Question, I started as an unknown GM to work my way up through the ranks, in year 2 I accepted a job as the German U20 GM, I'm now in year 4 and I'm curious if there is anyway I can quit from this position and field other international roles in the future?

I'm still having trouble getting imported players into the draft. (Historical game, 1980) Thier league rights are set to none, thier age 19-20 years old, but only some show up in the draft while most others don't.

You can quit it by resigning from the team. Click the Manager Tab and Resign from Nat.Team.

Question:
In FHM5 there was an option to define for your team where the team should shoot, e.g. "Glove Side", "Low", "Stick Side". I do not find this option in FHM6 anymore. Was it removed? Made lots of sense to me as I would select the specifc "Shooting Preference" depending on the opposing G weakness. |

Is there a way to hire retired players to scout or coach?

Some retired players will reappear as staff when they retire, but there's no way of controlling which ones decide to do that (it does tend to happen more often to those with better leadership/coachability skills.)

Is there any way to get the owner to increase the non playing staff budget? Currently it’s being decreased every year and I’m down to minimal scouts and will lose most of my assistant coaches this offseason.

Editing Stanley Cup
I recently started a historical game in 1917 and it had the challenge format to the Stanley Cup. Is there away to edit it so it is effectively only NHL teams that are in the Stanley Cup rather than the PCHL teams as well?
Thanks |

Seriously! How do you get imported players into the draft of a historical league? Their league rights are set to none, they're the appropriate age for the year, but they still will not be added to the draft list and can't be signed.

No, that's hardcoded in - it'll remain that way until after the 25-26 season.

It's connected to the team budget ("Season Budget" on the edit screen), so raising that will raise the staff budget.

Import them the season before you want them in the draft - any time up to June 30 is fine; if you do it on July 1 they won't go into the draft on July 3.

That's what I'm doing. For example, I'll import them in december, 1979, but when the draft rolls around in July, 1980, they don't all show up. Some will, some times, but others won't, especially if they've a lot of stars.

Now, does the program limit how many players can be in a draft? Are these guys being left out because a limit's being broken? Gadsby I tried to add a couple seasons ago. Could it be that the draft limit is being reached and he still can't get in each season? |

No, there's no limit.
Those guys seem to go into the draft properly when I add them in December 1979. Maybe upload a save where you're seeing it happen and I'll have a look, I might be doing something differently than you are. |

Hey, I play as an WHL GM/Head Coach and just don't get the overaged rules. All I can find on the internet is that there are 3 players allowed who are over 20. But I have just one guy who is 20 and he isn't even marked as (OA), and if I want to add another 20 year old player it says that there are already 3 overaged players. Its almost the same with signing 16 year olds, some I can sign, some not.
Second thing is that I've drafted two players in the CHL import draft and both don't want do Canada, I might have just bad luck here but normally that's not realistic at all. Players who get drafted in the import draft are in contact with the team before the draft and only get selected if they have the intention to play overseas. When you look on elite prospects there are a some unused draft picks and >90% of the players who get drafted are playing overseas the next season. |
