2029 - Report #12

The Auckland Seadogs defeated the Moline Oilers 6-1 on the road at the Quad City Dome as Tony Perez hit his milestone 400th career homer. Perez hit a solo homer off of Moline starter Curt Simmons in the 6th inning which was his 10th homer of the year. Perez hit 49 homers in 2019 for the Arizona Diamdonbacks and 49 again in 2023 for the Baltimore Orioles.

Tank Turner was just a guy that was hired to make boyfriends look good by comparison but today the venom was channeled into a 5 hit game for the Montreal Anchors as they crushed the Tallahassee Heat 18-8 on the road at Seminole Stadium. Turner hit 2 homers and drove in 5 runs to give him 9 homers on the season. Gene Oliver added 4 hits in the Montreal win.

The Minnesota Twins decided to give a lofty contract extension to their start second baseman, Sammy Meeks. Meeks was extended 3 years for 44 million. Meeks is coming off a season with 46 homers and 131 RBI's and was stolen in 2022 from the Chicago Cubs for Jim Marshall and Patsy Gharrity.

John Doran of the Winnipeg Wolf Pack is done for 2029 with radial nerve compression. Doran was 3-1 this season for Winnipeg with a 2.43 ERA and has been a solid #2 starter with 39 wins from 2026-2028. The injury occurred in a 6-3 road win over the Copenhagen Oaks at Wozniacki park.

The Yukon Drillers report that mop up reliever Rick Austin is done for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Austin was 1-1 for Yukon but eats a lot of innings out the pen. Injury happened in a 10-1 blowout home loss to the Santo Domingo Oceanics.

Keyvius Sampson of the Topeka Sand Gnats had his season end with a torn labrum. Sampson was doing well this year at 2-3 with a 3.41 ERA as he was shaping into the Topeka ace role.

2029 - No-Hitter #4

The 4th no hitter of the young season was been pitched by Dutch McCall of the Spokane Gangsters. Spokane defeated the Rochester Surge 1-0 at home today as McCall fanned 14 batters and walked just one batter in the game which was Rochester first baseman Daryle Ward. McCall improved to 4-2 this year and got the offense with an RBI single by Jay Bell in the 4th inning.

This was the 2nd no hitter in Spokane history as Dean Chance was able to no hit the Grand Junction Gold Rush in 2027. This is the first time Rochester has ever been no-hit.

2029 - No Hitter #8

John Lackey is the latest to add his name to the no hit list as the Des Moines Jaguars held the Galveston Whitehawks in check on 9-0 on the road at Glen Campbell park. Lackey was able to get the job done in his home state of Texas as he fanned 14 and only walked one batter (Rodolfo Rivera) to avoid perfection.
