may I ask why? Not that I disagree or agree specifically. Is it due to the more teams/shorter time group format? longer knockout stage? Less rich teams?

I never thought that a simple reason for me leaving the thread would get so many posts. I didn't want to be an attention seeker, so that's why I said why I was leaving, instead of people wondering where I was.
Maybe I should have left in silence. Of which a quarter of them are mine. And how many of those have actually contributed to the thread (especially along the lines of the thread title)? |

I know my true feelings, and they are the ones I said there. I am useless. And if you knew me face-to-face you wouldn't want to be seen anywhere near me. I've always said nobody likes me, and if you think I'm lying about that, then I can't change your mind. Quote:
Although maybe it shows that I can't get the tone of my posts right, and they read differently to everyone else than what it reads to me. If that is so, I've made the best decision to leave the thread, so I don't upset, offend, or scare off anyone else. Quote:
Because as I said before, you will have much more intelligent debate without me here. I only post stuff OT to the thread, or stuff so obscure and weird that nobody is interested about. |

It was an idea. But having re-thought that, it was very condescending of me, and for that I apologise to you.

Once again, if I offended you, I am sorry. Quote:
).Yes it was. But maybe it was too presumptuous and/or condescending, and I'm sorry for that. As I said, I'm trying to help everyone by leaving the thread, so it's not a two person thing IMO. |

Dude...Im sorry for that above post. It was condescending and written in a moment of frustration. While you say no one likes you, I like you. I giuess Im a no one. So maybe you are right.
I hope you dont leave for many reasons. If you do leave may I say that it was a pleasure to have you here. You are one of the most knowledgable footie voices we have. Quote:

This was what I didn't want to happen, so I posted my reasons for going.
I'm sorry for derailing the thread again. ![]() Quote:

Wow
Im watching the last few minutes of the Colo Colo-Gimnasia Copa SudAmerica quarterfinal match from Chile. A Gimnesia (Argentina) player was just hit in the head with something thrown from the stands and had had to be carted off. Looks like the match has been suspended. Too bad. An amazing performance from the Chilean striker Suazo puting away 3 amazing goals. Last edited by bababui; 10-20-2006 at 02:55 AM. |

These are CONMEBOL's tournaments, and it makes it difficult for an outsider to watch when this junk keeps going on (and seemingly being allowed). I'm guessing Colo Colo will keep their result (I think it was 4-1), and will get fined and a stadium ban. But really the confederation should be looking at themselves - it happens WAY too often IMO.

An extreme FM challenge would br to take over the only semi-pro team in FM Argentina; Ben Hur. Their stadium only holds 2,000.
And in Chile they have NBA style playoffs.

The UEFA Cup imo is now tarnished with having group stages and all it is, is to make money it's not for the good of the game just the good of the bank accounts. The fans are voting with their wallets that they also agree that all these group games don't work, look at Newcastle last night, one of the best supported teams in England and they filled about half their ground for a UEFA Cup game. I know it seem's strange to say being a football fan but imo there is just too much football and with ticket prices going up all the time they are pricing the hardcore out who would go and watch every game but who are now picking and choosing their games, Latics this year have raised their prices by alot compared to last year and it's already shown by them not filling the stadium for the Man Utd game last Saturday, the chairman and the club wont suffer as I think they were stated as making something like £150,000 more from the game on Saturday than they did the same game last season even though last season was a bigger crowd so in the end the bank balance doesn't suffer but the fans who can't afford to go do suffer. It's only time before football faces a financial meltdown and it's already started as more and more teams struggle to fill their grounds. |
