England has some very attacking and experienced midfielders as well that could fill any potential void creating my off-form/injured/too young/too-gangly strikers

I doubt he'll be match sharp though.

I was going to make a joke that on his form at Liverpool/Aston Villa that it might be better if he is playing for you guys, but then I remembered Euro 2004...

Yes, it would be nice to avoid Germany, but on the other hand playing them might remind the team of it's best performance in recent years, when we beat them 5-1 (and Gerrard/Owen in particularly destroyed them).

I've always liked Milan Baros, not because of his form... idon't know why actually. I think he played well for me in CM4

True, but it increases pressure on the players. Footballers always talk about how much confidence an in-form striker gives the entire team, as they know a half-chance in a poor performance can be enough.

What if it reminds them of the last match played at Wembley instead??

He's a good tournament player, I think... too inconsistent for league football, but gets fired up for big games. Also not the sort of player who "needs" match sharpness, in a way. He's a headless chicken - moment of brilliance type striker anyway.

Did you hear that Harry Kewell has escaped a ban for his comments, because of "inconsistencies" in Markus Merk's report?

Harry Kewell has been cleared to play in Australia's last Group F match against Croatia after escaping a ban for insulting referee Markus Merk.

The Liverpool winger was reported for swearing at the German official after the Socceroos' 2-0 defeat by Brazil.

However, Fifa will not suspend Kewell because of the inconsistent nature of Merk's report, according to communications director Markus Siegler.

It could have even more similarities - that was Kevin Keegan's last game in charge.

Probably not allowed to refer to players as Schweinhund (sp?) in official match reports
