The second waiver round will close in 15 minutes and it doesn't appear that there will be any action this round either.
Now that the UTBA is back on schedule, I'll leave the trade wire & waiver wire open till the start of week 5. Week 5 will resume action on Thursday night, December 20, 2007. Look ahead to week 5.......... Thursday's match-ups(December 20, 2007)
Although my prognosticating skills suck (it was very clear after last week), I'll be back here tomorrow and take a stab at predicting the week 5 outcomes. Last edited by SAL; 12-18-2007 at 08:48 PM. |

I was looking at the PfP by weightclass and noticed that Edwin Rosario had a PP score of 639.7 which should put him at 19 in the Top 20.

Damn, I was hoping to replace the PfPer I had just lost. Hopefully, some of the lower ranked guys lose soon so Edwin can get in there.

Updated Rosters
Romultiltus has very kindly volunteered to update the team rosters after each game week. I have changed the roster team links in the Standings post so they now will link to Romultiltus's update thread for each team. I've also included a link to entire roster update thread located below the team links.
You can view the standings post by using the link in my sig. Dave does a much better job by including more information on the rosters than I do plus it doesn't make sense for two of us to be updating the same thing in two different places. I'll find something better to do with the current rosters on the first 2 pages of this thread. Hell, I've got 24 spots now to work with thanks to Dave's help. |

Don't worry about the minors. I'll work something out, but since the minors are not in play this season, I don't see any reason to go into much detail about them now.

If we can get through Icetea this week, Hebron will be on a nice little roll.
We owe it all to Ahmed!

Week 5 Title Bout Previews
Here is a breakdown of the Championship Bouts scheduled for UTBA Week 5 Action:
HW-Peter Jackson: 96-9-2 (36) IceTeaBoxing Jackson will make his 14th and 15th defenses of his 3rd reign of the HW Title against the Hebron Haymakers combo of: Max Schmeling: 85-13-3 (45) [Jackson is 3-2-1 (2) against Schmeling in 6 prior bouts] Paolino Uzcudan: 56-35-3 (28) [Jackson is 4-0-0 (1) against Uzcudan in 4 prior bouts] It doesn't get much better than this. A reigning 3-time HW Champion challenged by 2 former HW Champions. Also, it's hard not to notice that Peter Jackson is ranked #1 in the overall PfP rankings and Max Schmeling is ranked #2 in the overall PfP rankings. Peter Jackson brings a 30-5-2 (13) [3 KO losses] in Title Bouts. He and Schmeling have a bit of history. Schmeling successfully defended his title against Jackson - winning U-15 - in Season 4. Jackson took the belt for the third time - by KO10 - in the Season 4 Playoffs and retained the title after a 15 round Draw in the Season 4 EOY Tournament. Schmeling is no pushover, having made 9 successful defenses during his only titile reign and holds an overall 10-3-1 (6) [w/ 1 KO loss] in Title Bouts. Paulino Uzcudan is also a former HW Champion, but reign ended in his first defense by 9th round TKO to Ken Norton back in the Season 2 EOY Tournament. Uzcudan is 1-2-0 (1) [w/ 2 KO losses] in Title Bouts. Jackson has owned Uzcudan in all 4 of their previous bouts LHW-Archie Moore: 47-6-0 (43) 1DQ Bear's Unstable Moore will make his 2nd and 3rd defenses of his 2nd reign of the LHW Title against the Windy City Wizards combo of: (r)Joe Choynski: 3-5-0 (2) [This will be their 1st meeting] Fabrice Tiozzo: 25-25-3 (18) 2DQ [Moore is 3-0-0 (3) against Tiozzo in 3 prior bouts] Ranked #5 in the overall PfP rankings, Archie Moore finally defeated LHW kingpin Bob Foster to regain the Title with a majority 15 round decision after previously losing 3 straight times. Moore is 9-2-0 (8) [w/ 2 KO losses] in Title Bouts. Tiozzo is a former LHW Champion who has a career 1-3-0 (0) [w/ 3 KO losses] in Title Bouts. He won the Title (KO-13) from Jimmy Adamick in Season 4 but lost in his 1st defense to none other than ... Archie Moore MW-Tiger Flowers: 83-18-7 (21) 6DQ IceTeaBoxing Flowers will make his 7th and 8th defenses of his 2nd reign of the MW Title against the Hebron Haymakers combo of: John Mugabi: 37-18-1 (33) 1DQ [Flowers is 4-0-0 (0) against Mugabi in 4 prior bouts] Ilyas Ahmed: 5-29-0 (2) [Flowers is 3-0-0 (3) against Ahmed in 3 prior bouts] Tiger Flowers has climbed up to #8 in the overall PfP rankings and is 7-1-0 (3) in Title Bouts. Hopefully he will not take his two opponents lightly despite the fact that he is an undefeated 7-0-0 (3) against them both. "The Beast" looks take the MW Title from Flowers in his 2nd title shot. He lost - U15 - to Carlos Monzon in the Season 4 EOY Tournament. But of course, the real attraction is going to be the showdown between Flowers and the undisputed #1 1-rated fighter in the UTBA this season, the one and only Ilyas Ahmed - who will be challenging for the title for the very first time... WW-Mark Breland: 60-31-5 (30) 1DQ Tomato City Breland makes his 6th and 7th defenses of his 2nd reign of the WW Title against The Dublin Guards' combo of: Billy Graham: 14-8-6 (3) 1DQ [This will be their 1st meeting] (r)Herb Darrity: 0-8-0 (0) [This will be their 1st meeting] Breland hopes to hold onto his Title for another week against the winless rookie Herb Darrity and the underachieving Billy Graham. Graham spent his rookie season in the Silver Conference w/ the Oakland Assassins and managed to pile up 6 Draws out of his first 20 fights. Now he hopes for a frest start in the Gold Conference w/ the Dublin Guards. Both Graham and Darrity are making their 1st appearances in a Title Bout. LW-Edwin Rosario: 79-15-1 (70) 1DQ Muckboys Rosario makes his 2nd and 3rd defenses of his 2nd reign of the LW Title against the Left Jab Inc combo of: Miguel Callist: 7-29-0 (5) [Rosario is 2-0-0 (2) against Callist in 2 prior bouts] Orzubek Nazarov: 17-21-2 (15) [Rosario is 2-1-0 (2) against Nazarov in 2 prior bouts] The Muckboys are itching to get Rosario to crack the top 20 in the overall PfP rankings and it may just happen this week. Rosario is 3-2-1 (2) in Title Bouts. Both Callist and Nazarov joined Left Jab Inc after spending time in the unemployment line - Callist for both Season 2 and 3, Nazarov for Season 3. Each has been unsuccessful in a single crack at the title and both lost by KO. Callist is struggling through an 0-8-0 (0) season so far, but Nazarov might put up a fight against Rosario. FW-Young Griffo: 91-7-7 (20) 2DQ Antwerp Southpaws Griffo makes his 9th and 10th defenses of his 4th reign of the FW Title against the Brazilian Barbarians combo of: Ruben Olivares: 57-27-1 (47) [Griffo is 3-0-0 (2) against Olivares] (r)Oscar Larios: 2-6-0 (1) [This will be their 1st meeting] Griffo is ranked #3 on the overall PfP list and keeps steaming towards his 100th victory. He defeated former champion Olivares to win the FW Title for the 2nd time back in Season 2. Olivares is no stranger to Title Bouts but it usually ends up badly for him. His Title Bout record stands at 2-5-0 (2) with 4 of the losses by KO. Highly regarded rookie Oscar Larios is having a tough rookie season wtih only 2 wins in 8 bouts so far. BW-Memphis Pal Moore: 53-19-3 (14) 2DQ The Nobodies Moore makes his 4th and 5th defenses of his 3rd reign of the BW Title against the 420th Street Gym's combo of: Benny Goldberg: 16-8-5 (4) 1DQ [Moore is 0-1-1 (0) against Goldberg] Johnny Carter: 29-31-8 (9) [Moore is 2-0-0 (0) against Carter] Not much may be going right for The Nobodies this season, but Memphis Pal Moore is champ and sits at #18 on the overall PfP rankings. He has an overall 6-3-0 (4) [w/ 1 KO loss] in Title Bouts Neither of his opponents have fought for a title yet, but Goldberg has 1 win and 1 draw against the champ. As for Carter, he sat out Season 3 before getting a second chance w/ the expansion 420th Street Gym in Season 4. FLY-Santos Laciar: 42-9-5 (11) Brazilian Barbarians Laciar makes his 4th and 5th defenses of his 3rd reign of the FLY Title against the Antwerp Southpaw's rookie combo of: (r)Muhammad Rachman: 3-5-0 (1) [This will be their 1st meeting] (r) Omar Soto: 1-6-1 (0) [This will be their 1st meeting] 3-time FLY Champion Santos Laciar looks to take the two rookie challengers to school in their first title opportunities. He has a 6-3-0 (1) [w/ 3 KO losses] record in Title Bouts, but should not be seriously challanged here. Combined, the two rookies have a record of 4-11-1 (1) in their 1st UTBA season. Good Luck... |

Since Dave is taking command of updating the rosters now(thank you again Dave), it leaves me 24 posts available on the first 2 pages of this thread to work with. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with them yet but I will keep a listing of all 24 team rosters (including the minors) on the first few posts but the fighters will be listed without their records.
I may just bunch the rosters together by divisions in a couple of posts instead of across 24 and and find a space to keep the links to the owners PM mail. |

Week 5 Predictions
Here's my thoughts on week 5.
December 20, 2007: Punching Bags @ Chilton Roughnecks The last meeting between these two ended in a 6 point victory for the Punching Bags. I think Chilton will make it close in a bid for their first franchise victory but I have the Punching Bags winning on the road. Punching Bags by 3 Juggernaut @ MexiVilles MexiVilles seem a little down right now but they sit in 2nd place in the South. Only problem for them is they are facing the 1st place team in the South this week. Look for Juggernaut to gain some distance on the MexiVilles in the standings. Juggernaut by 7 December 21, 2007: "UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK" Undisputed Champions @ Cawkney Crusaders U.C. suffered their first loss of the season last week. I'm looking for a repeat this week at the mitts of the Season 3 World Champions. Cawkney Crusaders by 1 Hoosier Playboys @ Oakland Assassins I'm not sure what's wrong with the Playboy's this season. Their knockout totals are there but they are not getting the victories. Oakland looks to gain some ground on first place U.C. this week in the standings with a "W". Oakland will be looking for a little payback in this one as well. The last time these two met, Hoosier Playboys crushed the Assassins winning by a score of 52-31. Oakland Assassins by 8 Rest of the week: The Nobodies @ 420th Street Gym Last meeting, Nobodies won 44-31. The Nobodies experience will win out in this one. The Nobodies by 10 Hebron Haymakers @ Iceteaboxing Should be a thriller. 1st & 2nd place squaring off. This match could decide the fate of the North division. Hebron is the defending World Champs.....so I gotta go with them. Hebron Haymakers by 6 Fightin' Wilcats @ Stockholm's Finest The WildKats have been in close ones all season. I don't see it changing this week either. Fightin' Wilcats by 4 Tile Hill Top Team @ Bonner Springs Bald Beavers This will be close between the 2 powers in the East division. The Beavers have represented the Gold all 4 seasons in the World Championship but I see a changing in the guards. Tile Hill Top Team by 2 Brazilian Barbarians @ Antwerp Southpaws The Barbarians just came off of a close loss to the Central leading Bears last week. I look for the Barbarians to gain a little ground on them this week with a victory over a young team. Brazilian Barbarians by 9 Windy City Wizards @ Bears Unstable Bears Unstable has had trouble with this franchise. Windy City Wizards will put a good fight but I think they fall just a little short in this one. Bears Unstable by 4 Left Jab Inc @ Muckboys Left Jab is starting to come on but the Muckboys will set them back this week. I also predict 2 wins for Muckboy's Danny Lopez this week. Muckboys by 11 WOODSHED WHOOPING PICK OF THE WEEK Tomato City @ Dublin Guards The title says it all. Tomato City will roll.......... Tomato City by 22 Last edited by SAL; 12-20-2007 at 12:46 AM. |

The lack of activity in the waiver rounds made me forget to mention.........
the 1st, 2nd & 3rd waiver rounds are closed. The 4th and final waiver round will close on December 20, 2007 @ 6 pm CST. The trade wire will also close on December 20, 2007 @ 6 pm CST then week 5 will begin. Good luck to all the teams in their divisional battles this week and here's hoping Lee and his Roughnecks will celebrate their first team victory tomorrow night. First up in Week 5: Punching Bags at Chilton Roughnecks. First round action will begin in 20 hours. Last edited by SAL; 12-20-2007 at 12:53 AM. |

NOOO, damn you SAL why did you have to call two Lopez wins now he'll get blasted out in 1 by both of his opponents. I expect Lopez come away with only one win this week. I think he can take Clayton but I don't like his chances against McGovern. Maybe once Lopez hits Prime he could take McGovern but not now.
