Sanchez got in a decent inning. Silver linings.
Of course, Coke is in there stinking up the joint now.

It's always something isn't it. Verlander finally looks like he has things figured out and now Rick Porcello has hit the wall. UGH!

What a pressure start for this rookie today. We'll either have a new hero by 10:00 tonight or will be sweating bullets on Sunday.

Nice start under the circumstances for this kid but it all came unglued. Now Coke is in there pouring gasoline on the fire.
I have to step away from this for a while.

Coke comes in with the bases loaded and two outs. Gacks up three straight hits and only gets out of the inning thanks to a great throw from the outfield. Coke's ERA isn't impacted but he just (once again) gave us a nightmare appearance that likely closed the door on any sort of comeback.
If this guy is kept on the post season roster or is back in camp this spring I will puke.

At least KC is losing so the damage may not be irreversible. Maybe.
Phil Coke must go. Phil Coke must go now. I mean before the lights are turned out at the stadium tonight. Clear out his locker and send him to the Mexican league for a bag of field lime.

I wonder if given the choice of who goes first Phil Coke or Brady Hoke, I wonder who the folks in Michigan would choose.

Hoke's a big guy. Have him carry Coke on his back out of town.

Honestly, I question Ausmus' ability to make reasonable decisions. The game was in the balance and he goes to the least reliable arm in a troubled pen. If you are that much of a slave to splits and what the laptop spits out you can't be a big league head hancho in my opinion.

Off topic, but this 2nd wild card is an embarrassment to baseball and all organized sports. I hate it with every bone in my body. Probably not as much as I hate interleague play, but close.

Whew, KC lost. A good outing from Price tomorrow could wash that coke taste out.

Price with a gem. Second great outing in a row for him Justin looked good in his last 2 as well. Max is Max. Rick has been off the last few. I think we have to hope the bats are on fire, the bigs pitch big and the guys in the pen eat a ton of sunflower seeds, chew a lot of gum and tell a lot of jokes. We need our guys in the pen to be well rested for the offseason.

Whew. So glad that they aren't involved in any one-game nonsense 'playoffs'
O's on Tuesday!

Don't agree with these days off between the end of the season and the wildcard games. Seems to defeat the purpose of it quite a bit.
