Really surprised by the drubbing the Barbarians took. Thank's to that I can go through the first week without being the worst. I expect they'll pick up or Mark will regret holding on to Antuofermo.

Iceteaboxing vs. Hebron Haymakers - round 1

September 5,2006: Governor's Foot Guard Hall, Harford, CT

Iceteaboxing, runner-up in the team championship last season was out to prove their critics wrong. They didn't have lots of fire power last season and they didn't add much in the draft. Iceteaboxing didn't have far to travel for this match. It was almost like a home match for them as they brought around 5000 fans with them. Iceteaboxing sent their fans home happy as they dismantled a newly constructed Haymakers team. The Haymakers never had a chance in this one. Iceteaboxing also had two champions in action tonight. See the results posted below.

Scoreboard:
Iceteaboxing 19-10-3 (5) (DQ-1) = 45
Hebron Haymakers 10-19-3 (5) = 28

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Championship Matches:
HW- (CH)Peter Jackson 20-0-0 (7) W UD15 (#26)Randall Cobb 4-10-1 (2)
(scorecards: 148-136 by all 3 judges)

HW- (CH)Peter Jackson 21-0-0 (7) W Tech UD14 (#NR)Buster Douglas 1-0-0 (1)
(scorecards: 125-122, 126-121, 125-122 at the time of stoppage)

Here's the call from TBCB as the bout ended:
02:46 * That's a nasty looking cut. There doesn't seem to be any doubt that it was caused by the accidental head butt in Round 14. The referee has momentarily stopped the fight. They're going to have the ring side physician take a look at it. Douglas is bleeding badly. The doctor's examining it...he's shaking his head. Douglas is protesting...but that's it! They're going to stop the fight. Points will be tallied as of the last full stanza, because we're having more than 5 rounds in the book! This shortened bout is in the hands of the officials and we'll await their decision.

WW- (CH)Johnny Saxton 15-5-0 (2) W UD15 (#8)Randy Shields 10-2-3 (3)
(scorecards: 144-141 by all 3 judges)

WW- (CH)Johnny Saxton 16-5-0 (2) W UD15 (#7)Marlon Starling 13-3-0 (3)
(scorecards: 149-137 by all 3 judges)

Ugh, that was brutal. I still like my team, but this year will be tough.

I guess all that talk about Hebron being the most improved team in the league and Icetea's lack of KO power must have pissed Iceteaboxing off. While, they still aren't going to score all of KOs if they keep boxing all that they won't need them.

I'm extremely surprised that my Kangaroos even won, let alone by such a huge margin (please don't drug test my boxers, it might get a bit ugly). Still, we won our first round last season and then mangaed to lose for the rest of the season, here's hoping though that our run of form continues. We travel to the states next round, and we haven't won there yet, and to make it worse, we face the mighty Tomato's.

Bit of a surprise to see the Haymakers get beat by 17 points as well.

hey everyone!

I am still trying to update the UTBA site at the moment, but my boss just made a surprise visit today and I don't know when he leaves again, so my time is limited for that. -_-

Anyways, for those wanting to take a look at the bout logs, check this link:
http://www.umk.hostingzero.com/boxsim/results/UTBA/

I have only finished uploading the first team matchup of round 1. I will upload the rest tomorrow since I still have some deadlines with work.

Let me know if there are any problems with the site.

Where to start?

September 4,2006: Vodafone Arena, Melbourne, AustraliaThe Barbarian's visit to Australia was not a pleasent one. The Kangaroos just plain kicked them to death.

This is too ugly for words. Mesi loses twice; Rossman DQ'd against a 3; Kid loses to Holland; Galaxy, Olivares, Aragon and Roman all lose twice! And don't even get me started on Vito "I'm on the trading block" Antuofermo. This guy needs a change of scenery ...

Only bright spots were a pair of wins each for Espana and Dokes. Ouch!

... Mike. Your wife makes that green look good, but I'll stick with SAL and root for the Huskers. Maybe they're actually recovering from the Solich era/firing. (Glad to read in the other string that your son's doing well, too.)

P.S.: You mean I've got to take nine more of these beatings?

I'm glad to see the Huskers join this century in football. I thought Callahan was a good hire and I'm glad to see they stuck with him. I can root for them as long as they aren't playing my Irish.

I don't see Sal's wife posing in a Huskers uniform!!!!! LOL

I'll see what I can do about that. I know there is plenty of Huskers stuff around my house(enough to outfit 4 people for 2 months without doing laundry).
I'm giving Callahan a chance, It's hard though, I'm still used to the ground attack of the Osborne era.

Oakland was the site for the second expansion team to make their debut in the UTBA. Well, from the look of things ya'll seem to have a pretty good shot at winning the Big 12 North. Iowa State needed three OTs to beat Toledo and Colorado well the less said about Colorado the better.

Dang, KC came so close to winning that match. I wonder who will be the first to break though with a win KC or Bear.

you don't need a win, as long as you are in the game in the 4th quarter it's a good showing IMO. That's all I was hoping for with ND last year.

Just don't pull and Arkansas and lose by 275 combined points in 2 years to them LOL
