He threw 65 pitches? That's it? Not a bad performance. Too bad your offense sucked.

To be fair, when has Craig's offense ever /failed/ to suck? (BTW, Craig, I'm insanely glad the dynasty survived the Great Pale Hose Computer Scare of '04.)

Funny you say that -- not the first line, which is slightly funny, but entirely true, but the second -- because I'm out of comission for a bit, again due to computer mischief. Well, actually it's because my roommate started a fistfight with me, and now he and the keyboard and mouse I was using are gone. Perhaps I'll explain in more detail at some point in the future.

In any case, I'll be able to type this from my own computer...oh, probably within a week or so, and perhaps I'll be able to get things working soon. 'Til then, enjoy your Thanksgiving, folks, and after the turkey will come the Pale Hose, I hope.

And remember to never, ever turn a psychopath's television off at 2 A.M. Nothing good can come of it.

Sorry to hear about that Craig.

Interesting story: When I was a freshman, my roommate declined to shower/bath/do his laundry...resulting in a very smelly room. Eventually he found a "girlfriend" (we refer to her as "Goat Girl"), and they ended up sleeping together on the floor of my room (his mattress was on the ground...he was having kidney stones...long story). Well, I bitched and moaned and then he pretty much "moved out" (which means he spent 100% of his time with Goat Girl), leaving me with my own room which I used to my advantage. To this day, I'm still single.

I don't think that has anything to do with your situation, but it reminded me of my roommate problems. I hope you can get everything straightened away. The Pale Hose are moving down the home stretch!

Roommate

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your roommate. That is one reason, I never had one when I was in the dorms. Of course I moved from the dorms to a frat house, but that is besides the point.

yet another ootp6 dynasty dies

I had a very long, winding post written up, encompassing the Dizzy Dean quote "from bat to Wertz", but somehow it got eaten.

It got eaten, just like my Pale Hose dynasty has been eaten. I say that with a heavy heart -- and all because of a stupid accident, too. A mere graze of the power button last night while the OOTP was open, and I've got a corrupted file on my hands -- active players disappearing (including Jason LaRue ), and retired players (Woody Williams? Cap Anson?) taking their place. It appears to be irreparable, as I can clean out the retired guys but the active players like LaRue are just gone, and though I have backups from a few weeks prior, my heart's not in. It seems like the proper time to bow down, somewhat gracefully.

Fittingly, we ended up 61-82 (yes, I was quite a bit ahead with my postings), or one win short of tying last year's total with 19 games left. As big a fiasco as this season was, I'd have to say it was a success. The same goes for the thread -- I never really envisioned 665 posts, only about 2/3 of which were mine. I never expected to enjoy writing it as much as I did, and I certainly never expected anyone else to like it.

It's been a fun ride, and I thank each and every one of you that hung on for part of it. I'll be back -- just jumped into the online foray with this league, and I've been wanting to do a fictional league with V.6 for quite some time.

'Til then, enjoy your Turkey Day, enjoy the OOTP, particularly this forum, and take care.

EDIT: Almost forgot -- If Julio Lugo's still kicking around this year or next, and the White Sox trade for him to replace Juan Uribe...well, if you let "The Hacktastic One" or "The Out-Sucking Machine" slip out...know that you won't be alone.

There would have been something metaphyically beautiful if your "good-bye" was post 666.

Sorry abt the bad luck, both in real life and in the OOTP-verse. But here's hoping you start another dynasty that sucks just as much.

Well, what can I say. The Pale Hose have been to follow. Good luck with your online ventures. Leagues with other people can be a hassle, but I'm sure you'll be fine. Hey, if you could turn around the White Sox (you did turn them around, right?) then you can do anything!

Here's hoping you won't leave the dynasty forums for long.

Seconded. I drink to the Pale Hose. Well, actually, not anymore, cause I quit drinking. But metaphorically.

NOOOOOOOO, I'll never get the chance to introduce my hilarious nickname (well I thought it was funny) for Mr Loaiza. Oh well. Anyway, thanks for the read, really enjoyed it and good luck in the online league.

(just to prove Craig's proud 'no-photos in the first thread' statment in the second thread wrong. If that makes any sense.)

I'm late, too, but thanks for all of the replies, fellas. Really glad that you were able to enjoy reading my drivel.

Particularly because there's soon going to be more! Forthcoming..."The Pale Hose...Undead"!

The above paragraph should be in miniscule type, for dramatic effect, but for some reason it ain't workin'. No problem. I don't know drama anyway.
