The Reds are off to a pretty good start and statistically are a better team so far in 2026 then 2025..... but so far everyone else in the NL Central is better and despite a 15-11 start, we are 4th in the division and 6 games behind the leader.

A good start for 4 out of the 5 starters, but my biggest concern will be the injury status of SP Larry Baker who got hurt in the final game of April. Kevin Walsh is the likely replacement or a call up from AAA.

Wagsis has the rotation looking like this for May...
1) Larry Baker -depending on injury
2) Bart Whinnett - last 3 starts have been better.

With the Reds starters struggling, Wagsis sent MR Gabriel Miranda to start, he allowed 1 ER on 3 hits with 3 strikeouts over 2.2 innings. CL Jorge Martinez got his 2nd blown save when he allowed 2 ERs on 3 hits in just 0.2 innings. Larry Scott (2-0) got the final out of the game for the win.

The Reds had brutal month, 8-20 and maybe the worst I can remember as the GM of this team. I realize there is over 100 games left, but must make some significant changes to the pitching staff.

Logan Furzer AA 22 0-0 0.00 1 3 1.00 8 months

Well how 30 days changes the geography of the Staff. With Baker out and he has averaged 20 wins a season the last 3 years, we needed Whinnett and Perez to pick up the slack. Unfortunately it did not happen so both those guys are going to AAA and we will bring up Herrscher and Hernandez. We were able to get SP Fernao Curros in a trade for McCoy.

Wagsis rotation looks like this:

1) Fernao Curros
2) Alejandro Santiago
3) Octavio Salazar
4) Greg Brooks
5) Kevin Walsh

Although the ERA looks good at 2.59, Larry Scott's 1.64 Whip and .375 BABIP don't. Opposition hitters are hitting .310 against him and he needs to go to AAA. We will recall Tony Roman from AAA. It appears that Wagsis has lost confidence in Jorge Martinez.

Wagsis bullpen looks like this:

We were able to move McCoy to the Royals for SP Fernao Curros.

This is what Wagsis line-ups will look like after all the moves:

The Reds were off today

June 12th, 2026

Philadelphia 9 Cincinnati 0
The Phillies opened a early 5-0 lead after the 3rd and never looked back. SP Greg Brooks (0-2) struggled again in the loss, he lasted only 2.1 innings allowing 5 ERs on 5 hits. The Reds bats again were silent as has been the custom as of late, we were out hit 13 to 3 today.

June 13th, 2026

Cincinnati 10 Philadelphia 6
The Reds determined they were going to make up for previous hitting struggles with a 7-run, 6 hit 1st bottom of the 1st where they 11 batters to the plate including 3B Jose Quinones Triple and Single. C Jesus Lopez goes 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs including his 14th HR of the year. The previously mentioned Quinones goes 3 for 4 while LF Billy Anderson has a 2 for 5 day with 3 RBIs including his 17th HR as well. The Reds needed the offense as SP Kevin Walsh allowed 5 ERs on 8 hits over just 4.2 innings, but it was MR Eduardo Sanchez (3-0) with the win for his work in the 5th.
