The St. Louis Cardinals have placed infielder Thomas Saggese on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a torn hamstring during an 8-0 win over the Chicago White Sox on July 8.
Saggesse, 24, was hitting .272 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 30 games/29 starts at the time of his injury.
He is expected to be out for up to four weeks.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis is 2024 first-round draft pick J.J. Wetherholt.
Wetherholt has split his time this season between Memphis and AA Springfield.
In 79 games/78 starts, he has hit .246 with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs.
