1962 Stanley Cup Finals preview
Philadelphia Flyers (85-77) vs. Winnipeg Jets (105-57)
On paper, it looks like the Jets are heavy favorites. But the way that the Flyers are performing in the playoffs, it appears that they underachieved in the regular season. Remember, this is virtually the same Flyers team that won the Stanley Cup three years ago in 1959. The Flyers will be looking for their 3rd Stanley Cup in franchise history. The Jets are looking for their first Stanley Cup. They reached the Finals in 1901, 1902, 1905, and 1925, and lost every time. My prediction: Winnipeg in seven. |

How did this guy make the Hall of Fame?
So he had a .300 career batting average and stole some bases. Big deal. 40 career home runs?

A closer turned starter
This guy was the opposite of Dennis Eckersley. Started his career as a closer, became a top-notch starter. However, judging by the article, OOTP thought that he was still a closer at the end of his career.

Conference Semifinals: Clb vs. SJ
SJ leads 3-2
series tied 3-3 Clb wins 4-3 San Jose's 1963 season came to a crushing, painful end. Up 3 games to 1, they lost games 5 and 6. In Game 7, things looks good after taking a 4-0 lead after one inning. But they failed to score another run in innings 2-8. In the 9th, holding on to a slim 4-3 lead, they allowed 7 runs and were trailing 10-4. In the bottom of the 9th, they almost came back, scoring 5 times, but the comeback fell short and Columbus advanced with an unbelievable 10-9 victory. |
