14 homers and 56 RBI's playing for Bakersfield this year.

The AL East contending Rochester Surge acquired 2025 World Series hero George Jackson today in a trade with the Saginaw Dragons. Saginaw gets back LF Joe Ellis. Jackson is 37 years old but still had 21 homers and 68 RBI's for the weak Saginaw team.

Reliever Scott Elbert is heading to the Van Nuys Arrows in a trade with the Key West Condors. Key West will receive LF Shano Collins. Van Nuys will also get LP Nick Way and SS Mike Gable. This is a bigger trade. Elbert was 2-1 with a 3.96 ERA for Key West but Van Nuys gives up a lot in Collins who had 103 RBI's this year already.

The AL World leading Tel Aviv Thunderbolts bolstered their pen today landing Brent Gaff in a trade with the Tacoma Battle Wings. Tacoma acquires back SS Brian Malone. Gaff had 12 saves and a 2.30 ERA for Tacoma so he should help Tel Aviv as they try to repeat as division champions.

Veteran 1B Gregg Colbrunn is heading to the Aruba Jackrabbits in a trade today with the Barbados Arsenal. These islands are close to each other as Barbados will get RP Alan Bateman and LP Jon Varvel. Colbrunn had 20 homers and 63 RBI's for Barbados.

RP Jonathan Sanchez was dealt to the Houston Astros today by the Brentwood 13's. Brentwood gets back Fred Lewis in this trade. Brentwood also sent over SS Nick Roman and 1B Josh Palmer. Sanchez had 25 saves this year for Brentwood, helps Astros who are very buried. Lewis had been buried in the Astros system so he gets his opportunity in Brentwood.

The Fargo Horsemen have lost 1B Bill Terry for 8 weeks with a fractured thumb. Terry already had 32 homers and 103 RBI's this year for Fargo.

RP Jim Brillheart was traded to the Rochester Surge as they try to catch the New York Yankees in the AL East. The trade was with the Fire Island Rogues who get back C Jarrod Saltalamacchia who comes back to Long Island where his family roots are. Brillheart struggled this year at 1-4 in the Fire Island bullpen.

The Little Rock Sunbirds have made a trade for C Jack Lapp from the Colorado Rockies with Colorado getting RP Todd Worrell and Basketball Legend Julius "Dr J" Erving. Lapp had 6 homers and 32 RBI's for Colorado in a backup role so he should see more at bats in Little Rock.

Closer Alex Malloy is heading to the Jones Beach Jets today in a trade with the Detroit Tigers. Tigers will return back 2B Lou Klein. Mallow has been an elite reliever in the league and was 9-3 with 20 saves for Tigers in 2029.

The Dublin Outlaws have traded for RP John Stephens from the Fairbanks Triplets. Fairbanks will get RP Luis Sanchez and LP Seth Morehead. Stephens was 0-9 this year in Fairbanks so can't see how he helps.

Veteran SS Milt Bolling has been traded to the Cheyenne Black Aces by the Taipei Herons. Taipei gets back C Matt Bell and LP Scott Day. Bolling had 7 homers and 25 RBI"s playing in Taiwan.

Zany LF Joe Charboneau is heading to the Edmonton Bluebirds today via the Corpus Christi Blue Hens with Corpus Christi acquiring back LP Todd Wiener and SS Ralph Ham. Charboneau had 23 homers for Corpus Christi.

The London Cyclones made a move to get catcher Carlos Ruiz from the Billings Beacons with LF Xavier Nady heading back to Billings. Ruiz was hitting .177 as a backup in Billings so not sure what London was thinking.

RP Fred Olmstead was sent to the Paris Swingers today by the Tallahassee Heat with Tallahassee getting LP John Fleming. Olmstead was 0-5 with a 7.82 ERA for Tallahassee not exactly exciting.

C Barry Foote will now call Afghanistan home as he was sent to the Kabul Biplanes by the Sarasota Typhoon for RP Alejandro Sanabia. Wimpy metal singer Vince Neil is also heading to Kabul. Foot was buried in Sarasota so he isn't as mad as he should be going to Kabul, but Neil was already asking about strip clubs that don't exist.

The Billings Beacons landed veteran infielder Julio Franco from the Green Bay Yellow Jackets with Green Bay getting back C Vance Spinks and RP Eric Roll. Franco had 15 homers and 59 RBI's for Green Bay.

Closer Bobo Newsom is going to the AL Pacific contending Oakland Athletics from the Wall Street Black Cats today with for CF Hunter Pence. Newsom had 21 saves and a 1.71 ERA for Wall Street but Wall Street does get back a solid prospect in Pence.

Veteran SS Kip Selbach is going to the Morgantown Cottonmouths in a trade with the Texas Rangers. Rangers will get RP Cory Schaffer and RF Robert Mance. Selbach had 9 homers and 42 RBI's in 2029 for Texas.

The NL Central contending Mobile Swordfish added depth today by getting Bill Monboquette from the Dayton Mud Hens. Dayton gets back 2B David McNutt and RF Tom Daley. Monboquette was 1-2 with a 3.55 ERA for Dayton this year.

Catcher Jesse Gonder is going to the St John Cavalry with RP Tom Sommerville and 3B Eric Youngquist going to the Sarasota Typhoon. Gonder has not been able to see the majors in Sarasota so he welcomes the move to the Maritimes.

The Atlanta Braves still have the upperhand on the New York Mets as Braves ace Bobby Mitchell fires a no hitter on the road at CitiField. Mitchell fanned 13 batters and improved to 15-3 with a 1.82 ERA. Eddie Miller hit a 3 run homer and newly acquired Will Clark hit his first homer as a Brave to help Mitchell.

It was the 2nd career no hitter for Mitchell as he tossed one in 2025 for the Braves against the Van Nuys Arrows. For the Braves it was now there third no-hitter as Frank Smith also pitched one in 2021 against the Hartford Rocketmen. The Mets were no hit for the first time.

2029 - Report #41

Star pitcher Bobby Mathews of the Auckland Seadogs struck out 19 batters today as Auckland triumphed over the Monte Carlo Blazers 6-0. Matthews pitched 8 2/3 innings and allowed just 1 hit and walked 3 to improve to 14-3 on the season. Ozzie Veliz was the offensive star with 3 hits for Auckland. King Kong Keller had the one hit off of Mathews before Mike Strahler entered the game to close it out.

The Norfolk Zips defeated the St Cloud Muskies 4-1 on the road at Fingerhut Stadium as Luis Valbuena slammed his 300th career homer. Valbuena hit his 28th homer of the season off of St Cloud reliever Bobby Fuentes in the 8th inning. Valbuena hit his career best 46 for the Honolulu Riptide in 2028 who he played for between 2021 and 2028.

It was a nasty beanball incident today in a game where the Cheyenne Black Aces defeated the Myrtle Beach Rage 8-1 on the road Beach Music Park as Wild Thing Ricky Vaughn threw a fastball at Myrtle Beach slugger Jay Buhner's head. Bret Boone homered off Vaughn the batter before and may have been celebrating too much and the former convict Vaughn took matters into his own hand as he got the rare start in a bullpen game. Cheyenne went on to win the game 8-1 as Brandon Phillips hit 2 homers and drove in 3 runs.

The Eugene Swashbucklers announced that veteran infielder Sean Rodriguez will retire at year end at 37 years old. Rodriguez was hitting just .173 this year and knew it was time to hang them up. His best year was 2021 with the Riverhead Racers when he hit 21 homers.

Reliever George Bausewine of the Rome Thoroughbreds is done for 2029 with bone chips in his elbow. He suffered the injury in a 3-2 walk off win over the Key West Condors. Bausewine was 3-5 with a 3.11 ERA with a heavy work load in Italy.

The Chicago White Sox reported that RP Jerry DiPoto is done for 2029 with a torn rotator Cuff. DiPoto was struggling with a 9.00 ERA so not sure if this really means much for the Chisox as they chase the Indianapolis Bulldogs in the AL Central.

RP Jeff Innis of the Altoona Jammers is done for the season with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 3-5 out of the Altoona pen this year.

The Des Moines Jaguars lost oft used RP Frank Williams for the year with shoulder inflammation. Williams was 5-3 with 2 saves in 2029.

2029 - No Hitter #14

The Los Angeles Dodgers got another no hitter today as they beat the Saginaw Dragons 9-0 at home with the crafty pitching of Joel Davis. Davis fanned 6 and walked none as Omar Infante's error cost him the perfect game. Davis is 14-4 with a 2.42 ERA. Don Lock had 2 hits and 5 RBI's and Infante actually scored 3 runs for the Dodgers.

It was the 4th no hitter for the Dodgers in their history with Rube Kisinger getting one in 2028 against the Scranton Owls. Nap Rucker and Pete Conway also fired no hitters in the past for Los Angeles. It was the 2nd time that Saginaw has been no hit, oddly they were no hit by Pete Conway in 2028 while pitching for the Scranton Owls in the odd twists of things.
