It appears as though the defending champion Canadiens only got stronger, as they finished with the best record in the league.

The Sharks had another solid regular season, going 97-65 and finishing 2nd in the West. They will face Chicago in the first round.

Judging by the Leafs' history, and the way that they've been playing for the past 12 years, they might not win a cup until 2967.

The St. Louis Blues won the Cup in 1966 to end a 60-year title drought. After missing the playoffs last year, they are back in the Finals in 1968. Can they do it again? They are after their 3rd Stanley Cup this time.

The New York Rangers, winners of 3 Stanley Cups (1910, 1948, 1949) are back in the Finals after a 14-year absence. Getting through the East wasn't too much of a struggle, as they lost only three times along the way.
