We shouldn't forget how great an outfielder Judge is in the bargain. Here he is, robbing a young fan of a souvenir yesterday.
As far as the rest of his story, I've been holding off until now — it really is still too soon, end of July — but I am getting a feeling that we are witnessing something historic this year. And, fingers crossed, not a whiff of scandal. It seems to be real.

Heh, yesterday morning, this headline read ". . . From 1 to 41." It's still a top story on the website but they had to update it this morning.

Any Yankee fans interested in a All Yankees Players Baseball League similar to my All Athletics Players Baseball League & my Sox Baseball League? 12-16 Yankee themed teams + rivals NYY players a-z. 620 players for Year 1, approximately.

Like, they weren't even paying attention in some areas. Such as not bothering to change the white font from the Dark Skin, which they apparently prefer, when used against a light background in the Classic Skin. Version 23 was the final straw. 21 is the epitome and finale of OOTPB for me.

Harrison Bader from the Cards to the Yankees. Cards get Montgomery, the pitcher.
On the surface, as a huge Cardinals fan, I like the trade. Montgomery is a horse, with a 3.8:1 K:BB ratio. Yankees get a brilliant fielder, but not much of a hitter in return. Dylan Carlson is an excellent fielder, and the Cards have Juan Yepez in left, and Burleson hitting .340 in AAA. |

I thought the Yankees were set in the outfield when they acquired Benintendi. Now they trade Montgomery, who is indeed a decent pitcher, for Bader? He is a GG outfielder, but when is he going to play enough to show off his glove? ![]() And what in God's name are they going to do with Gallo? ![]()

Wait no Gallo's gone?
![]() Kidding. I mean I pretty much knew he was gone. I don't see why they hung on to him so long to get the trade they did. I am not sure what the Montgomery trade was about as I heard his name and thought he would have been involed in a bigger trade. I am not sure if he would have been a playoff starter though so maybe there is a game plan here. One real criticism I have the Yankees organization is that I feel they can do a better job using their minor league to supplement the major league roster by trying out players in positions of need. What are they doing with Florial and Andujar for instance. They they to give some of them player time to also increase their value for trade chips. |

As usual, I get my breaking sports news right here! Well, I feel sorry for the guy, but there was no use in letting him continue to dangle in the wind. As one article said, maybe a change of scenery will allow him to rediscover his swing. Or learn how to hit in the first place.

I have a feeling that they already have made up their minds about those two, particularly Andujar, and they don't have a future in pinstripes.

Oh I am sure they made up[ their mind, but the issue is that it then hurts their value. Andujar could be good a trade chip, but not a lot of numbers to go off of.

Then I wonder where Bader is. Then I read "Bader won't be able to take the field in pinstripes just yet, though. The ex-Cardinal is on the injured list at the moment with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Cashman assured that New York did a "deep dive" in Bader's medicals, explaining that there is "optimism" the outfielder will be ready to return in September." Cashman has been doing quite well recently, I must say, but if I am Steinbrenner, I am asking what in the heck he was thinking about this deal.

I'm obviously not a world-class athlete, but I can tell you from experience that PF healing is (1) not linear and (2) pretty unpredictable. If it's bad enough to be on the shelf in the first place that seems like a pretty optimistic statement. I just hope they don't lose a starter and regret giving up Montgomery.

The Yankees snapped a five-game losing streak last night. Unfortunately, so did a bone in Matt Carpenter's foot when he fouled a ball off of it. Now he joins Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Rizzo on the injury list (though Rizzo is just DTD right now with back issues). This is why you can't get too excited in June or July over what projects to be an "historic team."

You do have a bigger lead though.
Like I'm 6' and would barely each up to Aaron Judge's arm pit.
