One other variable is the devs have been using the diamond pack specials to combat diamond card scarcity around the same time new batches of missions come out. This helps prevent the market from getting too overheated for one or two cards. It'll still probably take some time for the market to reach a balance point.

Excited to see a couple of 97 Bob Gibson listings at 130/135 and 100/200 hopefully fail to sell. I'll be crushed if someone jumps in at those price points. Hopefully the market makes 'em go lower with the prices.

EDIT: Both auctions did indeed fail to sell. Immediate re-listing for 100/175 on one and the other went back up at 125/135. Still not going low enough; have to give it some time.

I'm looking for a historical Diamond since June, I've never even seen it once on the AH. I'm not going to say which one because I fear the price for that card might blow up instantly.

I've given up all hope on Hank Aaron/Dusty Baker. I've only ever seen one and it was a Dusty that sold for 130k PP last week. Even if one ever shows on the AH again I'm not paying that.

I like Collections, but something isn't quite working right when users are able and willing to dump a lot of PP down for a certain mission, but there's just never any supply of bottleneck cards in the Auction House. Lack of supply kills markets.

I guess I could buy 5 Diamond Packs with my saved PP. Aaron/Baker represent 2 out of roughly 400 non-LIVE Diamonds in the game. So that's a 0.5% weight. On top of the mere 30% pull-rate for non-LIVEs. I forget how to do probability calculations, but it looks like a slim-to-none chance to me. More likely I'll be looking at Trevor Story.

I could be wrong, but I doubt he holds any. The flipper needs to stay liquid, so I'd expect them to be listed at high prices if he holds them. I just never see any of these and other bottleneck cards on the market, so I believe the problem is lack of supply rather than flippers. I suspect most of the Aaron/Baker cards out there are locked, and people like me and Chico are just waiting for somebody to get lucky in their pack openings, and not need the card themself.

Collections for next year need to look more like FIFA squad building challenges where there is more than one way to complete them. Some cards will be more useful than others but the fact that nothing is ever mandatory keeps prices in check. I said it earlier, but speculation is completely risk free since you know every card will eventually be needed.

If nothing changes then why would anyone ever sell a historical card before it's collection is out? We all know it will eventually shoot up in price. You can almost never find diamonds for the yet to be released franchises under 15K now.

That's changed just recently, because the odds are the franchises you're guessing on will be picked next. I had been picking up some of the bad Yankee diamonds for pretty cheap a few weeks ago for example.
