How strange that in this of all weeks, Iran and Syria played each other in an Asian Cup qualifier today. It finished 1-1 for those interested.

Hate this. It denies poor fans the right to see their team just so some greedy moron can make 200k a week.

I didn't say they would, I just said they must have thought about it if I had.
However I wish I hadn't said anything, as it wasn't appropriate for this thread. Sorry for any offence caused.

FIXED

Its strange that things people would think are 'weird' would actually be seen as normal if people were honest.

Man these dreams have all the intensity and emotion of reality. I wonder what would happen if your brain had allowed you to actually crash into that last wall. Probably rubbish but what if this is what we dream when we die in our sleep?

To be fair it should be noted these PPV games when they were introduced were providing additional coverage. It wasn't a case of having something for free and seeing it go PPV, it was an option to see additional live action.

Was it possible for the fans in the two cities to watch it on free TV?

We've never had regionalised coverage. The whole country gets exactly the same. The vast majority of EPL clubs only got 4-5 live EPL games a season. The PPV option was a significant improvement for the less attractive clubs.

We did have regionalised highlights years ago forgot what the programme was called in the north west but imo one if not the greatest football commentators Gerald Sinstadt (spell?) use to do.

Are all the local games on tape delay, at least? And are there any plans to let fans in each market get to see more of their matches live?

Kick Off think it was called used to be on Sunday afternoon at around 2pm long before the Premiership came about.

I think Sky Sports puts them on one after the other on a Saturday night but if your teams last in line to be showed your up the Amazon without a paddle.

Yup, we've always had highlights packages, but never live or as live matches. For years it was a case of going to the ground or hoping your team was featured on Match of the Day on Saturday night, or The Big Match on Sunday morning/lunchtime.

Before the EPL breakaway live league football topped at around 22 matches a season, and that was only for the last decade or so.

For how long the season is, this seems crazy to me.

Used to love watching the Kick Off programmes and Match of the Day FA Cup ones, used to always see if I was on TV if they showed Wigan games, first time I was on was Wigan v Bury but that much football on tv it's not a big thing nowadays to be shown on TV
