CF - Kotsay
LF - Swisher 3B - Chavez DH - Thomas RF - Bradley C - Melhuse 2B - Ellis 1B - Johnson SS - Perez Nice to see that our fearless leader actually didn't screw up the lineup too bad today. Personally, I'd have Kotsay/Bradley/Swisher/Chavez/Thomas, but oh well. I'm a little scared about today anyways. Here's a few interesting tidbits: Los Angeles hitters are batting .378 against Loaiza with 19 RBIs and five homers. Six different Angels are batting over .300 against Loaiza In 11 appearances against the Angels, Loaiza is 3-2 with a 6.09 ERA. Since he came into the league in 1995, Los Angeles is batting .339 against him.

Either way, at this point he's costing the team, and until he finds his swing, Swisher should be at 1B and Payton should be in LF.

So how long before Loaiza is put in the bullpen and a pitcher who doesn't suck at life takes over that spot?

The Angels announcers make my ears bleed. They need to stop whining about Doug Eddings. They need to stop saying things like "The A's don't have starting pitching depth" when they have two starters in the bullpen they're so deep. They need to just shut up.
I don't want to wish bad on a guy, but I hope Esteban Loaiza can never pitch again. Saarloos, Kennedy, or somebody in AAA have to be at least as awful as he has been. Antonio Perez might have the least range of any shortstop ever. Score some runs, guys. kthx. |

I really, really hate Steve Psychotic and Rex Hudler. I will be watching the rest of the game on mute.
I put Loaiza on the DL and give Saarloos the chance to get his #5 starter job back. Kennedy has been valuable as the LOOGY so keep him there. Gaudin can stay up and take Saarloos' place as long reliever. Shoulda scored more that inning, but I'm glad we got at least one. That's like when I'm excited I knocked over one pin in bowling instead of getting a gutter ball. It shoulda been easier than that, but better than nothing. |

Glad to know Macha hit Ellis 7th instead of leadoff today because there was a righty on the mound, and not because he sucks.

this sucks.... 5-2 start... now 7-11.... have won 2 of the last 11.... GREAT! well, Swisher has been looking good... will probably end up a Yankee if he can keep this up until he's in his FA year.... HOPE NOT! Also, I think Kennedy should get the #5 spot and Saarloos stay in the pen... i think Kennedy is a better SP and now that he is out of Colorado could thrive in a starting role!

![]() Kennedy is doing well as the lefty reliever right now. Leave him there. Sarloos was arguably one of the better fifth starters in MLB last year. If Loaiza is headed to the DL, Sarloos should get the starts.

I say bring up one of the kids from AAA. Hell let Hasley start some games. Saarloos is probably going to stay in the pen, just because he never got stretched out to start, but hey you never know with Macha.

Milwood has walked 4 A's already (4th inning). This is looking like the Lackey game. Hopefully the outcome is the same.

Is there a more depressing thing than seeing Jason Kendall come to bat with 2 on and 2 outs?
