Even if Detroit comes back to win this game, they will not win the WS. Their bullpen sucks so bad.

I personally would've left Verlander in longer and Sanchez in longer, but I won't really hold that against Ausmus. The fault of this loss rest squarely on the shoulders of The Hutt and The New Guys Who's Supposed To Be Good. Should they have not been in the game? You use what you have and hope. They blew it big time.

I sort of do hold it against Ausmus. He has been watching this all season like the rest of the world has. If ever there were a time and a place to err on the side of having a slow hook, it's with this horrific bull pen during the post season. Why in the world would anyone take the ball from effective, recent Cy Young starters that haven't yet given all they have and hand off to a group of screw ups that bring disaster more often than not?

Yet he operated with a quick hook twice in a row and today in what had to be considered an absolute must win game. Verlander was pitching strong, didn't want to come out and had only given up a single that should have been an out were it not for Dombrowksi trading a great center fielder for the one thing Detroit had plenty of - good starting pitching.

Bad decisions, three of them in my book. Hooking Scherzer, Verlander and Sanchez entirely too early.

I say when he's near 130 or 140 pitches.

Well, at least they showed a little spark at the end. I have to remember what it felt like being a fan in the seventies and nineties; I'd have given anything to have a four year run like this back then.

Get a bullpen and get rid of the loyalty rewards program that guides the manager.

I guess that I'll root for KC now.
