Rick didn't have it today and the ump behind the plate didn't help matters much. He was equally bad for Guthrie as well though. We need the Indians to hold on to that 2 run lead tomorrow in that suspended game. Anyone else scared of things coming down to having to beat those Twins?

I sure am concerned about that. The Hostess Twinkies seem to become the '27 Yankees against Detroit.

This is going to be quite a week one way or another. I don't think that I've ever engaged in Seattle scoreboard watching before.

Playoff magic number (w/Seattle) is 4 with 6 to play. With two starts from Price and one each from Max, Verlander and Porcello why does this have to feel so shaky?

Playoff magic number down to two with five to play. Seattle is running themselves out of this.

Glad to see they pulled that one out last night. That would have been a devastating way to lose such an important game. Nice to see Price pitch so well.

What a surprise. Did any of you notice that Brennon Boesch is playing for the Angels? Not doing all that great, hitting .191, but I didn't even think he was in the game anymore. I hope he turns things around.

This 8th innings is my favorite of the season. Timely hitting, a sacrifice, stolen base, suicide squeeze.

It would be nice to see him carve out a career for himself.

Great win! Price and Verlander look strong. Soria was sharp in his inning of work. Playoff magic number down to 1 with four to play and maybe the Mariners will seal that deal tonight. If KC stumbles tonight, the division magic number will be three.
I don't dare feel confident yet, but ...

Well, at least this much is now locked in. I agree though, I wouldn't want a one game playoff with the Astros much less the A's. Let's hope that they can beat the twinkies like rented mules for a change.

Really hoping the last 2 outings are a sign that Mr Verlander has returned to his usual late season self. Great to see. J D Martinez just continues to hit and make me realize why I love baseball so much. The guy was sent packing by the Astros and now look at him. Who knows what next year will bring, but for one year at least the dude got to be a stud.

We'd rather take our chances with KC. Really don't want to be eliminated by Verlander three years in a row. We all know it would happen.

When attending a game at Tiger Stadium back in the day, did you prefer the slippery dog served by a vendor in the stands or the burnt dogs served at the concession stands? I always had to have one of each.

Man, I would hate to be a Mariners fan. That team has folded up like a cheap lawn chair.

This M's collapse has been epic. But pretty much whole field in the AL Wild Card race has been ****ty too. I have to think the Indians, Blue Jays and Yankees are kicking themselves for not getting closer earlier because the door is wide open and no one is taking it. Usually there's that team that steamrolls to the postesason at the end but this year there's going to be two teams backing in.

A third good start in a row. Effective bullpen work.
Who kidnapped my Tigers? This is not the team that I know!
