Eye Of The Tiger: Delgado Tigers News

19-8 in August. 19 wins ties our high for a month. We have a 7 game lead over Willowbrook.

We didn't lose a single series in August. At times we were unstobbable. I can't complain about much. We also now have a winning record on the road.

For September, we only play 8 games on the road. The month starts out tough with 2 AL Central contenders in Springfield & Anderson, then we see the 2032 BOE champ Guns N' Roses. 4 @ Batmen then 3 at home vs the Warriors. If we maintain our 7 game lead going into that series we can put them in the rearview once and for all. 4 vs Sharks. 3 @ Stryper. 3 vs potential AL West winners in Bird City. 3 vs Parrots, get to see Perch & Rush. We end the month vs Gotham City.
Hopefully 18-10 worse case.

Our only issue right now is our bullpen, stat wise.

We are a finesse rotation, which is fine when our IF defense is going great.

Eye Of The Tiger: Delgado Tigers News

Earl Brown joins the pen. He was struggling at Bespin but he's being paid a ton and I wanted an extra arm for now til Bespin wins the AAA championship.

Todd Scott is back and Charles Neeley is staying. Our roster is at 27 for now. Todd starts vs RHP and platoons with Joe & Jason vs LHP. Neeley will play from time to time as the DH.

After Bespin's season is over here are just some of the players i will call up:
C Rebecca Hoffman
1b Ming Li
Cf Gerald Russell
SS Rum Tum Tugger
2b Kool Kat
SP Bill Stupec
SP Neil Diamond
CL Rooster Evans
I have 5 open spots on the 40, so there will be a few more.

Player Spotlight
2b Charles Neeley R/R #13
Charles 1st came up with Ford while Admiral Fox was managing them. He is married to Samantha Neeley and has played with her in Ford and in the Delgado minor leagues. Admiral Fox wants both to take over as MGR & HC in the Delgado minor league system eventually. He is arbitration eligible but will not be offered ARB making him a FA.

RP Earl Brown R/R #45
Earl was projected to be a solid SU man with the Tigers this season but was part of the early season bullpen issues. He has CL potential and hopefully this is just a hiccup in a solid career. His future for next season with the Tigers is up to him.

Offensively many players had a great month of August.
Anna, Tigger, Joe, George, Mighty Joe, Kool, Hal, Scott, Todd, Jason & Bobby. Only players that struggled were Brett & Juan.

Pitching side: Fairweather, Robert, Robby & Jose struggled. Wrigley was great as was Buffalo.

Juan did not have a great month on D, committing 5 E. Anna committed 6. I have a plan for her for next year, but it depends on if I can get the #1 SP I want.

Most of the Bespin roster will be at Delgado next year, even if only for part of the season. That will move many stars from New Chicago to Bespin as the next wave to possibly play for Delgado. We have a great minor league system offensively. Pitching side, namely rotation, is weak after Stupec and possibly Diamond. All 3 minor league teams will be getting a logo and jersey overhaul.

Bespin will start their playoff run on Tuesday, so most likely the earliest anyone will join Delgado will be Saturday of next week, but hopefully closer to the 15th. EBL season ends October 11th.

Next Series: Anderson Ravens

3 games vs Ravens
We are 2-1 vs Anderson this season.

The Ravens have rebounded nicely after an injury plagued 2032 season and currently leads Springfield by 1 game in the AL Central. Along with great veterans like Mickey Orendor, Gil Velandia, Vern Foster, Tommy Falcone, Bagnall, James Minor & Orlando Velez they have some great young players in Jimmy Piersall, John Clymore, Sam Malone, Calvin Mccabe & Han Tak.

They have good power and are among the best offensive teams in the AL. Their rotation is beatable bu their pen is nearly lights out.

1-3 so far in September.
We were swept by Anderson. The bats have cooled off. The pitching hasn't been bad.

2 game set vs Paradise City then 4 @ Gotham City to close out the week.

Young, Cottoneye, O'Neill, San Antonio, Kournikova, Milton 7 Bremer all hit well this week but not when it mattered. Some of these stats are padded because of how well we played vs Springfield.

Bespin will play the Beverly Bay BayHawks (Highland Scots) in the ILDS.

New Chicago & Ackbar seasons end next week.

Next Series: Paradise City Guns n' Roses

2 games vs Guns N' Roses
We are 2-0 vs Paradise City this season.

If you take out their bad start in April & May, GnR is 9 games over .500 since June. They have a talented team but that bad start along with how well Cooperstown has played buried them early. Martin Day has been great for them, both as a SP and a DH. Their starters have the 2nd best ERA in the NL but their pen is 8th. They are middle of the pack in some offensive stats and lower half in others. They need a small re-tweak for next season and they could contend again.
