Not a twins fan, but have great respect for their franchise. Great read from the batgirl.

I heard a while back that there where speculations of a new stadium proposal... where are they on the issue? Seems to me that a new stadium would be great for the city. The metrodome doesn't seem like the ideal place to see a great team play ball.

The legislators are working on it. The Gophers stadium (NCAA football) seems most likely. Followed closely by the Twins and the finally the Vikings. The paper today made it sound like the Twins will get the stadium. It was just a sentance, but it seemed much more optimistic than the huge articles from the past years on the issue.

The Metrodome isn't horrible, it is much better than many of the other stadiums, but it needs to be updated and an outdoor/retractable stadium would be great for the Twins. It's hard to go to the Dome to watch an indoor game on all those nice Minnesota summer days.

A sample of Batgirl's brilliance:

It is so heartwarming to see someone like Sabathia do so well in the bigs, overcoming the horrible genetic deformity that requires that he wear his baseball cap all askew. Even though he plays for our division rivals, I think we can really feel good about rooting for him. His heartwarming story is bigger than any petty competition and is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Thank you, Captain Cheeseburger Sabathia, for reminding us that baseball is not just a game, but it is something which asks us to be our best selves, sometimes in spite of truly incredible odds.
