Nice win for the Dusk Owls. Looks like there's a new sheriff in the Mendoza division.

Damn ... My team stinks!!! (Although I'm happy about the good comeback in the 2nd half. Eugene Criqui has to be one of the biggest disappointments of the league so far. I should dump him now, but he just went Pre-Prime, so I'll give him another week.

Yeah..story of my life. No problem, just looks like some changes are in store for this squad. When Nunn,Davis start getting whacked out..that is bad news. That was a whipping...not even competitive.

Attention, Vistaman
Mark, I don't know if you've noticed or not but in my parade of tomato can mods thread I've done some African TCs you might find useful in your uni. I really took a liking to the name Sunday King Hammer.

Nebraska finally wins one. Glad to have that monkey off my back.

Thanks for the win Brooks. I'm sure if I didn't win one soon, the people in Lincoln would send me packing.

Sorry Chris, Jorge didn't perform well for his new team. A points leader in his division loses one and draws. Ofcourse, Santry performed as expected losing yet again.

Just a Reminder........

As soon as I post the last two matches in week five, the first round of three rounds in the waiver wire process will open. Fighters that are available to be picked up on waivers can be found in the Free Agent Pool. Link is in my sig.

All waiver requests will be sent to me by PM. I've already sent my choices off to Dave & Romy. I'll make an official announcement after the last match of week 5 stating that I'm ready to receive requests for the first waiver round.

Waiver Schedule will be as follows:
  • Round 1 - will open within the next 3 hours and end on Monday, June 23, 2008 @ 4 pm CST.
  • Round 2 - will open @ 4 pm CST on June 23 and close on June 24 @ 4 pm CST.
  • Round 3 - will open @ 4 pm CST on June 24 and close on June 25 @ 4 pm CST.
Week 6 will commence shortly after the last waiver round on Wednesday, June 25.

A reminder about the fighters in the free agent pool. What you see is what you get. No fighters will ever be randomly placed in the free agent pool again unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. The only way fighters will be added to the free agent pool is when a team drops a fighter from their roster due to waivers, draft etc.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, for those teams out there that like the 1 and 2 rated fighters, the only way you'll be able to get them in the league will be through the draft when they're available.

Is Your Fighter a Bum or a Stud???

At the end of Week 5 action, I plan on posting some interesting data relating to a fighter's relative value on a team based on what his cap number is and how he is performing.

I've decided to call this new "stat" the Value Index or (VI) of each fighter. Basically it is just a simple calculation - dividing the individual points scored total of a fighter by his cap number.

With the opening of the waiver wire and the CONN CHRIS "I'll trade anybody at any time" wildcard now in effect, I think this will be a good snapshot of whether or not a fighter is pulling his weight or not. You might be surprise to see which low/mid-rated fighters appear to be worth more than the high-rated superstars on a team.

So before anyone makes a rash decisions and dumps all the 3- and 4-rated guys on their teams, you may find this info useful...

NOTE: I've got the Gold Conference info ready now, but am now in the process of compiling the Silver Conference week 5 results.

(Stay Tuned...)

This sounds cool. Similar to what i used to call Bear's eyeball test. I looked for guys to produce at least three times their rating worth of points.
