I beg to differ. It has everything to do with it. The right thing to do would have been to wait until the patch was released to see if the issue remained. I think you would have been surprised. If not, then pointing it out to Markus would have likely gotten it fixed at that point. The bottom line is no one was supposed to have seen the Beta, it was known to be a Beta, yet everyone was treating it like it was the final release.

I don't agree with this. Okay, somehow some people got their hands on the beta before they were meant to. That's beside the point. But, upon noticing a bug I don't see why it's so wrong to point it out. It doesn't mean there is no faith in the beta testers, it's just a fan of the game who is concerned and trying to be helpful on the off chance (however small) that it was missed. Worse case scenario there's a redundant thread in the forum. So what? I don't understand why you are getting defensive about this and turning it into a trust issue re. the beta team. I'm sure that's not how it was meant.

So the volunteer unpaid very small beta team is perfect and has never mised a bug? I stand corrected. I guess some folks don't trust you guys. I just thought you were human.

Your right, I'm not meaning to present it that way. I'm just trying to point out that the flavor of the issue wasn't so much "I don't think this is a good idea", it was more like why would someone do this and take a step backwards? If the person(s) asking that truly believed Markus and/or the Beta testers also wouldn't let this happen, then the assumption should be that someone will catch it - especially considering all the Beta testers read the board, and the issue was either already in front of Markus or soon would be. Just like in real life, if your presented with a "how can you be so stupid" statement, your going to get defensive - it's only natural.

I don't care that Thom posted it. I like Thom

Anyway, I just thought it a display of hubris to think that because it was posted here that that is the reason it was changed. There is no good reason to think either way as of now.

We will never know if the Beta testers would have found this...so what is the point arguing

Actually, if they found it before the board sprung on it, then, yes, we'll know if they found it and that they found it.

Boy am I glad I wasn't home much of the weekend. It's Monday evening and I just noticed that the patch was available. And from sorting through all of the messages, it's the final version that's posted on the front of ootpdevelopments.com, which is the only place I download the current patches from. So now I'm going to calmly download and install the patch, and enjoy whatever is different about it.

Perhaps you need to venture into Off Topic a little more to see that 98% of my posts are sarcastic, that percentage goes up to 100% when followed by a smiley.

maybe this thread should be deleted since it is worthless. its already caused enough panic and confusion.

or maybe just close it to keep it from being bumped like this
