Hello, this is Jersey Jim coming to you live from Madison Square Garden in New York. It's a rainy, dreary, dismal night outside. But inside, it smells like mold and cigarette smoke. I love the atmosphere here.
My station 30 year old station wagon with the wood paneling on the side broke down, so I had to ride the train in from Jersey. I think Judah's got too much speed for Vivian Harris, but you never know? Harris is a solid fighter with good power. And here comes Harris now. Emanuel Steward guided him to his victory over Kostya Tsyzu... let's see what type of battle plan he has tonight for Zab Judah. And there goes the crowd... they're giving Harris "the bird" as he climbs through the ropes. Not too much class if you ask me. Back in Jersey, we throw cups of warm beer. These bums probably can't afford that over here. The food's not too bad in the Garden if you've never been here. The hot dogs are cold these days. Sort of taste like rolled up pieces of bologna. But you know, they can't afford to heat the water for too long with the Depression going on and all... Oh wait, I hear the music and that can only mean one thing! Here comes the self proclaimed King of the Punk lifestyle... the Prince of Pugilism... the Author of Arrogance... Zab SUPER... Juuuuuuuuuu-dah!

The fighters are receiving their last minute instructions from the third man in the ring tonight - Kenny Bayless.
Joel Judah is flipping the bird to Manny Steward now and having a war of words right now in ring center as Bayless is trying to talk. They should throw him out of the place and make Zab Judah work his own corner. And now they're going back to their corners. Tonight's fight is for the unofficial "People's Championship" - the title created by Billionaire investor and boxing fan Evrett Rothschild. Tony Galento will be facing the Heavyweight "People's Champion" - Franco Cavicchi next month. Should be great! We'll be back with the opening round!

Zab Judah vs. Vivian Harris
Round 1 Judah and Harris meet in ring center. Big hook from Judah catches Harris flush!! Harris staggers! Judah with a combination to the head. Judah with two hard hooks to the body! Harris is back against the ropes! Harris fires a hook that lands. They tie up and here comes Kenny Bayless to separate them. Harris and Judah exchange right hands. Both fighters are circling now, probing and looking for openings. There's the bell. Judah just shoved Harris in the back of the head as he was headed back towards his corner! Emanuel Steward is in the ring screaming at Bayless to take a point away from Judah! Bayless is warning Judah and now Judah's yelling at Steward. It's all hitting the fan here at the Garden. We'll back back with the second round... .

There's so much smoke here at Ringside, it's like a ring of smog. I wished I smoked, I just can't develop a taste for tobacco. I'm no quitter, though. I'm going to keep at it.
Round 2 Judah's out fast for the second an fires a rapid fire combination into Harris. Harris takes the shots on his arms and returns fire with a beautiful left hook into Judah's midsection. C'mon Harris! Oh, Judah cracks Harris with a hard left to the head! Judah explodes a right cross off Harris' temple! Harris just did the "Stumble Drunk Shuffle" after absorbing that bomb! Judah goes hard to the body. Harris is still upright. That's a good sign. I think. Harris nails Judah with a big right cross right down the center! C'mon Harris! Blast that $#@! Judah scores with two rights to the head. Oh no. Harris is starting to swell around the left eye. Judah lands another combination to the body. Those shots seemed to bother Harris. There's the bell.

I used to smoke menthol's with this woman I used to know. Cool, refreshing... we used to walk down the beach together and talk about life. I found myself thinking - this is the ONE!
So I take her with me down to AC for a night of poker. I'm doin' good, too. Then, I get a few bad hands. You know, it happens. So I have to get it back. You know what I'm saying. You'd do the same thing. So, she being red hot in the looks department, I put her up as collateral. Look... I never thought I was going to lose that final hand. It's not my fault when you get right down to it. I mean, she coulda run, right? Ever since then, I lost my taste for menthol's.

Round 3
Judah bangs away at Harris with both hands. Judah has the definite edge in speed. We're here in the third. Grab a beer or cheap hot dog if you've just arrived. It's "The People's Championship" on the line here tonight and Zab Judah scores with a three punch combination to the body and takes two rights in return from Vivian Harris. Harris scores with a right hand. Judah answers with a combination. They tie up and here comes Kenny Bayless. Judah rocks Harris with a big right hand! Harris rocks Judah with a right of his own! The crowd's on its feet!! They're exchanging punches in the corner! There's the bell! Judah had the advantage during that final exchange. That was probably enough to take this round. .

Round 4
Harris catches Judah with a hard uppercut as Zab was cranking up a hook! Nice beginning to the fourth for Vivian Harris. His left eye isn't looking too good. Harris lands a straight left. Judah scores with a jab. Judah bounces a hard combination off Harris' swollen left eye. Harris looks hurt after that last combination! Harris buries a big left hook into Judah's side! He felt that one! Judah hooks to the head. Another hard combination scores for Judah! And there's the bell...

Round 5
Harris' eye isn't looking too good. It looks like another head is starting to grow out of the side of his eye. Judah nails Vivian Harris with a hard combination to the body. A hard left to the body scores for Judah. Harris is getting battered like a small boat in a storm out there. It doesn't look too good for him right now. Judah BOMBS Harris with a right to the head. Harris almost goes down!! He ties Judah up and here comes Bayless. Bayless separates them and is taking a long look at Vivian Harris! He's going to let this one go on! Judah with a booming hook! Judah with a hard left to the body! Judah's unloading everything!! It's bombs away and Harris is sagging against the ropes!! He's not answering back! Judah's raining down leather on a helpless Vivian Harris who looks ready to collapse in a heap! The bell saves Harris! Oh, what a beating he was taking! Manny Steward is out there guiding Harris back to the corner. Judah's pounding his chest like he's Superman and playing to the crowd. We'll be back with more... Don't go away!

Round 6
Harris misses with a lunging left and takes a counter hook from Judah. Harris' eye is just about completely closed, now. Judah lands a hard right hand! That punch buckled Harris' knees! Harris relates with a wild right that misses by a mile. Judah's up on his toes waving Harris in. Judah fires a left-right combination. Harris finally blocks something with his gloves. Judah with a right to the body. Harris fires a left hook but Judah had already moved out of range. Vicious Vivian, as he's called, is taking a vicious pounding tonight. Judah pot-shots Harris as he's circling him from the outside. Another big right hand lands for Judah! That punch staggers Harris again! They'd better stop this one before Harris takes too much more of a pounding out there! A huge uppercut from Judah gives Harris a quick look at the rafters! And there's the bell!

Round 7
More of the same. Judah's moving quite a bit, poking that jab in onto Harris' damaged eye. Harris can't see about half of the punches that are coming now. I can't believe how thoroughly Judah's dominating Harris who fought such a tough fight against Kostya Tszyu. Not much to report on. Harris's head has become a speed bag and his body a heavy bag for the King of Sting, Zab.... Suuuuu -per.... Jeeeeew...duh.

Round 8
Judah's dances out of his corner and hangs his chin out there for Harris to take a shot at! Harris throws a right that misses. Judah punishes Harris with a combination. Bayless is stopping the fight and taking Harris over to the ringside physician, Dr. Max Payne, to be examined. Harris is telling him he can't see anything out of the right eye. Payne's telling the referee, Kenny Bayless, that's Harris is fine and may continue. Judah scores with a combination. Judah with another combination. Judah with two hard rights to the head. Another combination to the body. They tie up. And there's the bell.

Round 9
Judah hurts Harris with a left to the body and then backs off. I think I understand what's going on, now. Judah is making Vivian Harris pay for ruining his rematch and chance for revenge against Kostya Tsyzu. He's fighting two men tonight... Vivian Harris and Kostya Tsyzu. And he's trying to wring every ounce of revenge he can out of tonight's contest. Can you imagine if Harris landed a big bomb and turned this fight around. I say that just as another big shot bounces off the side of Harris' head. Something's gotta give. We'll be back, believe it or not, with the 10th.

The punch-stat numbers really tell the story of tonight's fight. Judah landed an amazing 50% of his punches...

That's it from the Garden. I'm off to Little Italy to get a quick midnight snack before heading back across the river.
It looks like the way has been cleared for the rematch: Zab Judah vs. Floyd Mayweather at Jr. Welterweight. Judah's had an amazing run. We'll see what happens soon! Be on the lookout for the return of Two-Ton Tony Galento as the Jersey Heavy prepares for the biggest fight of his amazing comeback against "The Emporer" Franco Cavicchi! .

I've been rooting for him to kayoed in this universe for some time now. But he just keeps on winning. I think his rematch with Floyd Mayweather will be his final fight.
