Michael Young quickly becomes the worst contract in baseball according to this set... I had to cut him with 32 Million still owed
![]() Great job Cubby, really appreciate your hard work. All id ask is that in the next set is that you'd update the Minor Leagues to reflect this years BA Rankings, which it looks like you are going to do. The Rangers werent in the top 5 in overall Minor League rankings in this set, but really have the #1 farm system. Again awesome work. |

Also the Top 100 Prospects is usually kind of a crapshoot in the first place, making the problem a little tougher. |

I have a question about player potential ratings in the set versus what the scouts say. From my understanding scouts / scouting is turned off in the roster set, so everyone is on an equal playing field in terms of player evaluation.
So I have a 4 star pitcher - both in potential and actual ratings. I click on the scouts button in his player profile and they basically pan him, saying he cannot throw through a wet paper bag, etc, etc. What is the reason for the disconnect and which evaluation should I go by for accuracy? |

Ah -- I never play with scouts, but I'm guessing you probably just need to run a (OSA?) rescout at the league setup screen. I'm assuming that scouting report was probably generated before I edited his ratings.

Am I missing Travis Hafner for the Indians? I don't see him on the roster... or maybe I'm just not seeing him?
Edit - Nevermind - I found him in the single A league.... I guess Cubby has it out for my man Pronk

It's odd -- he's not rated horribly, but the computer was doing the same to David Ortiz for a bit -- rated them both as 1 star guys and tried DFA'ing/demoting them to Single-A. Can't figure out for the life of me why.

This may not be the right topic to post this question under, but does anyone here know how to edit the team numbers assigned to each ML team under CubbyFan's roster set? Presently the team numbers are as follows:
31 Arizona 32 Atlanta 33 Baltimore 34 Boston 35 Chicago (A) 36 Chicago (N) 37 Cincinnati 38 Cleveland 39 Colorado 40 Detroit 41 Florida 42 Houston 43 Kansas City 44 Los Angeles (A) 45 Los Angeles (N) 46 Milwaukee 47 Minnesota 48 New York (A) 49 New York (N) 50 Oakland 51 Philadelphia 52 Pittsburgh 53 San Diego 54 Seattle 55 San Francisco 56 St. Louis 57 Tampa Bay 58 Texas 59 Toronto 60 Washington The online leagues that use the export tracker tool need the teams to be numbered like this: 1 Baltimore 2 Boston 3 New York (A) 4 Tampa Bay 5 Washington 6 Chicago (A) 7 Cleveland 8 Detroit 9 Kansas City 10 Minnesota 11 Los Angeles (A) 12 Oakland 13 Seattle 14 Texas 15 Atlanta 16 Florida 17 Montreal 18 New York (N) 19 Philadelphia 20 Chicago (N) 21 Cincinnati 22 Houston 23 San Antonio 24 Pittsburgh 25 St. Louis 26 Arizona 27 Colorado 28 Los Angeles (N) 29 San Diego 30 San Francisco Because of the way the export tool is written to divide the AL and NL into two columns, it looks for teams 1-14 for column 1 and 15-30 for column 2. Under the new roster sets, I cannot use this tool properly. If I could reassign each team to a different number, I could still use the tool. Otherwise, anyone know of an export tracking tool that works under the new filesets? Thanks in advance!

That is a great question as I have also had that issue. I was wondering the same thing?
Thanks again Cubby! |

Just a guess, but I'd say this is due to Hafner being labelled a DH. The game's standards for a DH are high and only focus on hitting. Thus unless you're a stud hitter (e.g. David Ortiz), your overall rating is low. If you switch Hafner to 1B for instance, he goes up to 1 star. Ortiz, as rated in this set, appears to be a rare player, who can make the change without too much of a hit to overall rating. Considering the low overall rating, the AI then tries to DFA/demote them.

Just noticed that Juan Rincon is in the Indians organization in the 3.1 roster set, but he signed a minor league deal with the Tigers with a ST invite on Jan 20th 09.
Thanks for all your hard work and effort, very appreciated

I observed this happening whenever I would change Hafner and Ortiz from 1b to DH in earlier versions of your set, as well as when I would change Pat Burrell to DH so the Rays wouldn't start him over Crawford. The way I got around this was to keep them at their original positions and just use the "force start" setting for them. But once they were downrated, there was no way to get their ratings to come back up.

Fabulous work and a big thank you for your efforts....Not to nick pick but the rotation orders seem off;
Yanks have Joba as #1 starter, etc. Mets Santana's is #4...... Is this a file thing? Also, should we edit ARod's projected stats down as his 'cousin' seems to have disappeared into that massive continent, the Dominican. |

Joba's probably always going to be the #1 because his projected stats are so good and OOTP doesn't really baby players like they do IRL.
Johan is the ace in game though, at least from what I'm looking at now. |
